Stroll down Main Street in Downtown Tigard and you'll discover a picturesque shopping district nestled among the trees, defined by brick-paved walkways and period lighting. This is the heart of the city, a Norman Rockwell painting come to vivid life, complete with art walks, corner bistros, art galleries, and sidewalk cafes. Downtown Tigard is home to the only glass-blowing art studio in the region, Live Laugh Love Art, which also offers classes. Very walkable and bicycle-friendly, Downtown Tigard is the ideal setting to get out and enjoy a sunny day.
Tigard is named for the city's founder, Wilson Tigard, who arrived here in 1852. In 1880, he built a home for his son, John Tigard. This charming house museum, listed on the National Register of Historic Places, is located just south of Downtown Tigard at the corner of Canterbury Lane and SW 103rd Avenue.

Property Ratings at Fanno Creek Village
We have been very happy living at Fanno Creek Village for the last three years. The apartments are spacious and very quiet. You actually have a real laundry room with additional storage and a separate storage locker that is located inside of the building which gives you a larger usable balcony or patio space. We are right along the Fanno Creek Trail which gives us easy access to take a walk, run or bike ride. When we have needed maintenance it has always been done in a very timely manner. The property’s location is great. You are really close to I-5/217 and within easy driving distance of Washington Square as well as restaurants and grocery stores.
I love living here. My apartment is so comfortable and roomy. The 2-bedroom layout is great especially if you have company. The living room separates the bedrooms. Lots of privacy and room. The management does a great job of taking care of the property. The grounds are always very well taken care of. Anytime there is repair of fix needed, they are right on it. No lag time, even with appliances that need to be fixed or replaced. Fanno Creek Village is a very special place.
We lived in a 3-bedroom apartment at Fanno Creek Village from the summer of 2017 to the spring of 2019. Unlike any other apartments we lived before, we really enjoyed living there because interaction with the management team and the residents was fun. We moved out because we bought a house. We still visit there from time to time and chat with the staff. If we or our friends need to rent in Tigard in the future, we would think of Fanno Creek Village first. When we found out that we were moving to Oregon, we looked around and felt that the "luxury" apartments in the area were over-priced for their sizes. We had to do all the transactions remotely prior to move-in, but the manager was very thorough and kept us informed, which greatly reduced our stress level. She even took pictures of the unit for us (there were no online pics back then). On the move-in day, she notified the residents not to park on the side of the street near our unit so that our movers could park. Move-out process was simple and clear. As for the property, as the other reviewers pointed out, this apartment complex is clearly older than the "luxury" ones, but they are updated as tenants turn over, so even in the same building, some may look more outdated than others. If you want an updated unit, then just tell the manager so and wait. It is close to many things. Trail, library, Tigard downtown, stores, restaurants, highways, parks, public transportation, etc. Storage! In addition to the closet spaces & patio/balcony storage, there are some lockable storage spaces under the buildings near the trail. Just ask the management. Don't be shy and jump into the hot tub. It was under-used when we were there. Assigned parking spots. You can rent a garage with additional cost if you want to park in a garage or need more storage space. Good insulation. Never heard any noise from the next door (but heard a big dog and laundry noise from above). Watch out for the flyers put up in the mailbox areas later in the week. If you are quick, you may get farm-fresh produce or eggs at incredible prices. School bus stops in front of the entrance. Last but not least, the community is friendly -- Yes, residents are on the mature side and not there to party, but if you have common sense and good manners, you will fit right in. Should I say more?
I am in my 3rd year at this complex. The apartments themselves are very well kept and spacious. Maintenance is very quick to fix any issue (which there hardly are). And being next to the Fanno Creek Trail is fabulous. The complex is extremely quiet and I have always felt safe here. If you want a place for house parties or loud noise, this isn’t the place for you. It’s quiet and the neighbors insist it stay that way. Highly recommend if you want a quiet, comfortable place to live.
Starting with the grounds that are immaculate and beautiful, Fanno creek apartments have the largest and most pleasant apartments. The prices are lower compared to a lot of other overcrowded complexes. We have lived here for 3 years now and the neighbors are nice and friendly and we feel safe. It’s quiet and anytime we had to talk to the office, everyone was super pleasant and helpful. We love to call this place home!
As a long time home owner, I was hesitant to move back into an apartment. However, this complex is very different than your ordinary apartment experience. I have a large three bedroom with massive walk-ins, central heat and a gas stove. The property features lovely, lush landscaping, a community garden, and we back up to the Fanno Creek walking trail. My daughters and I love the 5 minute stroll to the Tigard Library. In addition, the units are well insulated side to side, which dramatically reduces "apartment noise". We're less insulated from the unit above, but still significantly quieter than traditional apartments. However, what really sets the complex apart is the management. Even a beautiful complex can be miserable with poor management. The manager and maintenance team at Fanno Creek have been here over 15 years and are the heart of the complex. The manager really knows the tenants and works to make this so much more than a rental. When I need something repaired, it is addressed in record time and with quality work. I feel completely comfortable having maintenance in my apartment when I am not home and trust the staff implicitly. Fanno Creek is a lovely and unique complex, but it's the management that makes it a home!
My husband and I have lived at Fanno Creek Village Apartments since the summer of 2014. We lived in a two bedroom for three years and are currently in a one bedroom apartment both with amazing creek views (apartment lay out for 1 and 2 bedrooms is spacious and functional). The apartments offer extra storage space at no additional cost and a community garden plot (garden tools available for use at no charge) (both based on availability). The garages are large and deep with plenty of storage for a car, motorcycle and storage area with shelves and covered carport (for under 100.00 a month). Fanno Creek Village is a clean, quiet, safe location and is walking distance from the Tigard library, farmers market, post office and restaurants via Fanno Creek Trail. Management has always been professional and attentive to our needs - we are very happy here and would recommend to anyone who is looking for a place to call home. T & M
My husband and I moved into a 1 bedroom about a month ago, after living in a much larger supposedly "luxury" complex, and we instantly felt at home. As we were moving in, all the neighbors were very nice, and introduced themselves. We came to realize that it seems like the average age of the residents, at least in the 1 bedrooms, is 55 . A lot of them have lived here for many years, which generally says good things about a complex. It is VERY quiet here, which we love, but if you are under 30 and/or have lots of guests over socially, this may not be a good fit for you. We overlook the parking lot and it is STILL very quiet - people just aren't making much noise here and it is summer currently, so that's generally the noisiest time of year. We have two assigned parking spaces, one covered and one uncovered. There are also garages available for a reasonable additional monthly fee, and we waited on a list for one to become available. (If you choose to rent a garage, you lose your other assigned covered parking space.) You can opt for a small storage closet in the basement of the building for free. There is a little community garden area where you can opt for a plot, also free. The flooring does not have that echo-ey sound that poorly made floors do. They feel very solid and (we think/hope) quiet for the person who lives below us. Our unit has a gas faux fireplace and a huge laundry room. Yes, laundry ROOM, not "laundry closet made for the machines". You could create an entire pantry/storage space in the space left in the laundry room. You can hardly hear your machines running when you close the door, which is made of a much more substantial material than the other internal doors, which are typical hollow-core doors. The walls seem to be pretty well insulated...at least we have not heard a peep from any neighbor who borders us. The windows are average, and you can hear quite a bit of noise bleed-through when something is going on outside (like the landscapers). There is a small linen closet, a small coat closet, and a medium-sized sliding door closet in the bedroom. There is a ceiling fan over the dining nook, no A/C. There is a covered balcony off the living room that is large enough for a small patio set. A portion of the Fanno Creek Trail runs directly behind our building, and connects next door to the Tigard branch of the public library.
After 4 month of seaching for the perfect apt, we ended up with the very first unit we look at and we are Happy Happy in our new beautiful space. The waite list was 8 page long our lease came up and so did our name we where now at the top the list and moved in. Rox G, Portland Or
