Perched on the north end of the Elk River and adjacent to Elk Neck State Forest, Elkton provides amazing natural beauty -- it is also located about halfway between Philadelphia and Baltimore, with just under an hour to each. In addition, it is about halfway between Washington, DC and New York City, with roughly two hours to each.
This ideal location has even more to offer with its charming and historic downtown shopping district, home to wide, brick-paved sidewalks; historic buildings filled with boutiques, restaurants, and cafes; period lighting; and colorful murals. Elkton was first settled in 1694 and played a role during the American Revolution, acting as a landing point for troops heading for Brandywine and later, Philadelphia.
It was much later when Elkton gained its claim to fame, however; when other northern states began passing strict marriage laws early in the 20th century, Maryland became a haven for those wanting to marry quickly and without restrictions.

Property Ratings at Elkton Terrace
My review was originally too long so I’ll highlight the biggest issues: -My unit had crickets REALLY bad that maintenance knew about but claimed he had no control over. I spent many nights away from home just to be able to sleep. -My AC broke mid-summer and the property manager all but called me a liar for WEEKS before deciding to see for herself. -My bathroom ceiling collapsed TWICE but when I warned that it was an impending issue, the property manager and maintenance acted like I was crazy and I, in fact, have them on camera CALLING me crazy inside my apartment. The ceiling collapsed ON my boyfriend two days later. -My tub faucet ran CONSTANTLY and maintenance refused to fix the actual issue. Instead, multiple times, he just tightened the knobs so much that I couldn’t get them undone to shower. -Maintenance would frequently enter my unit without notice, no work order, no note to say he was there, and he’d spend a lot of time in places where there was no issue. All on camera. -Items that were promised to be replaced upon move-in never were. -The property manager rarely responds to emails or calls without a fight but she’s quick to threaten you with eviction when your rent is late. That’s barely scratching the surface of the issues here. Don’t do it to yourself.
Property Manager at Elkton Terrace, Responded To This Review
Although troubling to hear, we appreciate you taking the time to provide your feedback, Carrena. At the Evergreen Apartments at Elkton Terrace, we strive to provide an excellent level of service and living experience and it sounds like we missed the mark. We apologize for not meeting your expectations and felt you had no other choice but to leave our community. If you’d like to discuss your grievances, although you no longer live here, we'd be happy to. Please contact the Corporate Office at comments@evergreenapartments.com if you wish to do so and someone from our corporate staff will follow up with you. We wish you all the best.
I came to look at Evergreen Terrace in early 2015 and was very disappointed with the professionalism of the staff in the office. I decided to continue looking but eventually came back to Evergreen Terrace due to the great location and the prices of their units. Upon my second visit, I met with Dawn, the property manager. She is a great manager and actually knows what she's doing! Anytime I have a maintenance request, it is taken care of quick and the maintenance men are always very nice and clean up after themselves. I recommend Evergreen Terrace to those who are looking for a quiet place to live in the middle of everything! My only suggestion would be more parking!
I love my apartment cause it's clean safe in somewhere I can rise my son.My apartment manager is the best she understand when I am GOING to be late for my rent.I am a single mother of a 9year old son I work one job at McDonald's I DON'T get that much money in sometimes I have to pay $40 a day just to go to work because I got to but my son in day care in it's not free.I can look in the back of my apartment in see a school where my son will be going son.I have a grill if I want to BBQ . My appointment had a bar the living room is really big I am on the first floor I love my lovely apartment.
