Located in Downtown Seattle, First Hill is the city’s first neighborhood. The historic neighborhood is also known as “Pill Hill” for its abundance of medical and research institutions, such as Swedish Hospital and Virginia Mason Medical Center. First Hill is also home to Seattle University and the famed Frye Art Museum. Defined by steep hills, First Hills juxtaposes the old and new with historic brick apartment buildings, modern high-rise apartments, and charming houses. First Hill is extremely walkable and there are a variety of shops and restaurants in the neighborhood for residents to enjoy. Living in First Hill also places resident minutes from some of the city’s most popular hotspots like Capitol Hill, the International District, and Lower Queen Anne, home of the iconic Space Needle. First Hill has several rail stations and Interstate 5 runs on the western edge of the neighborhood making traveling through downtown easy.

Property Ratings at Envoy
While the rent used to be very reasonable at this location, it has recently increased to the point where what you get is not worth what you are paying. There are no amenities other than a paid laundry facility. This listing states that there is bike storage, which there is not. Packages are frequently stolen from the lobby as they are left unsecured on a table that you can see through the large front door of the building. The front door has had issues since moving in, sometimes closing so slowly that people can easily walk in behind you, the glass being broken and replaced with plywood for months before being fixed, etc. Since the building is old there are frequently water shutoffs to work on plumbing issues. Cars are frequently broken into in the area and parking is very difficult due to the St. James Cathedral patrons parking on the street during services. There is also lots of construction and ambulance noise 24/7. This aprtment is more trouble than its worth.
