Good place to live excellent location. Close to restaurants, lakes and centrally located. Something for every enthusiasts. Walking trails local shopping, dinning, concerts, bus line, access to lakes kayaking and fishing biking.

Lovely building and great units inside. However management leave a lot to be desired. Weve had repeated security issues in the parking garage (which isnt cheap) and they dont do anything to resolve this, they dont even have cameras in there. I feel we are not being taken seriously when our personal property has been stolen and damaged.

Location is great. There is a lovely pond in the backyard, along with a park that we enjoy using with our golden retriever. I can also walk to a coffee shop, grocery store, or out for dinner. Love this location!

The staff here are amazing. Kristen was the most helpful person I've encountered when moving into a new apartment. She made everything super smooth and easy for us! She found a unit within our budget that had everything we were looking for. It's extremely clean here, too - it reminds me of a 5 star hotel! Kudos to the team. You can tell they really care and work hard to take care of things here. The maintenance team is fantastic and handled a few minor requests immediately and were so polite and efficient. If you aren't sure where to rent, seriously give Ellipse a try. The location is perfect - walking distance to the lakes and parks and still super close to Minneapolis without all of the noise. This is the best place I've lived yet!

The building itself is great and the maintenance staff is very responsive. However, if you value having a good property manager then consider any other apartment complex in the area. I had a noise issue that went on for MONTHS and the management team put in minimal effort to resolve this problem. I couldn't even have friends or family over because the noise was so bad. The tenant causing the issue moved out after seven months. I finally have a more normalized stay, but I can't wait until my lease is up. Think twice before signing a lease!!

After your initial request for assistance with your neighbor we conducted regular follow ups with both you and your neighbor regarding their behavior/noise levels. You had indicated that this would resolve for a short period of time in your communication with our team's follow ups. Due to covid, please understand that there was (and still is) an eviction moratorium where a person/family/household cannot be displaced from their housing. We were able to arrange your neighbor to exit the community within 4 months from the initial complaint in the middle of a pandemic. All things considered, our team has worked diligently to assist you and ensure that all members of the community are treated in a fair and equal manner. It is a very friendly community, with nice amenities. The apartments are quiet and very up-to-date. Maintenance issues are addressed very quickly and the grounds well maintained. I have enjoyed living here now for almost 2 years and love the location.

This was once a beautiful building with a top notch management. The building was sold and it has deteriorated badly and the management is poor. However, it has a good location.

When it first opened 10 years ago this was a beautiful had an outstanding management. Things have gone downhill in the last 10 years but this apartment still has a great location.

The location is hard to beat. Having a small park and walking path behind the building doesnt hurt, either. Most other apartment buildings I looked at were surrounded by more concrete jungle and little else. My experience with the management staff has been excellent. They are always friendly and helpful. The building, while fairly new, is being updated and improved upon which is nice. All in all, I am quite content to live in a great neighborhood and secure building.

I wouldn't recommend Greystar as a property management company...
We feel this is a very safe and quiet community. We love the location and the management is nice. Aside from some general noise above there is not much to complain about. Great area.

I had visited several buildings the day that I came to check out The Ellipse. I did not have an appointment. I was immediately welcomed and was showing the building and one available unit straightaway. I kept checking back online to see if a unit that fit my needs would be available. Luckily, one was. I have had nothing but enjoyable experiences with all of the staff. The location is excellent, the building is super quiet, and the area behind the building to walk my dog is very convenient. I would easily recommend this building for anyone who wants to be close to the city and all of its amenities.

The Ellipse and E2 buildings are the best place to live around here. Good value for the price. Quality apartments. Amazing management and maintenance team. You want to live here.

Used to be a great place to live but not so with new management. Disappointing as the location is fabulous. Management needs to look st client experience. Communication and professionalism is crucial.

The apartment building that I moved from had twice as much space and high-end finishes for only $50 more per month, while everything here is just basic. Several things were not working upon move-in and required multiple work orders to make the place livable. Residents let their dogs leave messes in hallways and elevators without cleaning them up. There is no sound-proofing. We hear the neighbor's every move and every word, including their midnight screaming matches. We have to compete with the valet queue for the restaurant downstairs to be able to get in or out of the garage. Make sure that you don't sign anything or pay anything until you see the exact unit that they want to lease to you. Management staff have been responsive, but there's only so much they can do.

I was looking for an upscale dwelling with extra amenities both in the unit and the property. I also needed a place that would allow me to bring my dog. The availability of properties with the amenities I wanted and also accepting pets were few and far between. At least in the area in which I wanted to reside. Ive found the ellipse to be especially pet friendly.
Since new management Greystar took over there has been significantly lowered quality in areas like common hallways, and garage cleanliness, office stuff and their responsiveness or luck of it.

I thought the team at Elipse on Excelsior was very professional. From the tour and explanation of the units, to the whole lease and move-in process. My apartment looked brand new on move-in and very clean. I would recommend this complex for anyone looking to live in a great looking and safe area,
Great place, friendly staff, well maintained, love living here.
The management is hard to work with. First, they charged us for swiffering the "wrong direction" when we cleaned up. Literally, we had done it horizontally instead of vertical so they charged us for that. The room was spotless compared to the dog hair mess we moved into. Second, we were given false information regarding parking options when we moved in. They made it sound like getting a 2nd spot was an easy option. Instead, when it came time to actually get them, they changed their minds and only offered a "flex" spot for a ridiculous price. Not worth the trouble since you cant even park there most of the day. Don't get fooled by the location. It is not worth the price to live here and there are many better options that dont make false promises.
After downsizing from a home in the suburbs to the Ellipse, I have nothing but positive things to say about my experience here... I never anticipated enjoying apartment living quite so much, and am more than satisfied with so many things: the location (I love the proximity to Lake Calhoun & Uptown, as well how convenient it is to walk to the grocery store, CVS, the dentist, & more); the resident events (fantastic & fun, they've given me the opportunity to meet my neighbors and make new friends); the underground parking (complete with a free car wash, vacuum & air for tires); the free use of bicycles; the beautiful lounge (complete with computers and printers); the fitness room (I love the time it saves me from having to drive to a gym); the party/recreation room (complete with a complimentary Caribou coffee station!) and of course, the wonderful staff. I can't say enough about what a class act this team is, in everything they do for the residents here... While very professional, they are, at the same time compassionate, kind, fun, very helpful and responsive. I will be renewing my lease next month and look forward to warmer weather and enjoying the beautiful views from the rooftop deck! (Great place for cocktails and last years 4th of July party was spectacular...). I will add that while I don't have a dog, it's a great place to live with one and I've never heard any noise or barking while I'm in my apartment. I've met many furry friends which I've also enjoyed. The Ellipse is kept immaculate and clean, and I'm proud to call this my home...
