The Atlanta BeltLine started as Georgia Tech student Ryan Gravel’s master’s thesis in 1999 and has since flourished into an iconic Atlanta landmark. The BeltLine is a paved path covering 33 miles of former railroad lines, connecting Atlanta’s in-town neighborhoods and providing ample space for public art installations and various outdoor activities.
This specific section of the BeltLine is known as the Eastside Trail, situated between ultra-hip Atlanta neighborhoods like Old Fourth Ward, Inman Park, Little Five Points, and Virginia Highland. Residents enjoy quick access to an array of shops, restaurants, bars, and luxury apartments that line the trail along with great walking, jogging, biking, and scootering opportunities.
