Element Communities Downtown Columbia

I moved into The Braxton building back in September 2023 and have loved it so much! The location is amazing as I got to Mizzou. I had gotten used to driving to Campus every other year as I lived at other properties not downtown. I without a doubt would say that this is the best complex I have lived at over the last 4 years! Very friendly and attentive staff too!

I love Element Communities, friendly office workers and maintenance is quick to solve issues. Apartments are huge and can walk to class.

Element has the best locations downtown! With huge floor plans and queen sized beds. Not to mention it is walking distance to the best bars and food!

Spent 2 years here and they have been amazing. The new management really cares about the property and their residents. The pool parties in the summer are so much fun and things get done when you ask!

Amenities are amazing. The new management team was excellent and got issues resolved! Price is justified with the location and quality of these apartments!

Bait and switch alert! My daughter was sold on a one bedroom with a balcony, which was communicated as a major perk of her floor plan when she was talking about the options with the Element employee during the leasing process. When she got her room assignment, she discovered she’s on the first floor at street level with no outdoor space at all. We would have never signed this lease had they admitted that she could be assigned a unit on the street without the balcony, not only for the loss of the outdoor space, but for the security risk of being on the ground floor. No discount in rental rate for a substandard unit. Be VERY careful about renting from this company. They’re dishonest and evasive. Never again.

terrible management, always problems with dish washer, ac and the neighbors are terrible! don’t live here unless your willing to walk down stairs with puke and rotten food all over and music blasting from midnight to 8 am! apartment was also extremely dirty when we moved in

Unkept, horrible wifi/signal making it incredibly hard to do online school, poor management. I would not live here

The property is not kept up, corridors in bad shape, poor painting and construction. Upon move in, the apartment was filthy, not move in ready, items broken. When I spoke to the management, they tried to tell me broken items would be resolved soon and I have been in there a month - still no resolution. They are quick to charge but very slow to provide service. I will not rent from here again and will caution others to my experience.

Very poorly ran. Calling to request simple tasks that take less than five minutes apparently are ranked as absolutely not important by management. A task that was requested a week and a half ago. Extremely rude, inconsiderate, and seem to be comfortable in talking down to others. Not recommended at all.

Never mentioned Academic Excellence Program ever. Terrible customer service. Foundation is falling apart.

I moved in a little over a week ago and I’ve already had so many problems, the leasing office doesn’t know what they’re doing so everything is coming full circle and all that keeps happening is I get tacked with fines and my truck gets towed while I have my pass up, overall terrible place and would never recommend to anyone with even half a brain

Location is great. A little expensive for college living but the amenities that come along with the apartments are great. Recommend to anybody looking for a place to live while at college

These are the most scandalous people you will ever do business with. They will tell you one thing but do another. Its nearly impossible to contact them unless its about signing a lease, but after that you won't hear back from them for at least a week. They are very rude and difficult to work with. They will add small charges to your bill without ever telling you. They have nice units, but idiots are running the show here. After I signed my lease they not only switched my roommates but completely switched my room. The only reason I signed was to get that specific rooms view but they switched it without my consent. Not happy with anybody here and I wish I never signed with Brookside. Biggest regret of the year.

Brookside Midtown is a great place for any college student that cares about being close to campus as well as Downtown Columbia; you're right in the middle of everything going on! The only trouble I have ever had having maintenance fix things in a timely manner. There have been a few times in which they come to fix something, don't fix it all the way, and we have to request them to come back again and sometimes it can take a little while. Other than that though, I have loved absolutely everything abouty Brookside experience!
