Property Ratings at Falcon Creek Luxury Lifestyle Apartments
I would like to thank the maintenance staff for retrieving items left by my Moving company during my transition out. The items recovered held sentimental value. I contacted the property manager, Ms. Debbie and informed her if the items left. They recovered the items from the apartment and I was contacted immediately. I enjoyed my stay at this apartment complex and the apartment complex was a great place to live in. I left the country and returned back to this complex. Great staff and maintenance department. Highly recommend living there.
AC units are guaranteed to break during summer time. Maintenance requests will take multiple weeks before any action is taken. Talked to other residents and they report similar issues with AC units. Main solution is to recharge the unit without looking into any real issue. Security is an issue. Multiple vehicles have been broken into throughout the whole complex.
Great location, pretty lake views, nice apartment layouts, but that's about it for pros. This has been, by far, the worst apartment living experience EVER! I travel a lot for work and have lived in plenty of places, but this one takes the cake. The office staff is rude, unprofessional and vengeful. There is zero communication between office and maintenance. Maintenance is slow, and when they do come, weeks later, the work is half-assed. Someone mentioned the radon testing and telling them they couldn't go in. They did that to me too. I even put it in writing like they asked. I am at high-risk for COVID-19 and they assured me that they wouldn't go in, but they did. Be ready to take pictures of everything, on move-in day, before you put in a maintenance request, after they "fix" it, and when you move out. Get security cameras to prove that someone entered your apartment. Put everything in writing. It's sad that you need to build a case, but you do. But even if you have "proof", they'll still keep your deposit with unnecessary charges, like refreshing the apartment for the next tenant. Remember to live there, but don't because they'll charge you when you move out for just breathing in the apartment. They get away with a lot of the charges because they know they can! It's despicable. Also, if you own a dog, be prepared to pay for vet visits and avoid poo-mines. Technically, it's not the management's fault, but no one picks up after their pets, and no one picks up after them. They could hire someone to pick up poop/trash daily and it'll be a full-time job. Wait... they do have someone that does that, but still doesn't get it all. Maybe they need two people. I don't know.
I lived in this community from December 5, 2020, through April 16th, 2021. In hindsight, choosing to call FCLA my home is one of the biggest mistakes I’ve made. I had signed a 13-month lease, but after 3 months of documented dissatisfaction and deplorable customer service, I was allowed to terminate my lease agreement with a 60-day notice. My termination fees were waived by the PM, to make up for my trouble. In summation, I was personally treated like a nuisance, rather than a resident. I regret living here, and I am still negotiating with staff about my final bill. Despite having the carpets and the entire apartment professionally cleaned, They have charged me $175.00 for a carpet clean. They have also charged me $77.50 for a crack in the frame of the microwave, which I am certain was there when I moved in (Take pictures of the appliances at move-in!). They have ignored my request to see the previous resident’s move-out inspection, as I would like to make sure this wasn’t overlooked at my move-in. Additionally, I’ve been charged $150.00 for one coat of paint, despite the fact that it would be covering basic wear and tear.
First off, these apartments are ok for the price, however, a lot of things need work. I have never had maintenance respond to a maintenance request. One I had to call the office two weeks after putting in a request to have our AC fixed. The other, I called, put in an online request as well as leaving a message on the maintenance voicemail. This one was for our microwave having a short in the keypad (which is a fire hazard) and is still not fixed over 7 months later. Also, these apartments are being marketed as a "gated community". We toured the apartments in November of 2019 when they told us that the community was gated. Since moving in January of 2020, the gates have never once worked. Come to find out from our neighbors who have lived here 3 years the gates have never worked. Therefore they are lying to prospective renters. We have asked about the gates multiple times with no response. The property management also does nothing for pest control...this is entirely up to the renter. These apartments are about 100 yards from a water source which makes pests rampant in the summer. Lastly, when we did the walk through during our move-in, multiple lights flicker for about 10 seconds when being turned on and about 6 outlets in the apartment have only one of two working plug ins. We mentioned this during the walk through and nothing has been done about it. I've just decided to live with these inconveniences rather than try to get maintenance to fix it as they are clearly overwhelmed. We would have moved out after our lease was up but just had a baby and didn't have the extra cash to move. On the positive side, the apartments have friendly tenants, noise is minimal, and the closet space is very abundant. The lawn and roadways are fairly clean and welled maintained.
Don't live here. Over 1500 dollar move out bill. I live there for almost 3 years and i thought normal wear and tear happened. I guess not. On top of the 2000 dollar early termination fee...i get that but why not use the 2k to pay for normal wear and tear. Nope. Bill went to me. Don't be an idiot like me. Smh
This complex lured us in with beautiful units and promises of nice amenities. But everything breaks down. Literally everything. The price is fixed so you’re stuck paying for broken internet, heating, air conditioning and even kitchen utilities. Something breaks atleast 3 times a week. Internet goes out every other day. Ac is no better. I once went 3 months here without internet and maintenance comes, “fixes” it and it breaks the next day.
When I moved in 2 years ago to Falcon Creek I was amazed. The apartment was beautiful and the high ceilings and crown molding were added bonuses. I have a 2 bedroom 2 bath on the first floor. Some of the amenities are awesome: the pool, fitness center, car care area, and the walking trails. Maintenance is very quick to come and fix anything that is wrong. They also keep packages for you in the office. That is about as far as the nice goes. The bad points far out weighs the good. While they offer pest control, the spiders run rampant and was told spiders couldn’t be treated for. My back patio sits useless. Can’t open the door for fear of bugs entering the apartment. Pet owners don’t clean up after their dogs and they let them run off leash. The promised new dog park has never happened. The only dog run is a gated area behind some garages and it floods. The security gates work part time or are not at all. The trash compactor is always full. Some lights in the parking lot have never been replaced since I moved in. They have so-called fiber optic internet which is either slow or not working. The only tv provider you can get is directv thru the apartments. There is no getting Verizon or Cox. The front office, from the leasing agents to the manager, have bad attitudes. They say they are there for you but they are not. For example, Several times I have complained to them about loud radios after 10pm during the week and they have done nothing. Also, they are extremely rude and will lie to you and refuse to put it in writing. And beware moving in, they have move out fees that they don’t tell you about till you sign your move out notice. I’m not going to renew my lease but am moving out. This complex was a great place two years ago but it has gone down hill fast
Nothing luxury about these apartments. Nope, nope, nope. The office staff has changed so many times in the 2 years I've lived there, its hard to keep track of who to talk to. They can do a lot better. First they seem to be military friendly and everything is cool until I actually went to see the apartment. Nothing like the model. I've lived there for 2 years, mostly for convenience after having a baby. After transferring to our new apartment, I was told I owed $200 more than my security deposit would cover. Ridiculous. I paid and settled into the new apartment. The internet constantly goes out. Maintenance took forever most of the time. You could see outside from under our front door for about 2 months before they came to fix it and the office lady actually told me to put a towel down to stop bugs from coming in. Not worth it. The gates barely ever worked and the WIFI was a complete joke. It always went out. Waiting for the new outrageous charges from recently moving out.
Apartment was a good space however would not recommend for the management of the property. Have had nothing but problems with them the entire time I lived there. Everyone is very rude and condescending. Property manager would promise things and never followed through. After hours was a joke. Had a flood in my apartment from another unit and they were in no hurry to get someone out to get it fixed. And then when I moved out wanted to charge me for all the problems from that event. They are the worst place for dealing with management.
I've lived here for several years, and can say that the place is not what it used to be. They used to be proactive and actually do work orders. Now, they will just smile and cancel your work order requests. If you push them to do repair work they'll threaten you with bogus complaints from neighbors to scare you into leaving them alone. Internet isn't available through anyone other then the complex, it's slow and goes out almost daily for hours on end. Bottom line... unless you feel like over paying for a place that you'll need to repair and maintain yourself and chew up all your wireless data, don't live here.
I've only been here for going on 3 weeks so far and I like everything about Falcon Creek except for the fact that I can hear EVERYTHING going on above us. The people above have absolutely no respect for sleeping hours. There's banging, stomping, slamming doors, screaming, yelling, running, jumping, a vacuum running at 10 or 11 at night... And mind you I have a year and a half old that sleeps right under the vent in our bedroom with us because she just started sleeping in her own bed. Not moving her into her own room until she gets used to sleeping in her own bed. I did report this to the office staff and they said they would send a text and if it doesn't stop within a week to go back and they would talk to them but now as I lay here awake listening to them and praying they don't wake my daughter up again...im assuming they got the text and are acting this way on purpose to be ignorant. This is unacceptable and disrespectful. And I've about had enough. Something needs to be done about it ASAP.
The location of this apartment complex is good - close to Hampton, Newport News, Poquoson, and York County as well as access to I64. I have read the other reviews and I have had a completely different experience. Living there for the past year was probably the worst experience I have had in quite some time. The noise from other apartments was horrible. It was like there was no insulation in the walls at all. You could hear every conversation (or anything else) going on in every apartment you shared walls with. Dogs barking all day and night - not to mention the dog waste everywhere - including the parking lot. Complaints would go unanswered- not even a courtesy email saying they received the information that was given. The smell of my particular apartment was unbearable at times - even after I washed the walls down, I had to use Lysol or Febreeze almost daily to tolerate the smell. When we complained, we were told they would come in and spray Lysol. . . The internet service was slow and often went down for no apparent reason and would sometimes be down for the entire day making it difficult to complete school work or work from home. The cable service was lacking - if you wanted to upgrade, you would have to sign a 2 year contract. I chose this particular place because of the potential for security since there was a gate with an access code. Well - that lasted about 2 months and then apparently the gates broke because they were never closed after that. . So much for security. If you are looking for 'luxury', you will NOT find it here please go elsewhere. Good luck in your apartment hunting.
The office staff and maintenance show no urgency when it comes to your issues. They do not keep you informed when their is an issue that you have reported and they are unable to fix. My A/C went out on a Tuesday and I have had to walk to the leasing office every day for the past 4 days to get a status update on when my unit will be fixed. In my opinion they do not treat tenants as though they are living in luxury apartments. Furthermore, the maintenance team is just is bad as the staff when it comes to resolving your issues and keeping you updated on your problems. At this point I am fed up with Falcon Creek and ready for my lease to be up.
The apartment complex is wonderful and my family and I use the pool all summer long.

I've been living at Falcon Creek since 2011 and just signed another 14 month contract! I love the neighborhood, especially the little trail out back; very soothing to the mind when taking a small stroll. The staff is always polite, and if I have something that needs to be fixed in my apartment the maintenance staff always attends to the matter in less than a day. I remember one time in the early spring, the AC wasn't working and the repair staff showed up in less than 15 minutes within me making the call and had the issue corrected within the hour!

Thank you for your feedback. Our maintenance department is always on the move making sure our tenants are taken care of!
I have lived at Falcon Creek for over 4 years, and have been plesed with the management, and maintenance staff. The grounds are kept up beautifully and they pressure wash the building twice per year. The staff responds to every need in an expeditious manner, and no problem is too small. My neighbors are relatively quiet, except for occasional heavy walking. It is a great community that's close to shopping, dining and entertainment. I have enjoyed living here and will do so until I decide to acquire and home.

When looking for a place to live at Falcon Creek, you are greeted warmly and with great kindness. As a place to live the place is pretty good. Staff is attentive and friendly. Whole place is overall quite and well kept. Unfortunately I had to move out, family became to big. They only have up to a two bedroom. I'm sure to keep larger families from making the complex to loud. Then came the time to move out, They will hit you with every possible charge they can think of. That friendliness and guest service that you have become to know, has left. I was charged for basic cleaning (even though the apartment was very clean), oven cleaning (which should be included in the basic cleaning) I was no chef so I hardly used the oven. Carpet cleaning and drip pans for the stove ($35 for a $5 dollar set at Home Depot). Laminate replacement charge of $355(that was my fault and easily excepted that) All that I was willing to let go. They want to charge for painting the apartment $225, that I had a problem with. The paint was good when I moved in and good when I moved out. Nothing was hung on the walls and no marks were on the wall when I left. There was no fading in the year I was there. They refused to show any evidence that paint was needed. A 3rd party estimate is not proof that paint was needed. Of course any 3rd party will say that paint was needed. They want the money. There is no budging with them and will be contested till the end. Love you when you want to come in, will screw you when you leave. Because of the two face lie that they only are nice to get you to sign the dotted line and then become money hungry after you leave, they get one star.

Being a military member, I have lived in my fair share of apartments. I would have to say that this is my favorite apartment complex so far! This summer when my AC went out, they didn't do the standard "ok I'll put a work order in for you". No! They had someone at my apartment within 30 minutes to take a look at it! And when the maintenance man couldn't address the problem right then and there he brought up a portable AC unit for me! Talk about service! As an added bonus, they are super close to Langley AFB! I dont think I have ever lived this close to base and had such great accommodations! Falcon Creek Luxury Apartments are very nice and spacious! My balcony is huge! (I have a one bedroom) It is twice the size of a standard balcony! The internet can be a little slow at times, but I recently moved from Texas where the internet was really really bad! So I personally think it is great! I love how they have the utility package! It is super convenient to only have to pay one bill a month and be done! The gym is one of the best I have seen. Some of the equipment needs repair, but I am still able to get a full body workout in. They even have a bathroom off of the gym with a shower! I was super impressed when I saw this. The pool, lake and walk ways are all beautiful. There are even gas grills off of the pool that you can use for a cookout. The location is pretty good with shopping centers within 10 minutes in 2 directions. There are a couple of gas stations and fast food places just a few blocks away to include a mini strip mall. The community itself is pretty quite, and everyone I have met here is super nice! Overall, I honestly love living here!! The only one down side here is, they only have one garbage compactor and depending on where you live it can be a hike to take out the trash. But the way I look at it, it gets me up and moving around so I am definitely ok with it.

It is a gated community. Staff are really friendly, When things need to be done, They are good at trying to fix them. I love how everything is included.

Thanks for the feedback! Don't forget our resident event on November 20th!
I lived at Falcon Creek for about one year. Beautiful area, central location. The management was quick to address any issues I had, and was willing to work with me if I ever had a problem. Highly recommend this complex.

I moved into these apartments about two months ago and so far the experience has been great. It is a really quite community with tons of amenities!! Also The maintenance staff answers to any issue very quickly and proficiently. I would recommend these Luxury apartments to everyone
If I could give these apartments 10 stars I would! I absolutely love my apartment and all of the ammenitiies that come with it! Peaceful and beautifully well maintained grounds and ammenities galore! Pet friendly with a fenced dog run, walking trails, beautiful pool, outdoor grill area, outdoor billards, 24 hour well equipped gym, business center, fantastic club house and yes, even a car care station complete with vaccums and car wash hoses! And the staff.....wow! Absolutely wonderful to work with! Friendly and responsive to your every request. The maintence staff is spot on! They have even gone over and above for me when I had a very simple problem. I can't say enough good things about the staff here! Best of all, it's extremely affordable! Falcon Creek should be your first and last stop when you are looking for an apartment!
Awesome residence. Hugh Closets and an all inclusive package. So I pay one bill a month! Well maintained and great customer service.

Thank you...our conventional utility package is a great way to save!
The apartment itself is nice, very beautiful pool and gym but they do not clean the pool as much as they should and the exercise equipment is broken more than working. The internet you can get through the facility is awful and I would not recommend it if you need reliable service. Overall not a bad complex but could be much better with more maintenance.

Thank you for the feedback. Our office staff is here to address your concerns as well as our maintenance staff.
We are military, so we have lived a lot of places but Falcon Creek is at the top of the list! Great location, right between Langley and Town Center, close to Hampton, Yorktown, and Newport News. The staff is so friendly and helpful. The apartments are beautiful and spacious and the utility package is a huge money saver! Definitely the perfect place for us!!
-Beautiful place -Friendly staff, not very helpful though(always new faces) -Gates are open/broken majority of the time -Very limited gym -slow internet(has to go through the complex)< Gamers beware.
I liked it there, but don't be late on your rent! There is a grace period up until the 5th like most complexes, but after the 5th you'll be hit with a $137 late fee! After the 12th you will be hit with a court summons and roughly $300 in fees so don't you dare have a rough month and think you're going to be 30 days late here or it's good bye!!! So cruel! Other than that I liked it there.
I work in a high stress industry and need a relaxing environment to really unwind. The walking trail (that my dog lives for) and fitness center at Falcon Creek has become my sanctuary. It saves me money on a gym membership and better yet saves me time driving to and from the gym. I am happy to live in a place that is convenient and designed with everything I need.
I moved to Falcon Creek the beginning of June and am very pleased with my decision so far. The apartments are beautiful, and their extra amenities are nice. Since I've been here, they have had a pool party with food and music, and a vendor blender. I really feel like I am part of a community, and have even made a couple new friends! I would recommend this apartment to anyone looking for a beautiful, relaxing community to call home.
