Oswego is a bustling village just south of Aurora on the banks of the Fox River. Perched on the southwestern edge of the Greater Chicago region, residents of Oswego enjoy a healthy balance of easy access to the big city and the low-key lifestyle of the suburbs. With its peaceful neighborhoods, superb schools, and plenty of single-family homes in the local rental market, Oswego is a popular choice among many renters.
The village’s landscape is split between a thriving retail and residential scene. A cluster of shopping centers are placed along Walter Payton Memorial Highway while residential avenues fill the remaining area. The adjacent cities of Aurora and Naperville offer more options for shopping, dining, and entertainment.

Property Ratings at Farmington Lakes Apartments
I toured this property because it was in my price range(I thought). The property itself is awesome but they treat their rent like it’s as fluid as airfare. When I sat down with the broker the price suddenly changed because the apartment at that price point was “rented” but they still had similar units available. I continued with the tour and went home and did more research. I found several listings still at the price point I could afford days (and weeks) later. When I called the office and asked them if they could honor the price they were advertising they said they “ did not work with those vendors” and couldn’t honor those price points. Shortly after I called ( and emailed) those listings were mysteriously removed or updated.
I recently moved out for personal reasons. I lived in these apartments for 1 year and found the experience great. 4-stars because there's always for improvement. If you're looking for an apartment in this area, this is where you'd want to go. Visit the place so you get the feel of it, but I thought the community, neighbors, front office staff, and maintenance were terrific. Front office communicated well, and maintenance staff were superb. They were both friendly, and had no issues with neighbors and the overall community that lived here (and around, since it was within a safe, pond-side residential area). Pool and fitness center were well-maintained. There was an adjacent jogging/running/biking trail I loved and used almost daily. Overall, it was a great experience.
The community is wonderful! Oswego in general is great place to live. You are right by all of the strip malls on route 34, and I can't tell you how convenient it is to be that close to shopping and restaurants. To be fair, I only know about my building, but living here was super quiet! Even walking around the complex or by the courtyard at night, everyone is extremely respectful and there was no one who was ever rude or obnoxious. We lived on the second floor, so we didn't have to worry about neighbors above us either. The clubhouse is so clean and modern, and has a gym, business center, grills, gorgeous pool; it feels really nice being able to call this home. We were lucky enough to get one of the front buildings, so we loved the fact that we were so close to the club house and never had a problem with parking. We did have a couples maintenance issues, but they were handed promptly. Our washer and dryer ended up going out over a holiday, and they order a new one and had it installed 2 days later! And of course the AMAZING staff, Joe was incredible and was always helpful and there for us when we needed to talk to him or ask a question. They have always been extremely accommodating and make me feel important, and not just like some tenant, which I really appreciate. On to the apartment- I LOVE THE DOGWOOD II! My boyfriend and I look at 22 other apartment complexes and not one of them compared to the dogwood. We also got the apartment for such a great deal, which really made the choice easy. You have a private entrance and closet down stairs, living room, dining room, open concept large kitchen with a pantry, computer niche, huge patio, enormous bathroom with double sinks, big bedroom with massive drive in closet and also other storage closet, the 9 foot ceilings are beautiful, and all the updates fixtures really make a difference. No other one bedroom apartment in the aurora, Naperville, or Oswego really compares to the dogwood and all of its features. Overall, I couldn't recommend the community enough! They email resident news letters every month, and always have something going on at the clubhouse, like free flower give away for spring, poker nights, pancake breakfasts, craft beer tastings, margaritas by the pool, and so much more! I have attached pictures of our apartment to showcase how nice Farmington Lakes is. There really is no competition, we love it here!
Was extremely satisfied with my apartment after looking around for weeks at other complexes. From the moment I entered my new apartment, I knew I was finally home!! I felt like I won the lottery!! It was spacious and airy with many large windows to let the light in. The open kitchen with the half wall was the selling point. So many apartments have closed in kitchens which offset you from your quests and what everyone else is doing. I love it here!!

I like where i live. I am 25 and married with no kids. I lived in dow town chicago when i was 19-23. Now that im a bit older i relaized how much sleep and excersise is important to me. Farmington lakes apartments offer a great price with wonderful amentites. The one i really like is garbage pick up amd i only pay $25 a month. I also live around a wonderful walk/run/bike trail that is about 5 miles ling and around the whole complex.any time i have had a problem with something breaking i have the lovely staff make sure someone stops by and fixes it. I dont wait for days and they leave me a notes advising me they fixed the issue. I have a dog and i love taking her on walks and along the way there are plenty of dog stations so if i dont have doggie bags there is a dog station close to me. But above all i love looking outside my window in the morning. I have a beautiful view of the pond and the sunset. Wonder place to live with staff that care about you and your pets at a reasonable price.
I have lived at Farmington Lakes for over 2 years and must say it is by far the best "bang for your buck" in the Aurora area. Units are spacious, modern and clean. The exterior of the units are harming and fresh and make each building look more like a home than an apartment. Within walking distance is a large pond with all sorts of beautiful birds and flowers that makes for a wonderful walk or jog. Restaurants and shopping are all withing a 2 minute drive. Most importantly, the staff if friendly and helpful. I have never been greeted with anything but a smile and a warm hello. Farmington Lakes is great for singles, couples and families whether it's a temporary stay or a place to call home.
