Montrose, also known as “The Heart of Houston,” sits in west-central Houston, on the cusp of vibrant neighborhoods like Downtown Houston, Midtown Houston, the Museum District, and Memorial Park. Montrose is filled with historic bungalows as well as modern lofts and condominiums available for rent, many of which are within walking distance of numerous restaurants, bars, coffee shops, and boutiques strewn along Westheimer Road.
Should you choose to rent in Montrose, you will have the chance to catch an indie flick at the historic River Oaks Theatre, see the extensive collection of art and artifacts assembled in the Menil Collection, visit Rothko Chapel, find sweet deals at River Oaks Shopping Center, and run the trails situated along Buffalo Bayou. You can also attend lively community events such as the Houston Greek Festival and the Houston Art Car Parade.

Property Ratings at Fairmont Museum District
My husband and I have lived in the South Building for four years and have very much enjoyed our experience. If you are looking to be part of a building with a neighborly vibe and sense of community, this is your place. I would highly recommend this atmosphere for people who will be new to Houston, like we were. Several of our neighbors have become friends and it's so easy to do weekly outings and walk to one of the nearby restaurants. (Toasted Coconut, The Pit Room and The Menil Collection are our favorite places to walk to) We are on the front side, facing Dunlavy, and love the sunlight that comes in to our apartment as well as the view of the neighborhood. It's also very easy for us to get out front to walk our dog or take him to the big fenced in dog park next door. There is a nice dog walk space on the grounds too, which is perfect for my husband to run our dog out at his lunch break. The building is impeccably clean and we always see the maintenance guys doing things to keep the building looking nice. Security is one of the main factors that has kept us here versus renting a home. I have to leave for work around 4am (doctor life) and never worry about going down to my car at that time or walking my dog in the neighborhood at night. Some of the complex's employees live here too which is neat and adds a measure of security for us. A few of the friends we have made were introduced by Jessica and Lindsay (from the office) at food truck nights. They offer package delivery which is so helpful for us because I'm always ordering Amazon! Instead of having to rush home from work to get my package from the office like our last building, my package is waiting for me inside my doorway when I get home. The concierge will also send out return boxes that I drop at their desk- I just stick on the label and tape up the box. Super convenient if you shop online as much as we do. Residents are a mix of young and older professionals and I think that is why the building is so quiet. Even the pool atmosphere is relaxed and not at all a party place. If you work in the medical center or downtown, this place is the most convenient location and well managed building hands down. The office and maintenance both have long term staff and isn't run by one of the big box companies.
I have been a resident at the Fairmont now for two years. This has been the best experience living here. The office staff and maintenance team always went above and beyond to keep me happy. I’ll wish there was a Fairmont building in D.C., I’m sadly leaving this wknd.
I lived at this property for more than a year with no major problems during my stay. Upon my move out, I was charged in excess of $700 in repairs without receiving any details on how the biggest portions of this amount were determined. I was never offered to handle the repairs the property said they have done. I was never provided with a closing statement. Money was deducted from my bank account without my consent and after my lease ended. They refused to return it back claiming that they cant issue more than one refund.I later realized that this money wasn't just a simple mistake as the management claimed.
I don't have enough good words for the staff at Fairmont. Great apartments are a dime a dozen and this one is one of them. Fairmont is a unique boutique style apartment that caters to the residents and their comfort. All of the units in the North Building have beautiful hardwood floors, gourmet appliances and high end finishes. Hallways and garages are always kept clean and smelling fresh and the common areas are designed for tranquility and relaxation. We feel very safe in the neighborhood, and we're right next door to a dog park and HEB. All of our maintenance requests are taken care of either that day or the next morning. You won't regret signing a lease here, be sure to look in advance because you might be on a wait list to get the unit and floor plan you want.
I loved living here for almost three years, and still would be if I had not bought a house with my fiancé. What a great place to live! The office personnel are so helpful and the amenities are fantastic. There's even a pool attendant on the weekends!
I felt very safe living here. You need a fob to open the garage door to the parking complex, and although it's possible for someone to follow behind you, you also need a fob to get into the elevator, stairwell, and into the building. ( having guests over can be cumbersome/annoying but it is safe!) It is very modern vinyl wood flooring, high ceilings, modern fixtures, and great lighting. The swimming pool area is awesome, gym is great, and if you have a dog you cannot beat the location. It is right next to Ervan Chew Dog Park!
This is the perfect building if you want a quick walk to great restaurants and outdoor space. The common areas are well maintained and staff incredibly helpful.
Fairmont offers a quality living experience with exceptional amenities. The staff from the front office to maintenance personal is professional and courteous. The apartment is conveniently looked in the montrose area in close proximity to the medical center, shopping district and downtown area. The finishes are first class and is an exceptional value for a two bedroom in the area. The neighbors are quietly and friendly. I have had a wonderful experience with Fairmont and highly recommend the property.
Tremendous work out facilities, pools, concierge, with upgraded apartment amenities. Granite kitchen counters, stainless appliances, tile baths, large closets, and parks nearby.
I've been living at The Fairmont for about 7 months and couldn't be any happier with the office staff. Lindsey and Molly go above and beyond every day to provide first class service to each of their tennants. From delivering packages after hours to checking on pets, they will stop at nothing to make sure that all who live here truly have a luxury experience. At the Fairmont I'm more than an apartment number, I'm always warmly greeted by my first name. This makes a huge difference in the community experience! If you're looking for a first class, private community, The Fairmont is the place for you.
