Please, anyone reading 1 and 2 star reviews please understand they are either super picky or FAKE! I have been living here for 4yrs and the complex is absolutely beautiful. It is very quite, clean,wonderful staff and neighbors are fantastic! I can not say how happy I am living here. I looked at 10 similar complexes before moving here and im confident I made the right choice. Great complex, excellent living conditions. Cold AC, beautiful pool....etc 5 stars!
I’ve lived at the epic for almost 15 months now and I can honestly say that it’s by far my favorite. Vanessa and her staff at the office have been exceptional. Maintenance is great here and I never have to wait days to get something fixed. If I wasn’t building a home I’d sign another lease here without hesitation.

We have lived here several months now and had many problems with this apartment complex. Most of these problems revolve around the office playing the blame game and taking no responsibility for anything on the grounds. The gate systems have been broken for a long time and are in desperate need of some TLC. The pool was closed for many weeks on end through summer as well as it was chained closed with a giant chain and lock. Dog stations are left on attended from long periods of time where dog poop overflows and stations are left with no bags to pick up after animal. When we were in the process of moving into this apartment the leasing office emailed us a list of all the names and phone numbers of people who had applied for this apartment in the past. Overall very unsatisfied with my experience at the Epic. I would not recommend friends or family to move in here. The noise from other apartments is very very loud and the smell of cigarettes and marijuana can be smelt day and night.

The Epic boasts luxury living but our experience has been less than luxurious. While granite counters are nice, the stainless steel appliances leave much to be desired. Our freezer has broken at least once a year due to faulty equipment. Our dishwasher does not fully wash the dishes. There is a constant film on them. The community itself also has its flaws. The grass is continually allowed to grow extremely tall before cutting, there are bushes that block your line of sight when trying to pull out, the dog park has broken equipment, mud pits, and tall grass, the gates are constantly broken, and the grills don't work half the time due to grease build up. Our dealings with management have always lead to extremely lengthy turnaround times because everything must go to corporate for approval. We have been here a few years and have seen a steady decline in the property. If asked if I would have moved in knowing all of these things I could honestly say I wouldn't have.

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE LISTEN TO THE REVIEWS. If I could I would give this place zero stars!! I wish I listened to the reviews and moved on. This place sucks. The management is AWFUL and they were not helpful from the start whatsoever. It was always so hard to get a hold of someone. After signing a lease and paying our deposit and our rent for the rest of the month, FOUR days before our move in date they called us and told us that the tenants in the unit decided they weren't going to move out and that there was a unit available but it was $200 more a month and wouldn't even consider matching the price on the lease that we signed. So now were having to find another place to move into in 3 days and living 7 hours away it is all really hard and inconvenient. We had all our utilities set up there, our moving company was set to deliver our stuff that Saturday. It is pretty gutsy that they would mess with a military family and not even offer us any sort of compensation. Don't rent here. Please.
Short Version: I feel that something dishonest & confusing is happening in regards to customer service. We’ve filed 4 work order requests and have walked in the front office 4 times to get our windows and blinds fixed. With the addition of 1 phone call we’ve had to ask to get our windows and blinds fixed 9 times and no one has come to help us. Dear Reader of this review. Ask yourself, if this is the quality customer service you want to be a part of when it comes to living somewhere. Long Version Disappointed, confused & offended...but let me explain. My wife and I are moving out of the Epic March 4th 2018. We’ve been working very hard to make sure that the next owner of the apartment can have a smooth transition into what they will call their home. This includes cleaning the shower, bathroom, mopping, scrubbing, repainting, dusting & much more. However we needed some help from the Epic with some issues we had with the window frames in our living room & bedroom, haven’t received any help. We filed a work order December 27th, 2017, to have these window frames & blinds replaced. After the new year I walked in to the front office to see if I could receive some help in fixing our blinds & windows. Front office said they would look into it and have the windows & blinds fixed. A little more than week passed and I received a confirmation email that our “windows & blinds” have been fixed on January 24th at 3:00. I decided to drive by the apartment to confirm. However to my surprise this was untrue and our issue was not addressed. It was a blatant lie. Confused, I decided to walk to the front office and ask what was going on. I was informed that the repair man had closed out all the work orders and was on the job doing them today. I figured I’d wait a few days and come back to check on the apartment, however later on, we were informed by the front office that the repairman had now been let go. Since then, we’ve walked into the front office a total of 4 times to ask if we can get our windows and blinds fixed. We’ve also filed 2 more work orders including 1 more today (February 25th 2018 In closing, (whoever is reading this) ask yourself with all the information provided...would you want to be treated like this, despite you being as positive, respectful and patient as possible realizing people make mistakes. Do you want this from a Apartment Complex.

This property has an infestation with silverfish. Yes, I know we are in Florida and you will see silverfish every "now and then", but seeing silverfish EVERYDAY in your unit is a MAJOR PROBLEM. If you as a resident, want to escalate an issue please do not think YOU will get anything resolved with the Property Manager Carol or the Regional Manager, Jennifer Burke. The Regional Manager will NEVER call you back (even if you called her several times and left voice messages). This property is not PROACTIVE at anything. So, if you want unwanted silverfish living with you, that do not pay ANY RENT, cannot be claimed as dependents on your tax return and Management that will NOT follow-up with you, then I welcome you to the Epic at Gateway. I warned you!

She empowers an amazing team including Annie, Milton & Randy!! Multitasking while deftly defusing ever-arising challenges is just amazing. Consistently identifying ways to improve and expand on our Apartment Home lifestyle is exciting, each month we see their hard work come to fruition with new events and on-site spa services - you can't find this anywhere else, I've looked. Stephanie's innate character of inspiring positive apartment home life, sense of honor and humor makes her remarkable. The same can be said by the brilliant team she empowers to champion the Epic Lifestyle too. Reading negative reviews like the one below about "glitz & glam," is deeply disappointing as a resident. I can say this because I consider myself to have been one of the most demanding, uncompromising and often insensitive residents with regard to the staff, I've found myself frustrated at various things, it's how they responded and what was fixed that matters most to me - and I can't fault them, they rise to the occasion every time. The residents who live here are great people and we have a safe and gorgeous home environment that you can't find in this zip code elsewhere. If you're upset about your inability to pay, which upon reading some other posts, it sounds like your misdirecting your frustrations, talk to the office - I believe they could help you out. About the "filth" it's important to put some context that we live in a heavily wooded area with mischievous possums (a single Rooster too!) which like to come out at night and make a mess. That's why Epic invested in humane traps, installed DOUBLE locks on the valet trash bins and pressure washes all common areas. These negative posts, are materially misrepresentations of fact, if I were you I would take them down - it's almost libelous and not just to the staff yet also to the majority of residents here at Epic who take great pride in our home and little community.
We were one of the first residents to move in with a 14 month lease (3 bed & garage), and until the place started filling up, we loved it. Now we hate it? Why? The property is filthy and ill-maintained. Sure, the clubhouse is gorgeous and the property is new... but look past all the glitter and dazzle... look at the buildings where people live! Staff won't pick up pet feces in the hallways (and there is always some! yuck!), they don't pick up the daily litter in the hallways so you have to trip over your neighbors trash for weeks! Office staff is rude and turnover is high. Overpriced, cheap fancy looking appliances, and the staff is always trying to play a game of "gotcha" with the residents. No reserved parking, so that's a big hassle too. They don't care about the residents.

Not worth the beautiful apartments. Dealing with the front desk is a nightmare. They are unorganized, incompetent, and clock watchers. They deposited my final rent check to the wrong account and have not responded to my emails. Horrible service. Ridiculously expensive to get out of a lease. You loose your deposit, have to pay back concession, and have to continue to pay rent until someone rents your unit. I called when I realized they didn't credit my account for my last months rent, and was told that the manager was too busy eating to take my call. HORRIBLE SERVICE.

I moved down from Boston a little over a month ago. When I drove into this complex I imeditatly knew it was a perfect fit for me! It had a swimming pool and hot tub area with cabana seating, a state of the art gym, a coffee house and clubhouse, and even a mini movie theater! I feel safe in this gated community, and never fear walking to my car at night by myself. The staff and everyone else who lives here is so nice. It is close to school, restaurants and any store you could possibly need. I would recommend The Epic at Gateway to anyone who needs a safe, beautiful and fun place to live in the Saint Peteraburg area!

I recently moved into the Epic at Gateway apartment complex and when I wake up every morning I feel like I am resort living. Upon driving into the complex, one feels as though the are arriving at their vacation resort, the keyless entry makes it very convenient to enter the gate and apartments. The amenities such as the pool, full gym, spa, movie theatre and clubhouse go above and beyond the expectation. I have not rented in years but am glad that I happened upon my new home.
