Adjacent to downtown New Haven, Yale campus, and Yale New Haven Hospital, Dwight is a popular location for students, faculty, university staff, and healthcare professionals. The neighborhood includes the Dwight Street Historic District, renowned for its eclectic variety of Victorian architectural styles.
The close proximity to campus means that locals have access to the extensive dining, entertainment, and nightlife attracted by the student body – A seemingly-endless selection of locally-owned pizza parlors in and around the Dwight neighborhood ensures that you’ll eventually find your all-time favorite spot to grab a slice.

Property Ratings at Embassy Apartments
A few tips for future renters: 1) Buy yourself a happy lamp or a lot of standing lamps. The apartments are very dark and devoid of sunlight. You may even find that the lamps in newly renovated units contain only 1 instead of 3 working bulbs. 2) Expect a lot of action before inspections, but do not think your other complaints are dealt with promptly. The 24/7 hotline is rarely answered, especially not after daytime. The voice mail box is full. 3) Get yourself some mousetraps and moth repellents. Thank me later. 4) If you get an email saying your rent check has not been received, check with your bank. I got such an email even though the check has been cashed in. I still have not received an answer or an apology for that. 5) Prepare to fight for your security deposit or say goodbye to it. I haven’t received mine back despite having moved out four months ago. 6) The building is old and unstable. Once, the bedroom ceiling fell down on us at night. We were lucky that we only got minor scratches. Don’t expect to be treated well by the landlady if that happens to you. 7) Anything good to say? The superintended is nice and helpful. I wish the same can be said about management.
Do yourself a favor, and do not bother with Embassy Apartments, no matter how attractive the units seem. The staff engages in the most unprofessional behavior I have ever encountered and tries to normalize it by insisting they have "always done things this way." I was offered one rate on a unit, only then to be told minutes later that it wouldn't be possible. The lease for the unit I was interested then included the wrong address and wrong rent amount. Even then, I was willing to look past these missteps. After we had discussed the unit in detail, I had applied, and been offered a lease, I was told minutes later the unit was off market because they convinced another tenant to offer rent and deposit on the spot without examining the lease. Go with another company and save yourself the frustration of dealing with this unprofessional, exploitative company.
Their word means nothing. We went to see an apartment, liked it well enough, we asked the price in the apartment, it seemed fair and we decided to go for it, got the lease with the same price we were told, because why wouldn’t it be and we signed. We then got a call a day later and they told us, they accidentally told us the wrong price and sent us a lease with the wrong price and suggested we come down and sign a lease for $60 more per month ($720 a year) and bring a new check for their magic new price. We asked them to keep the price we AGREED ON and they refused. If trying to raise the price after the lease is signed isn’t slummy I don’t know what is.
