Parker Lane is the ideal suburb with commuters. Not only is the neighborhood bounded by Interstate 35 and Highway 71, but the Austin-Bergstrom International Airport is five miles east, and Downtown Austin is five miles north. Whether you’re traveling into the city for work or play, or you’re planning some travel by air, Parker Lane is a premier place to put down roots.
If a quiet, affordable neighborhood is what you’re after, then look no further. Parker Lane is located directly east of Saint Edward’s University, and houses the Mabel Davis District Park, a sprawling area that’s home to one of Austin’s two skate parks, covering 12,000 square feet. Enjoy the park’s swimming pool, walking trails, basketball courts, and more!
Though the neighborhood is mainly residential, residents enjoy the variety of restaurants along Oltorf Street, along with the public bus stops, making getting around the area that much more convenient.

Property Ratings at Ellie Apartments
Package room/lockers always broken and the front desk refuses mail so you have to go to post office or use Amazon hub to pick up your stuff. Cars constantly broken into. We had to get our tubs resurfaces atleast 6 times which you then have to be out of the apartment all day. They don’t get you notice about anything… will only use messages in the portal and only one person gets them. Had our water turned off with no notice abunch of times. Just over all horrible experience

There are many things that have led to this rating. First, the one star is for the new look of the updated apartment. Now for the negatives. When we first moved in, we requested a repair. One month later and it still was not repaired. We had to keep making requests until it was fixed. One of my visitors parked in a spot for a few hours (2-3) and was towed with no warning. It cost about $200. Also, our vehicle was broken into months ago. The leasing office sent a notice about this recently so it must be an ongoing problem. There are no gates at this apartment complex. Finally noise can be an issue. There are several dogs that live in our building that can be heard barking day and night as well as people constantly slamming doors. Sometimes loud music is also a problem.

DO NOT MAKE THE MISTAKE OF MOVING IN HERE!!! Office staff is rude and unhelpful. I've lived in many apartment complexes and this one was the worst!

We appreciate you taking the time to leave this review. As you may know, members of the leasing staff have made attempts to get in touch with you about a few issues concerning packages and our pet policy. If you could give our manager, Jenni, a call back at (512) 256-6711 or swing by the leasing office when you have a chance, we’d like to address your concerns and as well as ours.
I have lived here for over seven years when this place was called Mission Hills and I have to say this place is going downhill fast. They can replace the flooring, paint the walls but the bones of these buildings are not good. Many units (including mine) are on a horrible slant due to the foundation and nothing is ever level. You can literally feel yourself falling forward in bed. The plumbing is a mess and most units have some form of water damage. Maintenance is lazy and it often takes multiple requests to have something fixed. The office staff is incredibly rude and condescending, except for Jorge. This place has SERIOUS issues that go ignored like black mold, ceilings rotting away due to water damage, broken tiles, etc. I do not recommend this place and I am sad to say I will not be renewing after a loyal 7 years.
The apartments themselves are okay. Good location and decent improvements being done around the property. Adding small back yards, dog park, remolded pool, are a few of the bigger things done. Nothing flashy or fancy, but that's fine for the price. The major area of concern is the management. The management at Ellie Apartments is rude and inconsiderate. The property manager completely blows off your concerns if they inconvenience him/her in the slightest. Any time we talked with him/her, we just got a fake smile and that look like all we are doing is bothering him/her. They setup a new package holding service that you have to put your credit card information in to pickup. If your're out of town, you're going to get charged for the days that your package is sitting there waiting to be picked up. We asked to opt out of it, but the property manager said we couldn't. They then told us to go and get a P.O. Box if we didn't want to use it, an absolutely ridiculous "choice" forced on you. Everyone used to just go to the office and pick up their package, but that was just a "service" that they didn't want to do anymore. If you want a decent apartment within close driving distance to the areas around town, not a bad place to be. You'll just have to deal with management that forces "improvements" on you or flat out doesn't care about your concerns.
Hopefully, you never have any problems with payment discrepancies. The office employees are particularly rude, specifically the actual manager, Jenny, and office staff, Monica. When I called to place a complaint regarding the manner in which they addressed an unfortunate bounced check (they take a full 5 days to pull from debit and I made the mistake of transferring too much to my savings too soon) they speak over you impatiently and angrily, as if you're some sort of idiot child. I even attempted to explain why I was so upset initially - I had been notified that they received payment, and they choose to notify me of a bounced check through eviction, no courtesy notice of any kind - both employees used condescending and offensive language. I'll admit I was very upset initially, but the manager refused to de-escalate the situation and added to the problem by referring to the discrepancy as a "hot-check", when I said that offended me (she's treating me as if I'm some kind of criminal for a very innocent mistake) she told me "by law, that's what it is", last time I checked, it's a bounced-check, if not something less aggressive than that. Additionally, they're charging late fees despite being notified several days late, which they insist is in the lease agreement, but no such section allows them to formally charge late fees prior to a formal notice. I tried to question a number of discrepancies between the lease agreement and T.A.A. (Texas Apartment Association) regulation and they said to bring my complaints to T.A.A, that they will not provide any additional explanations in writing aside from what they said on the phone, and denied my request to set a formal meeting by hanging up on me. Overall, very dissatisfied in the price I pay (despite their offensive accusations) and the terrible treatment I've received from all levels of staff and management.
I just moved in almost a month ago and maintenance have yet to finish my apartment. Ive called and email the front office numerous of time, they just give me the run around. After you sign the lease you are irrelevant.

This place is horrible. It is riddled with rude staff and none of the amenities can be used. The fitness equipment is always broken down and the pool is never cleaned and most of the time is drained! If you want something done, be prepared to wait 30 days because they only have 2 maintenance guys on site and one of them goes to his apartment and smokes pot throughout the day. He almost hit my car while he was in the golf cart too! No one ever answers the phone here and if you need something.... forget it! This place isn't worth the money and I feel like they don't care about the residents anymore! You best believe as long as you keep quite and pay rent you will not hear from them! Stay away! They charge you so many fees for no reason and make up policies as you go! Be educated and look at your rights as a tenant! Don't let them try to do something illegal to you!

Where should I start on this apartment complex… First off, management is horrible and the management company is worse! They never respond to anything and they claim they never get emails that you send. Everything is fine until you move in… then they want nothing to do with you! When we moved in, the apartment wasn’t even ready. The bathtub was pure black and the maintenance told me that the manager didn’t want to pay the money to resurface it. It took them 2 months to repair anything in the apartment. In addition to this, the maintenance guys left our door unlocked, left nails for the dog to eat and the AC didn’t work the whole time we were there. There is never any parking here because they let anyone park here and the gates were always breaking. In addition to this, because they were too cheap to replace a broken appliance, they put another dishwasher with roaches in our unit and gave our unit Roaches. This place is by far the worst “quality” that I have ever had. The price was good but you get what you pay for with management. The management staff is uneducated and very rude. I wouldn’t recommend anyone living here if you value quality living.

The rent here is a little expensive due to the great location. However, you get what you pay for. The staff are always friendly and helpful. If you have an issue, maintenance crew is very prompt. We had a leaky roof and they came in an hour after submitting the work request. The grounds and pool are well maintained. The apartments are located in a great neighborhood, which is hard to find on the outskirts of downtown. Also located close to many food establishments and public transportation. I have lived here for a year and have never had a problem or complaint.

Best apartment I have ever had, they are on a hill close enough to downtown to have amazing views of the skyline. Great maintenence that always shows up same day as reqeusted. All billing can be done online and in office with the lovely secretarys. Rent runs me $1200 for two bedroom with "specails" but you get what you pay for and here you get quality. Though my roof leaked during rainy season as im on third floor for the view, they had it fixed as soon as the rain stopped. Great pool maintenence and landscaping. Interior and exterior is emaculate. Apartments on third and second floors have views of sunsets on Austin. Its a gated community and I never worry about my car. Neighbors are quiet and friendly if you care to say Hi. I recommend livng here. -Current Resident Travis

I am not the type of person to complain . I am too nice and that may be my downfall . The Maintence team comes inside when I am at work and refuses to leave a note . It's both shocking and scary . This is my only thing to note . The property is in decent condition . It's the staff that needs some management changes made .

I lived at Mission Hills for two years while I was living in Austin. In that time I never had any problems with my apartment. The few times I had to submit maintenance my issues were handled the same day, or the next. There is always room for improvement, but where isn't there? It was an apartment, not my home, so I didn't expect it to be much more. Parking could be difficult sometimes, but I have lived with much worse. They added permits which helped some. If other residents would realize that parking is for the residents and not their twenty visitors I don't think this would be such an issue. For the area they're in, it's at the top of the pack. Overall I had a positive experience here, and both would and have recommended it to my friends.

They'll show you the upgraded model room to entice you into moving into Mission Hills. What they'll fail to let you know is that you will deal with the following: -Fleas -Cockroaches -Maintanence crew never showing up when asked, and then showing up when told not to -Unairconditioned laundry facilities that may or may not work -Cops being called on your neighbors several times a week -Hidden fees upon moving out -Rent being raised if you decide to renew -Ceiling leaks -Gated community that rarely has the gates working -etc. Decided to look somewhere else? I hope so too.
