I've lived in 4 different apartment complexes across Charlotte, and this is the worst one I've ever lived in. It started off great, the manager held a unit for us for 3 weeks. But when we moved in, no improvements were made. The carpet should have been replaced prior to us moving in as there were HUGE stains everywhere. The cabinets were scratched up. The unit was in shambles. It took months to get things fixed. Our circuit shorted so many times in one of the bedrooms and they took like 8 months to get it replaced. A $60 part took 8 months to swap out. Also, we were told they were going to renovate the units, even with us in them, like 3 or 4 months after we moved in. And that NEVER happened. There were constantly cockroaches in our unit. And then, when we finally moved out, they never sent us any move-out paperwork. I had to go to the bank to get a cashier's check the day it was due because nobody told us anything about the process. I had to work with someone in Oklahoma because the office is so incompetent. And then they botched our security deposit refund. Do not live here, there are several complexes around the area that are far better.

I would NOT recommend this apartment complex to anyone! Your money would be better spent at another apartment. We had very poor interactions with office staff. On two separate occasions we were told we owed an amount only for that amount to later change (once at move-in and once at move-out). Our vehicle was broken into while we were living at the apartment and there was hardly any communication from management. No follow-up concerning the investigation or steps that were being taken to track down the criminals. Lastly, we left our apartment in excellent condition moving out only to be charged $50!!! for "drywall repair." This was after working closely with management and turning in our keys early because we were told no one would be there to accept our keys on our move out date.

Wait for updates*** I just heard the police say there were more than I posted below. WHAT IF A WOMAN, CHILD, or ANYONE ELSE WALKED OUT AND CAUGHT THESE PEOPLE IN THE ACT??? TO KNOW THE STERLING GROUP DID NOTHING?!? You don’t deserve our money. How many cars have to be broken into for this complex to take this seriously? 2 of our cars were broken into not too long ago and I was told the cameras are “too expensive to be installed and this happens in every complex”. 8 cars were broken into in the same part of the complex tonight with two others being damaged while 3 men attempted to break into them. This is all caught on camera! I guarantee the damage that has been done and the emotional distress is way more than the amount I was quoted by the regional manager for an actual surveillance camera. Even after My cars were broken into (we had no valuables) I had to contact the complex again to remind them to send an email to all residents making them aware of the situation (they originally told me they were going to do this). I have loved the residents here but, the property management doesn’t seem to care. I have lived all over and never been through what I have all because the company and management doesn’t feel the need to. I know about 20 people who plan on not renewing and telling everyone not to live here unless The Enclave makes some major changes. I don’t understand why we pay what we pay and more isn’t done. $20 a month per apartment for valet trash is more than enough to pay for trash disposal service, trash pickup, and some kind of security measures.
