With its false-front architecture and period lighting, Downtown La Crosse struts its Old West stuff, overflowing with antique stores, art galleries, boutiques, restaurants, and theaters. Downtown La Crosse is situated near two universities and a college: the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse, Viterbo University, and Western Technical College. As a result, Downtown La Crosse has a fun side: it's walkable, bicycle-friendly, and offers events like the Friday night Farmer's Market at Cameron Park and a pub crawl on two wheels -- the Beer by Bike Brigade.
Whether it's relaxing by the river or exploring the downtown shops, Downtown La Crosse is a great place to live. Relax and listen to live music at the Bodega Brew Pub or attend the Between the Bluffs Beer, Wine, and Cheese Festival in April. Catch a performance at the Pump House Regional Arts Center or admire the outdoor art throughout downtown: Ribbon V, Family, Fledgling, A Simpler Time, and Harmony and Peace.

Property Ratings at Elliott Arms Apartments
As a long time resident of Elliott Arms I am thankful for the attention to detail that the staff and management put in to making this a wonderful place to call home. The building is well cared for inside and out with timely upgrades and the on-call maintenance is excellent. Having a secure and inviting lobby with indoor mail and package delivery is greatly appreciated. All of this and more is reflected in the kindness and consideration of the wide range people that have lived here over the years. It shows that taking care of the physical structure of this little community helps take care of the social structure. Thank you. Peggy
I retired and sold my country home to move to La Crosse to be closer to friends and find a smaller home in town. Temporarily rented a one bedroom at Elliott Arms. Four years later, I am still here. I realized Elliott Arms has everything I need: lots of friendly in-house neighbors; a clean, safe environment only a few walkable blocks from grocery shopping, downtown La Crosse, the Mississippi River, and bike trails; plus attentive and capable management. Who knew downsizing could be so painless!!!
Quiet building close to a hospital and two universities. There is a public library within walking distance, as well as a co-op and farmers market. Interior of the apartment is clean, and spacious. Heat and water are included. The kitchen is a little small, with a smaller stove, but is still able to do some serious baking and cooking
This is a great and safe apartment located between University of Wisconsin- La Crosse and downtown. It is a good price that includes heat and water in rent. The landlord and maintenance people are very friendly and helpful. Another aspect of this apartment that I enjoyed is the fact that a wide range of ages of people live in this place!
Overall a very nice apartment, well maintained and the manager knows everyone by name - a very nice individual. The only gripe I have is that as soon as our one year lease was up, which stated the lease would be extended on like terms, the owners stated they would not renew it on like terms and there would be an extra $75 per month charge for month to month on top of our new higher rent price, or we would have to sign for another year for an increased price, but better than the $75/mo. extra.
