**Note: I'm the current tenant posting with permission of property manager, and the content of this posting contains my own observations/opinions that are not necessarily that of Cal-Prop Management Inc. I'm almost sad to leave the unit, but I was in San Diego on military orders for a year. My time is up! Unit 5 is a cozy apartment located off El-Cajon. Let me tell you why you'd like to live here. 1) There's a good, discount grocery within 5 minutes of driving (Grocery Outlet Bargain Market). 2) Although on-site laundry is available, there's a good laundromat within 2 minutes of driving. 3) Internet service options are good. I download at ~11MB/s (or ~90Mb/s). 4) The bedroom is spacious. I managed to fit a queen size bed, a dresser, shelves, and still had room to run a Virtual Reality setup (I'm a nerd). 5) My neighbors are the quiet, very polite, and friendly type. On invitation, I've even dined with some of them. They also manage a wonderful, lush, neighborhood garden alongside the units. I get to see it every time I take out the trash. Which brings me to trash disposal. I do appreciate that there's a dumpster available for trash disposal. I just take a 30 second walk to the street, admire the flowers, drop my bag in the dumpster, and walk back. It's great. I really enjoyed this unit, but it would be dishonest of me to praise the positive traits without listing the negatives. Here are a few downsides: 1) The driveway to park is narrow. If you don't know your car within a tolerance of 1 foot, it's possible you may scrape it. Anyone who's been driving in San Diego for awhile has likely adapted to narrow spaces, though. 2) Although the complex is relatively quiet, and I trust my neighbors, I don't not trust the surrounding area. Small/paper mail is securely delivered, but I've had 3 larger packages stolen. My advice is to have your packages delivered to the post office nearby. It's an extra 10 minutes, but it's the safe option - especially around Christmas time. 3) It's hardly a criticism of the unit itself, but the side street leading to the unit is poorly paved. Most people will drive on the paved side to avoid the potholes. I don't mean to sound "hardcore", but serious applicants only. I've had roughly 20 people contact me about wanting the unit over the last month, and only one has attended a unit showing. My name is Josh, and I'll be available 24/7 by text or email.
