Nestled alongside the Willamette River, Portland’s Waterfront neighborhood stretches from the intersection of I-5 and I-405 in the south to Old Town Chinatown in the north. Property Ratings at Essex House
I lived here for 1 year now. The new management is poor. It always take a long time to address any issue you have in your apartment. It took forever for them to fix the elevators. There is only one elevator working now for more than 150 residents. Inside the building is messy and dirty. There are much better options than Essex in downtown Portland, I would suggest avoid Essex Apartment!
Essex Apt’s new maintenancr lady Michelle . I really like how hands on she is especially when she deals with all the repair issues very aggressive to resolve it on the spot .accurate and even though she’s too busy she makes to the point to follow up with us renters. Very approachable, friendly and smart what else I can say she fixed my apartment toilet issue which is a big deal for us busy people who wants to have everything in place . In short you feel that there’s always solution to most household repairs. In some Apt’s it’s hard to get hold of maintenance if your bulbs are out ,Leaking bathroom or other malfunction issues lastly she will leave your doorstep until you say it’s ok I’m happy and problem is gone.
The Essex House is a pretty great place to live. It is very clean, newly remodeled and well maintained. The management staff, Jesse and Charles in particular, are extremely helpful and attentive. Due to the great location, there are often some frustrating groups of students that lease unites together. They can be noisy and smoke outside the door and forget their security entrance cards and make living with them unnerving. The office staff does a great job with responding to any complaints though and will do whatever they legally can to make things right. Overall, I would definitely recommend living at the Essex House!
Having spent over twenty years of my life living, visiting, and exploring in and around downtown Portland, Essex House remains a perfectly located fixture in the heart of the city. True walking distance to all MAX transportation and Portland Streetcar lines, the convenience factor consistently ranks higher than the competition. Whether a relaxing walk on the waterfront, exploration of the countless bars and restaurants, or night out for live music/theater, the Essex House is a hop, skip, or short bike ride away from the amenity of your choice. With upstanding management, a caring core tenant base, and perks of any high level multifamily community, Essex House is sure to fit your unique needs!
