I recently lived at this apartment complex, and while the exterior gives off a luxurious vibe, my experience was far from satisfactory. Several issues marred my stay: Maintenance Problems: The call boxes, security locks, and garage doors were frequently malfunctioning, posing security concerns. Pest Issues: There were persistent rodent problems throughout the property, which impacted the overall living environment. Security Concerns: Squatters on the premises were a known issue, and despite bringing it to the attention of the Office Manager, no action was taken. Unprofessional Staff: Unfortunately, I encountered rude and unprofessional behavior from both maintenance and office staff. Additionally, there were instances of homophobic behavior, creating an uncomfortable living atmosphere. Infrastructure and Cleanliness: Thin walls made for a less-than-ideal living situation, and the presence of dog poop in hallways and common areas was a recurring problem. Management Issues: The frequent turnover of office staff is concerning, and the fire alarms consistently going off added to the overall frustration. I strongly urge the management company to conduct a thorough audit of the property's operations and consider significant renovations to improve the living conditions for all residents. Prospective tenants, please explore alternative housing options before committing to this property.

Do not fall for the facade , Rents are in line with areas with more amenities and less headaches . Property looks well kept until you move in .. Gates constantly broken.. No call box to buzz in your guests, do not get me started about that , they lie all the time , Claimed they were getting call boxes last year, that never happened . Charging $20 for visitor parking, which is sick I have seen other complexes charge but not $20 like stop trying to gauge your tenants, Defiantly should be free considering you have to go through hell to let them into the garage. And provide real amenities not just a pool and that gym where most of the equipment is broken , and has been broken way before I ever moved here. Trash rooms are disgusting , they have never cleaned them , Pressure washing them would not hurt ... The residents drop trash in the garage , they walk their dogs in the garage allowing them to use the bathroom in the hallways and the garage area. Rental office does nothing to try to combat this , but will attempt to fine you for placing your trash outside to early. Trash removal is 7 days a week , unfortunately there are no standards to anything that they do . I have had Valet Trash for the last 7 years , lets just say this last year has been less they stellar , No trash cans available at move in . I am pretty sure that the company they are using are just some random people who pitched their services. Save your time and money look any where but here...

I’ve lived here for 6 months now. The first 5 ish months were ok. I put in maintenance requests for little things that weren’t answered, staff were nonchalant about missing packages even though we have Luxer lockers so that won’t happens, etc. However, this past month is where things took a turn for the worse. I asked before moving in, if they had issues with rodents because I’m completely terrified. A few weeks ago we saw a mouse in our apartment and I’m almost certain I heard them in the walls. Pest control came out and laid glue traps, and it seems like the problem got worse after that. The mouse or rats Bc idk at this point literally ate through the glue traps. I’ve put in request, spoke to leasing staff and everyone is too nonchalant about this. I pay too much money in rent to be roommates with rodents. Staff is not handling this issue appropriately and I can’t wait until my lease ends so I can move. Please don’t move here. This apartment costs too much, just for the appearance of luxury because the services definitely aren’t.

I have been here for 5 years. I recently moved to the 4th floor from the first floor. Depending on which side you move on the first floor, be prepared for water bugs. Our whole time there we had an infestation of them. When I first noticed them, I went to management and requested to move to a higher floor. I was told nothing was available and we could the apartment treated. Their idea of treatment was to replace the patio door stripping, which they did. Every week we had the exterminator. Not until we decided to move to the 4th floor, I was told there was no way of getting rid of them due to the bushes. This apartment complex is in dire need to major renovations.

When I called to book my tour I was told 930 was great. Sometime between sat and Monday morning that changed. I wasn’t updated that my tour was canceled. When I arrived for the tour I was then notified that my tour was canceled and would have to reschedule. I don’t live in MD so that was a hassle.

The staff are always very friendly! The maintenance and cleaning crew wave as I drive by in the garage and the reception staff are very quick to answer. However, they are largely ineffective. The dishwasher has been broken since I've moved in with a part on "back order" for over a year. It took the crew two weeks to fix my AC when it went out. Overall the place looks nice, but is fairly cheap. The plastic on the cabinets has melted away around the over. The bathroom hardware has fallen off from general use despite being fixed twice. There are about three people with LOUD cars that will drown out your TV and have woken me on multiple occasions. The white car is the absolute loudest; it almost seems like he purposely revs his engine to be obnoxious. With no restrictions on the lease about this, there isn't anything to do about it. I had really high hopes for this place given the friendly staff, but I would never recommend this place.

Last week I moved into my new apartment. Due to covid I decided to lease completely sight unseen although the leasing office is open. The on-site staff completely understood that I preferred not to come to the office and I never felt that I was a bother with my 101 questions and emails. I needed to move rather quickly and the process was easy. When I moved in I was impressed with all of the safety efforts I saw taking place ( signage, masks, the smell of cleaning products). The apartment looked exactly the way the leasing agent said it would and I feel great about my decision!

I have lived at Emerson a few days shy of a year and since move in, I have received nothing but exceptional customer service and living conditions. The office staff answered all of my questions and gave me detailed information about the property before I signed my lease. Once my lease was signed, the move in process was seamless. I haven't had to contact them for anything as of late, except for when I locked myself out. Lauren came and let me in my apartment within 3 minutes of me calling so I could look for the keys I eventually found. The maintenance staff has been super helpful since move in. I broke the knob on my washer at least 3 times since moving in and they have always come the same day I put my request in, especially Omar. He has been super accommodating - never complaining and always showing up on time with a smile. Stu has also gone above and beyond helping me out one morning I came out to a flat tire. He happily pumped up my tire for me. Overall, I have had nothing but a positive experience since I moved in.

Living at the Emerson has been a terrible experience. Everything is always broken and takes months to be fixed. The garage doors are always broken, doors remain broken, equipment at the gym, ACs within the hallways and the elevators do not have working ACs. The leasing office and its staff are completely incompetent, extremely rude and I've always left the office with unresolved issues and total frustration. The lack of care within the leasing office is appalling. Stay away, keep your money and do not let this place overcharge you for such terrible service.

I have been on the manhunt for a new place to stay since I relocated here a year ago. I’ve been paying $3100 a month for a suite in a hotel (crazy right!??) for a year. For money purposes obviously and to finally feel like the DMV is my new home I was seeking out an apartment that was in a prime location, fit my needs, and fit my budget (the goal is buy a home within next 18-24 months). Mike and his team were inviting and kind and patient. He was willing to respond to my emails and calls and was very responsive to understanding what I was seeking in a new home. The application process literally took only a few hours (IF THAT!). He was flexible about my move in date and willing to accommodate my schedule (as I work from home and needed a few more weeks to save up more for furniture and final move in costs etc.) NO HAGGLE NO HASSEL NO PRESSURE none of the turn offs I was experiencing with other properties. looking to get Apartement in less then 48 hours? That’s what happened to me I went to Mike all he did take my application online 3 min exactly after I finished my application he called me tell me that’s I was pre approved he did send me email telling what kind of document he need. I tell him I want to see the apartment because I cannot rent something just by picture he did send the best of his employees with me after hours my parent and I loved the apartment then I send him the document, less then 12 hours he called me and tell me I got my final approval and now I can move from today. Less then 2 days I got my apartment. If you guys talking about Customer Services is MIKE and you need quality is the apartment. The headline explains it all. The trash rooms are located in the garage so it's no wonder why we have mice. No mice traps in the trash rooms for some odd reason smh. Nice apts but the mice are disgusting. And people that don't live here break into the building every day. No cameras in the buildings or garages.

I am shocked this place has a 5 star review. It has to be for the little perks here and there because customer service was awful. My husband and I were coming in to get a tour of a unit. Upon arrival to the location, we had to look around to see who to speak to. We were then met with an associate who appeared to not care about a thing. This associate barely spoke to us, took us to a unit, said three words then promptly leaned against a wall and tended to their cellphone. Didn’t explain any details of the unit, amenities, nothing. We had to ask questions and were given one word answers. Then we ended up just asking for a pamphlet with info and was a given a folder. No goodbye, no interaction. If you don’t want to do your job then don’t do it! First impressions are everything and I would never rent from this place. Lack of care or explanation was enough for us to quickly leave. The entire tour lasted 3mins. Never have experienced such poor customer service.

I lived here for over 2 years (moved out now), and here are my thoughts. Pros: -Amenities (great resort-style pool, nice 24 hour fitness center, handy parking garage, good floor plan, etc.) -Location (walking distance to lake/park, movie theater, town center, groceries) -Balcony (each apartment building has an interior courtyard, so every apartment has a balcony) -Package pick up (Automated locker system allowing pick up at any time) -Media center/clubhouse (never used it, but looked very nice) -Planned social events -Maintenance on site, very friendly and helpful -Elevators -Office staff were helpful as well Cons: -Building security (Multiple key fob door locks, including from a busy road/sidewalk, were broken for a long time so anyone could come in) -Parking garage security (garage doors entrances were usually broken, allowing either anyone in or no one. And no security cameras in the garage other than by the entrances, so when my parents tires got slashed and car door kicked in there were no cameras to figure who did it. And who is out here slashing tires and kicking car doors anyways??) -Though the complex reminds everyone that no drugs are allowed, including marijuana, you can smell marijuana and find drug remains in the back entrance stairwells. -Some graffiti in the entrance areas from the sidewalk (likely due to broken locks) Overall, it wasn’t too bad but wasn’t the best. Like any place, there are good and bad things, and it just depends what things matter most to you.
Do your due diligence. If you want to pay rent at a place where the parking garage gate is always broken, the entry security doors can be opened without a key fob and the smell of dog pee and pooh in the elevator this is the place to be! This is only a fraction of the many things this apartment complex lack! Lastly, don’t let the exterior of the building fool you!
I have lived here since November 2016 and I have only complained of one issue, which obviously the management is not able to take care. Is either they are afraid of the neighbor or is one of them stomping on my head at every opportunity. I have called laurel police severally, yet no intervention. Left a voice message on the maintenance and the number called back, the person heavily snoring, could not talk. There is no security. I worked late one night and the security guy was busy on the phone blocking my view with high power. The location of course is great for my job and school. But what's the point when I can't call this place a home. Constant headache because of lack of sleep. I have tried not to review them negatively, but management doesn't care about the residents at all. Is all about money.
Living here will be fine--aside from doors that are always broken and the smell of weed in hallways-- but be prepared to be taken advantage of upon move out. They are attempting to keep our entire security deposit request more for an apartment left in amazing condition. We scrubbed floors on our hands and knees (floors that were given to us dirty enough that our feet turned black, mind you) and they're charging us $120 for cleaning. After pushing back, we will be reaching out to corporate and reporting them to the BBB.
The apartments themselves may be nice, but the complex is completely mismanaged. Not worth it at all. Discovered mold in my apt. Lydia (manger) told me lie after lie & never followed through with anything. Received many rashes and had terrible allergies due to mold.
When I first viewed our apartment at the Emerson it felt like home. Kathy in the rental office was extremely helpful and very welcoming. They were running a great promo when we moved in, we couldn't resist. Our apartment is everything we could've dreamed of its spacious, were on one side the kids are on the other.... GREAT FLOORPLAN ! Now the amenities are a plus there is a pool ( just wish the sun hit it more), 24 fitness center, movie theater and a lot more. My only downfall w/ the property is PARKING ! Now your apartment comes w/ one space but if you have 2 adults then you have to pay a monthly fee for an additional space or run the risk of parking outside and there's no guarenteed you'll have some place to park .... So that's very frustrating. Another negative is its suppose to be a secured building but the gates are always broken, management needs to come up w/ a new solution or take suggestions . And lastly we have 4 or 5 courtyards no uses or barely uses, considering there are children who live on the property it would be nice if they utilized one of these courtyards for a playground ... Just a thought, but over all I love living at the Emerson and would recommend it to anyone.
The location is perfect with access to public transportation, and walking distance to a brand new shopping center. The front office staff is actually helpful, and understanding. Large apartments, and grounds are reasonably well kept. Now the downs; The parking garage is a pretty hazardous, motorist drive too fast while in the garage. Some petty theft was a problem also, but the management did hire an off duty police officer to patrol the area. All in all I would recommend the property.
Great Place, location is amazing. Management is great. Maintenance is timely. Valet trash is the most concern since it comes to early.
This is a good choice if you are looking for a place to live that has covered parking...
This is the perfect building if you want access to everything: shopping, fine dining, gas stations, movies, you name it. The city of Laurel is right in the middle of your hands. The complex is beautifully kept, and the amenities are gorgeous. The staff is very warm and friendly, and they make sure to cater to your needs. Because of the location, rent for the units change every week, and they don't decrease until early/late summer. You are basically paying for the dimensions of your room and your utilities. However, if you want quality, this apartment complex is worth looking at.
