Located eight miles west of Mile Square, Indianapolis’ bustling city center, is the mostly residential neighborhood of Key Meadows. Renters will find that most of Key Meadow’s rental options are conveniently situated between two main roads, Interstate 74 and Highway 136. Many of these apartments have great views of large ponds and the Eagle River that flows through the area.
While Key Meadows is just steps away from Downtown Indianapolis’ great attractions, restaurants, boutiques, and shopping centers, the neighborhood itself has great amenities such as Ben Davis Park which provides residents with greenspace and ball fields. Right outside of Key Meadows are several retail stores, grocers, and restaurants.

Property Ratings at Fishermans Village
I have no problem with this place. I love it thank you
Lived here in 2015 , just moved back and so far my experience with staff is great ???? they try to accommodate my every need. And it seems like there always having something for the residents every week.
I have been here since July and only 2 washing machines in the building work! The hallways are nasty!!! They charge you for services that they don’t provide voluntarily (extermination)!! Maintenance say they fix things they don’t really fix!!! I can’t wait for my lease to be over!!!
I went to move in today and I was just handed the keys to my apartment. Nobody went and did a walk-through with me prior to giving me my keys. Just walking into the building itself left me feeling unsafe and dirty because the carpets were stained terribly, there were holes in the walls, and the humidity in the building was the worst I’ve ever experienced. Upon walking into the apartment, I immediately started crying. They tried to get me to move into an apartment that had mold and mildew on the walls, the paint was chipping off the walls due to the moisture in the air, there were huge stains and rips in the carpet, the cabinets in the bathroom were barely hanging on, and the walls had not been repainted so you could see every scuff mark and stain that was left by the previous tenants. upon telling them about my concerns with the place they seemed like they would work with me to get everything fixed but I quickly realize that they didn’t really care what I had to say. I would point out things and they would simply brush it off like it was unimportant. I quickly decided to cancel my lease and I demanded my money back only to find out that I have to wait a month and a half to have my money re-deposited into my account… With the condition of the apartment, I didn’t even feel safe having my dogs in there, let alone have family over. I wanted an apartment to be a home where I can gather with friends and family and this is definitely not the place to do that!!
I have lived here for 10 horrible months(I am almost done with lease thank god). Just please don’t. I can’t speak for every building but building 7 is nasty. Carpet is stained in hallways. Upstairs laundry room walls are covered in a film of mold/dust. There has been 2 breaks in at the front door where the window was smashed and blood was everywhere.(wish I could post pics) A person was shot in the back parking lot around April in a drive by shooting. (This is in the 10 months I’ve been here) The patio door is so old that when it rains or snows it will come into my apartment through the bottom. Windows barely close and are dirty and old. No insulation exists in this building it will be 65 in the winter and 78 in the summer with heat/air on. When I say you can hear everything the neighbors do, I mean it. Water running, tv playing, talking and walking. Leasing office has a new chick working there every week but I can’t blame the high turnover. I could not work at a place knowing they overcharge people for absolute crap.
The management will bill you for any little thing whether your a couple cents short or fine you for having things on your balcony.
I lived here for over 4 years. Things were stolen off the patio, the washing machines only filled up halfway with water(so everyone had to wash small loads), stained and old carpeting, very old appliances, bedroom window wouldn't open, drywall fell off ceiling in closet from water leak, high water and sewer fees, pot smell in hallways, strong odor in garage. They have a BBB rating of "F". The management company also has many complaints against them and a rating of "F". The carpeting was old when I moved in and I lived there over 4 years. Upon move-out, I left the apartment clean and in good condition. I was charged $747.00 for new carpeting and cleaning fees. Apparently, the management company is notorious for adding highly inflated costs for anything and everything they want upon move-out.
I have been living here for almost 2 years & I regret it so much. Since I’ve been here, I’ve see. At least 15 leasing staff come and go and about 20 maintenance men come and go. The hallways are littered with trash, they never want to fix anything your apartment. They charge you a $75 fee if you miss ONE PAYMENT ON YOUR LIGHT BILL OR GAS BILL. I really hope you do not choose this place. The staff in the office is extremely rude as well
I just recently moved I really love it. My first apartment I was welcomed and everything.
This is going on my second year here. I lived in the studio first with a great lake view. My neighbors was fantastic. I had no major problems. Decided to move to 1 bedroom. Moved to building near office figured it would be the better building close to office. In a way I regret the move. The inside of the buildings look horrible. Carpet is nasty holes in hallways. Mailboxes are horrible. I moved in my apartment with mismatch applications. They say there are upgrading I recieved a new black stove which was nice but fridge was beige..smh..I had some minor repair issues But the maintenance guy was very nice and fixed my issues quickly. Friendly and professional. This complex has alot of potential and the area is great. If they would just invest some money for upgrades this could really be a beautiful place to live. I have not experienced any bugs or mice like I read in the other reviews. UPGRADE UPGRADE.
Highly over priced rent for what you get. You pay ALL utilities & they are highly priced. There is a 34.95 fee to pay rent online. Premises riddled with dog poop. Faulty bldg. smoke alarms. Bldgs inside are disgusting from carpet to the walls & hardly ever cleaned. Broken mailboxes. Broken doors. Broken lights. Folks try to pry into storage units. Very high staff & tenant turnover. Appliances, furnace, A/C & windows are from the stone ages. Office staff are rude & unprofessional. Mainetence is no good. Fitness room is nasty & equipment is broken & unsafe. They love to nit pick over small things & love to put threatening letters on your door. Your notified last minute in regards to anything. Dumpsters are nasty all around them. Roaches/gnat problem. Property not taken care of esp the streets. Rent goes up a ridiculous amt every lease renewal. Just a nasty, neglected, high priced place to live with a nasty attitude staff. Wouldnt recommend this place to my enemy!!
Great location right in between everything! Minutes from the raceway! Views are amazing and the staff is always super nice and pleasant to be around!
MY daughter and I took a tour to look at the apartments and there was a DEAD MOUSE laying in the kitchen on the floor, the leasing agent was sooo embarrassed. She said sorry this should have never happened. My daughter and her roommate moved a in and have had nothing but problems with the mice. The office keeps telling them they are changing exterminators or that they came out, yet every other day there is a mouse in the unit or in a trap. My daughter and her roommate paid their entire lease up front and now are being told they can move but they will be keeping their money!!! Not fair at all!!! The mice have bee an ongoing issue as well as the main door to the building being broken, which keeps it from locking properly. Tenants smoking weed in the hall, trash outside of the building , the list goes on!!! DO NOT MOVE HERE UNLESS YOU ARE OK WITH LIVING WITH MICE!!!
Outer walls are not insulated, in first floor units the carpet is even cold, it’s so bad that you can hear the person upstairs talking on the phone! Forget about sleep since it’s so awfully insulated and freezing during the winter plus people walking around above. The patio door doesn’t stay closed unless it’s locked. Constant drug activity with cars all night in a small parking lot which doesn’t go through/connect anywhere. Management, staff and maintenance personnel are always changing nor do they help. The view is the only decent thing to earn 1 star.
Been there for over a year. Very bad experience, the office staff are nice when you are moving in, after that they are rude, when you approach them they act like they are giving you a favor for you to be helped. The A/Cs are century old they take 4 straight hours running to reach your desired temperature. When you call for maintenance they tell you to keep running it, they don't care that its going to raise your electric bill. Had a problem with my stove the week I moved in, maintenance said they needed to older a part, however they never returned to fix it. When you turn on a heater, there is a dusty smell from the air ducts meaning that they are never cleaned. The roads are in bad shape, instead of hiring professionals to maintain them, they use maintenance guys to patch the potholes. In short they are nice apartments under bad management.
Beautiful views and close to interstate and downtown.
Fishermans Village is a great place to call home. The staff here is extremely helpful and welcoming when it comes to moving in. Any time that I had a maintenance issue and called in someone, they would be there within a couple of hours. The staff here really makes you feel like part of a family and not simply a place to live. I feel very safe and comfortable here.
The view here is amazing! The surroundings are kept very clean! Kinda pricey for the size, and customer service isn't all that great, in the office.
I have lived here nicely tucked away from the hustle and bustle of Indianapolis on the west side for ten years. Nestled shortly next to I-465 and on the cusp of Speedway Indiana this apartment complex is pet friendly, quiet and an awesome place to live. Great for anyone retiring or single or small family.
this is the perfect apartment for my husband and I we have a perfect view of the lake and it s very secluded ,no problems here we love it.
This is the most relaxing and perfect building. Wake up to the beautiful lake waters while drinking the perfect cup of coffee. Well maintained, friendly staff. It I so different from any other apartment I feel like I am living in a mini vacation spot. Very reasonable rent, exercise area, laundry room safe and secure parking. Rhonda R. Glasper
HAVE LIVED HERE ALMOST TWO YEARS NOW,NO POBLEMS,TUCKED AWAY FROM NOISE AND OTHER TRAFFIC.BEAUTIFUL LAKE VIEW,WITH FISHING AND WILDLIFE.
I love my apartment I have a few issues but nothing to bad
What a place that is easy access to the city, but need a little peace and a place to stretch your legs than this is for you. Fishermans Village is close to 465, easy access to all the shopping and services you could possibly need. A quick turn and a drive along the lake takes you back to the apartments, trees, a huge lake, walking... Then there are the apartments. The thing that I notice most is the Quiet, hardly even know they you have someone on the other side of the wall. I have lived places where you could hear everything coming through but not here. Great location, great amenities and most of all great caring staff to assist any needs or concerns. Thanks Fishermans Village.
I have lived here for ten years nestled and hidden from view Fisherman's Village is a interesting place to live. Quit and serene it is surrounded by beautiful scenery and water from the Eagle Creek Reservoir. It is a hidden gem. This apartment is awesome for you if you want peace and quiet and don't mind being off the main street. 5 minutes away from Kroger's in Speedway In and minutes away from I-465.
I cannot say that I am overly impressed with my apartment. I have had a water leak in my apartment for some time now and they have not done anything about it yet. I do enjoy the lake view from outside my back door but as I said I am not overly impressed with them.
I have enjoyed my time at Fisherman's Village and have just re-upped on my lease. I feel that the rent is very affordable, and I really enjoy my apartment. I have found the office staff to always be friendly and helpful. At least for me, my neighbors (building 7265) have all been great. It is not a loud building. It does seem though that maintenance is slow. I don't blame the office but sometimes it takes several phone calls to get things done promptly. You'll be waiting a week if you don't. Also, for a place that is very concerned with security it seems like the doors are always jamming so anyone could walk in. Maintenance should be on that all the time. All in all though, I have enjoyed my time and will continue to until I get a house.
This apartment is conveniently located to work and the freeway.
So far my experience in this building has been great everyone is extremely friendly and management will go out of their way to make sure you are satisfied and taken care of. I personally love the pool and spacious clubhouse, and not mention the location, 10 minutes from downtown Indy!
I have lived at Fisherman's Village for about 3 years now. It has a great location..just 20 mins from downtown. Apartments are roomy and they buildings are clean. The staff have all been wonderful while I have been there. All services have been quick and effecient.
Fisherman's Village is an exceptional apartment complex. The staff in the office are friendly and quick to respond. They check in with you often to see if there are any issues or maintenance requests. When I moved in, they made sure I had new carpets, and everything was very clean. It is a really quiet community - I hardly ever see my neighbors. The area has a very low crime rate and most people wouldn't even know it is back here unless they're looking for it. Most of the apartments have a beautiful view of the lake, as does the 24 hour fitness room in the clubhouse, and the well maintained pool area. If you're looking for decent square footage for a reasonable price, this is the place to go. Honestly, the only downside is that no utilities are included in the rent, but that is not a deal breaker by any means.
My Fiancee and I have lived here in Fishermen's Village since 3/11/2015 and the staff is very polite and have worked with us since we moved in. They have always been on top of things when something went wrong.
I don't think I've ever been in a residence that was as professional, courteous, and wonderful as Fishermans Village. I have never had any problems with the community either. I love this place and would stay forever if I could lol. Joslyn
I have lived in apartments for 20 years & have never lived in one such as this. Affordable, nice, clean, quiet, spacious, great lake, dog park, pool, the office & maintenance staff are Exceptional, they check in on you for any issues before you have the chance to contact them. Close to interstate, dining, and shopping. Grounds Very well maintained. Just an overall awesome place to call home!!!
So far I am impressed with my apartment. The neighborhood is very quiet for the most part and the staff have all been very helpful and friendly. My maintenance requests have been handled very quickly. My only complaint so far would be that the volleyball court is dirty and covered in goose feces. A nice place to live overall though.
I just moved in here and have everything has been pleasent. Staff is very helpful on all matters. I had a minor problem and maintenance was timely, nice, and helpful. Price is very reasonable and the community seems nice. Definitely would recommend.
I love this place. Its quiet and I love my lake view. The maintaince is very quick to get things fixed for you and the staff is usually very friendly!
This is the perfect apartment if you want a nice apartment for a small family. The lake views are beautiful, and the neighborhood is kept clean. The only drawback is that it can take some time to get maintenance in the apartment. However, we have not had too many things break so this has not been a huge issue. Would definitely recommend.
