Property Ratings at Element 250
I recently moved into Element 250 under the new management, and I have nothing but great things to say! The team has been doing an outstanding job, and I couldn’t be happier to call this place home.
The apartment took almost half amout of my security deposit becuse there was dust and dead roaches on the floor. The bath room ceiling was leaking toilet water which damage the wall of the apartment and the floor. I asked them to fix it but they only worked on the leaks not the wall and floor which later they charge me for. The apartment hall way always sticks and the elevator barly works.

Hello, Thank you for your feedback. Per the signed lease agreement, we have certain standards that we follow and expect our tenants to follow. Your apartment was renovated, professionally cleaned, and did not have any reported pest issues prior to your move-in. Upon your move-out inspection, we found many areas that did not meet our expectations. We understand your frustration, but we believe that we have been very fair and lenient with the charges. I would also like to clarify that the elevators have been modernized and have not had any issues since it was completed months ago. Additionally, our common areas and hallways are professionally cleaned on a regular basis. If you would like to speak about this again, please don’t hesitate to reach out to management. Thank you. Sincerely, Management
This apartment is the worst place I have ever lived at. This is coming from a fresh college grad that is fairly flexible with living conditions. The Bad: 1. Only one elevator works at any given time (That is if you are lucky). Dont expect it to change anytime because apparently it has been that way for years and the management always says they are fixing it. 2. Corridors are smelly and repulsive. 3. Trash area is by far THE WORST aspect of living here. Just breathing near the trash area can reduce your lifespan. Looks like no one knows how to use the trash chute? 4. Basement parking area literally damages your vehicle because of the leaking rust. 5. The electricity bills skyrocket (going above $400 in winters for 2bhk) 6. The heating in the winters dont work (even in renovated apartment) 7. The noise made by the air conditioner/heating unit is just way too loud and impossible to ignore. Oh it also occupies a lot of space in your bedroom. 8. No matter how clean you keep the apartment, bugs find a way through. 9. Leaking water to my bedroom from the bathroom above us. It is just disgusting. 10. Rotting roof in the shower area. It looks like its gonna collapse any moment. 11. Broken garage door opener for past 1 year. The good: TBH not a lot of things to mention here. 1. Price? but I would rather pay couple of hundred bucks extra to live in a decent place. 2. Fairly secured thanks to all the security cameras. 3. Good access to bus stop. 4. Plumbing and electricity repair staff are fairly available incase something goes wrong (Something will go wrong)

Thank you for your feedback. We are very sorry to hear that your experience here at Element 250 has been less than excellent, as we strive to exceed the expectations of all our tenants! We would like to take a moment to address the points of your review. Please know that one of our elevators is currently under construction and is being fully modernized. This will be completed in February 2021. As soon is that is done, we are going to modernize the other elevator and have that completed ASAP. Our elevators have always been a top priority for us and we are working hard to have this project finished in a timely manner. Secondly, our staff cleans/sanitizes the corridors and trash chutes on a daily basis, even 2-3 times a day. We’ve sent out a number of reminders to tenants on how to properly care and use our amenities, and have posted more notices around the building. We’ve noticed a change, but we understand more has to be done as community in order to fully resolve this. Our garage doors have been replaced over a year ago. If the garage door does not open for you, it would mean you have not registered for parking. In regards to your electricity, your bill is strictly dependent on usage (hot water, heat, AC, etc). Our 2-bedroom units were designed to have a HVAC machine in one of the bedrooms. We’ve looked into relocating the units, but it’s very difficult to do so per the building plan and code. Heating/cooling and leaks are very important to us. If you ever experience any issues, our office, maintenance staff, plumber and HVAC vendor are always on speed dial. All this being said, we would greatly appreciate the opportunity to speak with you to make things right. If you would be willing to discuss this further, please contact Windy at (860) 728-3232. We look forward to hearing from you!
"a great place to call "home". The entire staff always greet you with a smile and are very helpful to our needs, and are quick to attend to any problems that arise . The grounds and facilities are kept clean every day by friendly courteous workers. The workout rooms are open and rarely crowded. I love the convenience of the elevator and parking garage. I could not feel safer anywhere else....a beautiful neighborhood with parks and trails." Thanks for the new management especially Ross and Windy for making things easier!

Thank you very much for such a great review! We are pleased to hear that you've had a great experience and are enjoying the improvements here at Element 250!
I moved into 250 Main about 7 months ago. Conditions were not great when I moved in but have gone drastically downhill. One or both of the elevators are consistently in a non-working state and my roommate and I have gotten stuck in the elevator more than once. This has been on-going (the past 4 months or so) and management has made no visible effort to correct this problem. You are also expected to pay $40 a month for parking if you have a car but I and many other tenants have never been able to access the parking garage due to a malfunctioning entrance box. I have brought this up to both concierge staff and the leasing office, both of which told me they knew it was broken. Again, no visible effort has been made to fix it since I moved in. Another huge problem is the lack of building security. The security mechanism on all the exterior doors broke about 2 months ago. The door locks have been taped shut since then, granting anyone in downtown Hartford access to the building. Recently, a homeless person came in and defecated on the floor of the lobby. This is entirely unacceptable and again, there has been no effort to fix this and when management is asked about it, they just deflect the questions. I'm sure something similar will happen again. The website also exaggerates the "chic" amenities. There is no business center or lounge, 2 apartment have stainless steel appliances, and the 'state of the art fitness center' is 1 treadmill, 1 bike, and 1 elliptical plus a broken pulley machine.

Thank you for your feedback. We are very sorry to hear that your experience here at Element 250 has been less than excellent, as we strive to exceed the expectations of all our tenants! We would like to take a moment to address the points of your review. Please know that we are aware of the elevator issue and are in constant contact with not only our elevator company, but also our corporate office to get repairs (and hopefully a full replacement) made as quickly as possible. We understand the frustration of having only one elevator running and we know how important it is to get these issues resolved quickly and properly. Regarding the parking garage and building access systems: We apologize for any confusion, as neither of those systems actually broke down; they were removed as brand new systems were being installed. A new surveillance system was installed in and around all areas of the building for improved security, and then (under the safety of the new surveillance system) the entry points to the building were kept open so that tenants would have access while the new access system hardware was being installed and the new key fobs were dispersed to all tenants and parkers. As you can tell, the building is currently undergoing major renovations in all areas, which just began this year. We recently debuted the very first of the renovated apartments, with the remainder of units expected to reach completion over the next three years. The brand new lounge, business center, and gym described for you to look forward to online will be debuted this year and will be located next to the main lobby, which will also be seeing a major facelift. All this being said, we would greatly appreciate the opportunity to speak with you to make things right. If you would be willing to discuss this further, please contact Windy at (860) 728-3232. We look forward to hearing from you!

1. Everything stinks lobby, stairs, garage, apartment. 2. Old and inefficient equipments beware you end up paying a heavy electricity bill every month. I stayed there for 2 year never paid a electricity bill less than $300 which during winters goes to $600. 3. In unit heater / AC makes lot of noise. 4. Management sucks they won't move a inch whatever may be the case. I got a new car which I had to park outside for a week as management need to do paper work to register my car to there system. 5. Rent rise is exponential after your first term. So if you plan to stay long this is not a place. 6. Old chimney just good to make noise. 7. There are two elevators in the building but only one works at a time. Morning and evening time you could spend typically 15-20 minutes waiting. Over everything the management is rude and absolutely non-cooperative they would take away peace from your life

Would have given three stars had it not been for the archaic and dysfunctional administrative office staff and processes. Pros: -Cheapest accommodation available in downtown for a 2 BR/2 Bath Apartment. Value for money. -Active and friendly repair staff who service the apartment within 24 hours of notice Cons: - The office admin staff dealing with paperwork is the weakest link and the downfall of these apartments. In our case it cost us an additional 2 months rent post our vacating the apartment due to the sheer breakdown in communication on thee office's part. A small office of two could not provide us up to date information on the status of our lease extension. Our time was simply too valuable to sue professionals who we believed to lack integrity and empathy for their customers. - As a former Uconn student, will not recommend this for students. Students (as was our case) are particularly harassed to submit long forms with co-signers and given a hard time to extend leases. This is not the case for other apartments in the vicinity. Recommend only if you are on a budget and are can work with slow and often uncooperative admin staff. We were warned beforehand and are now paying the price for not heeding the comments.

there is no lease break policy. my lease was till march and i had a job change in Nov and needed to move to NY. the management wont even consider my request and said i need to pay rent till mar unless they get the apartment rented before that. there is no provision of sub leasing also. very difficult to get in or out of lease. other than that, the apartment us nice, cleaning staff is helpful, rent is cheap, heart of downtown. very convenient if you have a job in hartford.

DO NOT STAY IN THESE APARTMENTS unless you are willing to compromise on almost everything. I've stayed here all this time because it is one of the cheapest apartments in Downtown, and it would be under statement to say, you get what you pay for. Almost everything including the AC, the heating unit, the elevators, the garage door opener, everything you can think of, is always broken. And it doesn't even get fixed on time; it takes about a week to fix small things like these. And if you complain more than once to get things fixed, the management threatens you by saying that you will have to pay for the fix yourself. The staff is always rude, especially one specific person in the main office. One of the security people at the concierge desk, always shouts at the residents, is disrespectful and never helpful and somehow he is still here. The apartment does not collect packages, so that's a big big pain. The underground parking is horrible. There is some white chemical that drips from the ceiling, that would make a permanent mark on your car. It takes a $300 paint-buff job to get it fixed. This is my last lease renewal here. I'm leaving and never coming back unless there is new management. Stay anywhere else but here.
We are trying to lease the appartment for past two weeks. The staff in the office so irresponsible and rude that they don't repond to any emails and mutiple trips to office did not provide any information. The staff is so ruthless, Lazy and irresponsible that they shut the door and though they are inside the office they never answer the phone or door. If they are like that i would imagine how worst the maintainence will be. I hope some one will take care of the issue. Someone should better take care of this issue.
The woman showing me the property was very helpful and professional, the apartments were smaller than I wanted and too expensive
Education is the key to a sound future to making money to paying my rent on time and getting some furniture that nice and having friends and family over in the direction that there provide gifts like a television, a picture or 2 and last but not least a rug for the guest that said welcome. How that, that said it was to short
Pros: Location is best if you work in Hartford Downtown. 2 bedroom flats have 2 full baths. Maintenance guys are awesome. Out of three concierges, two are good and one is the world worst concierges. Cons: One of Management Office in-charge is very rude. Doesn't know how to give respect to residents. Elevators is the biggest problem. Out of two elevators, one does not work almost all year round. Most apartments has oldest dishwasher and cooking ranges. Heating and AC unit is inside the room which makes that room noisy to sleep.
I lived in 250 Main from Jan 1st 2012 till June 30th 2013. The management had just changed and the new management was even better! Great location on bus lines, property always clean, near schools and businesses. What was really great was having 2 full bathrooms one of which attached to the master bedroom. Our apartment was on "Main St." itself so was a bit noisy with a fire department on the same street but the other directions are quiet. Other than that, I do really recommend this place.
I like this apartment because of the community is Good. Is closed to everyting. In aditional the view is espertacular.
