There's much more to Champaign's sister city of Urbana than you might think. It is a lively college town, home to the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, it has a long and fascinating history, and it is family-friendly and beautiful. While it is usually tied to its next-door twin, Urbana stands out on its own -- Downtown Urbana is the city hub, home to Market at the Square, a farmers market that began in 1979. The historic downtown features historic architecture, bike lanes (and plenty of bike racks), sidewalk cafes, period lighting, and a wide variety of shops and restaurants.
In addition to the university, Urbana is home to the Beckman Institute for Advanced Science and Technology, a research institute located on the university's campus. The neighborhood attracts those with children, thanks to its top-ranking schools, and it features beautiful parks, such as Crystal Lake Park and Meadowbrook Park.

Property Ratings at Element on Main
I’ve only been here a few months but I love my apartment. It’s very nice and Toni is super nice. When my oven wasn’t working Marty came very quickly to check it out and fix the issue! Definitely renewing for next year!
Best apartment experience I’ve ever had. I moved out of state months ago and miss my Element studio constantly. All the staff is so nice and so helpful. They’re very reasonable and accommodating if you have a request. Maintenance is taken care of promptly. Pest control is top notch. I never had problems with hearing my neighbors through the wall, and I never got complaints that people could hear me (and I’m a night owl). Love love loved having an elevator!! Gravel lot is free and I can count on one hand how many times in 2 years I couldn’t find a spot there (and I was able to street park nearby on those occasions). I loved the view from my window. Because the property is pet friendly, there was a parade of dogs outside my window whenever I worked from home. Over the two years I lived there, I got to see two adorable little puppies grow up. The windowsills in the studios are very wide, which is great for plants, decorating, clutter, and cats. And boy are there cats! I like seeing dogs as much as the next person, but I would lay down my very own life for any cat. I loved seeing all the cats in all the windows!!!! 12/10 view. Laundry machines are card only. $1.50/load, iirc. 5 minutes walk to a silver and gold line bus stop, with buses every 10 minutes or so for most of the day. A little loved walk will get you to the green line. 25 minutes walk will get you all the way to main campus. 10-15 bike ride to campus, and there are plentiful bike racks near the buildings. No one ever messed with my bike. My first winter I took my bike inside and kept it in my walk-in closet. (A studio with a walk-in closet!!!) Electric stove with oil burners and vent. Fridge and stove are small in a studio but fine for one person. Pretty good water pressure in the shower and I almost never ran out of hot water, even when I took baths or long showers. I could go on forever; I just loved this little apartment and if I could transplant it to NY I would 100% move out of my current 2BD back into my Element studio.

This is great to hear! Thank you for your kind words.
This apartment complex is absolutely not worth the money. Cons: -None of the apartments are carpeted, so the noise is very loud. -Too hot or too cold rooms because of poor insulation and bad heating system -Extremely old fixtures Stay far away and find a better place.

I am glad that you have changed your mind about us and have renewed your lease with us! We are thrilled to still have you as a satisfied tenant!
I've lived at Element on Main since June of 2016 and will be moving out July 2018. I love my apartment! The flooring is gorgeous and the appliances are all up-to-date. I love the location, which is close to campus and to downtown Urbana. My neighbors are quiet and respectful. I enjoy using the fitness and business centers. Management is friendly, respectful, and helpful and every time I've put in a maintenance request it has been completed within 48 hours.

We are so glad to hear that you are so happy with your apartment and the staff here at Element On Main! That is what it is all about: providing a great place to live!
We've been dealing with construction on the parking garage for months. It is currently 7am on a Saturday and they've woken-up the entire building once again. This is part of a pattern of disrespect and poor communication with the tenants. I cannot tell you the number of times my mornings and weekends have been disrupted by construction, painters, and pest-control (who enter our apartments when we are not here and without warning). We do not get any warning when projects are taking place or answers for when they will finish.
This complex transitioned to new ownership last year and they have invested a lot of money and effort in superficial changes (such as painting it blue and grey) but little to nothing has been done that substantially improves living conditions for tenants.
