Property Ratings at Flatbush Gardens
I’ve been living here for over 10 yrs on the top floor ….whole apartment is cover in mold because they refuse to fix the roof so everytime it rains whole apt gets flooded and when you do finally reach them all they do is plaster over it …for years I’ve watch them do this to the point I just refuse to let them come in ….its beyond frustrating and traumatizing! Also how they can try and charge double the price when it’s time to renew but they have u living in the most terrible conditions.. Flatbush Gardens is a lie! It’s still vandeveer projects! With a name plastered across… it’s disgusting how management treats you they are literally no help whatsoever …If I can I would scream off the rooftops to NEVER MOVE TO FLATBUSH GARDENS!! IT WILL LITERALLY BE THE BIGGEST REGRET OF YOUR LIFE!
The worst apartment complex they don’t fix nothing management treat you as if your rental unit is given to you for free.
Lived here for 5 years and my rent was raised $275 more when lease was renewed. When you need something fixed, you have to wait forever, keep calling and they come when either you’re at work or you have to take a day off. Had mold in my entire bathroom 4 different times because they kept patching it up instead of getting to the root of the problem which is the roof leaking into my bathroom. I can’t have company because of all the glue traps all over my apartment. I catch around 10 mice or more a month. Sometimes 2 and 3 at a time or each day of the week. My entire floor is infested. When those idiots do come to plug up holes, they do a half behind job and the exterminator is no better. He sucks. Like more roaches come when he leaves and he only gives 2 cheap glue traps. I spend a lot of money on glue traps. And you have to pay almost $400/year per air conditioner. Now you have people moving in these apartments from shelters and programs that the city is paying their rent and they are getting the brand new renovated apartments ABSOLUTELY FREE. Us hard working people that pay our rent get the short end of the stick with the crappy mouse and roach infested apartments. Flatbush Gardens are unfair and greedy. They are all about money and not doing the right thing. It’s like the projects again.
The first year I lived here I had no issues. They were even willing to negotiate on my lease after that initial time period and there's parking (in brooklyn no less). But now that I have issues nobody does anything. I have called maintenance 5x's about the leak in my kitchen and still no resolution. I've emptied two large pots filled with water twice and now the cabinets are warped. Rent at your own risk.
Flatbush Gardens appearance is good now but sadly, the custore service is still awful. If you sign a lease with them, they charge for one-year lease is when they are not supposed to. They threaten people to pay the AC bill or they will not renew their leases(illegal). They do not give you your rights when they send your renewal lease around , it's against the law. The new property director is a phony. He lies to stop from doing things he does not want to do.They do not protect tenant''s rights. They find reasons to make the tenant wrong so they can find a reason to keep disruptive tenants. They lie.I thought these people were holy but they are backstabbing, and they don't care who they do it to. Hey they treat their workers like dirt and do things behind my back like hire people right from under their feet to take over their positions, tenants are on the same list. Do not trust the soft demeanor it's all an act. Many of the maintenance workers, and porters are nice. Just know what you're getting yourself into. Talk to the tenants. There are better places Good luck
This place is full of thugs, drugs, buildings full of bedbugs and roaches. The ceiling collapsed twice and my apartment was full of water when I came from vacation. It took the people at management 2 weeks to finally come out to my apartment. I lived there for 6 years and I am at peace now that I have moved out. The complex SUCKS! However, the neighborhood is great and is close to many buses and trains lines, shopping, and dining.
I know I'm suppose to say something nice but I can't, can't say that when the property owners wouldn't fix anything, when people smoke in the building and to top everything off on 10-05-15 I came home from work to find my apartment completely flooded and the whole living room ceiling collapse. So in conclusion I'm living a nightmare and everything has to be replace so that's my story...Thank you Mrs.Figsro-Pitt
I drive by here everyday on my way to therapy and this is a great complex as well as a beautiful neighborhood. I am currently seeking a 2 bedroom in Flatbush Gardens at the moment and i pray to god that I can obtain one. The neighborhood is nice, quiet and friendly. I walked through there at night and the environment was very peaceful. I look forward to finishing my review for Flatbush Gardens.
This is a great building if you want access to the subway, bus, supermarket, target etc. The buildings are cleaned regularly and the staff are friendly. There is a park if you have children and parking garage for your vehicles. The apartments are comfortable and homey.
Casa Comoda (CC) is a charming and spacious one bedroom, one bathroom apartment. It's renovated, semi open floor plan, has 3 built in closets, and large windows in all room. The bedroom is a great size (my queen fits perfectly and still has room for 2 dressers). The dining and living space is great for entertaining friends, family and/or your pets. It's in a great location. Five blocks from Brooklyn College, Target, BBQs, and several other stores like Key Food. Also, Kings County and Downstate Hospitals 5 min away. My unit is one block from the B44, and two blocks from the 2 and 5 trains. And there's a parking garage! You can be anywhere in practically 1 hr. The neighborhood is pretty quiet, and up and coming. There are about 28 families in each building. ..sounds big but I know everyone by name. Gives a sense of safety and unity. The only drawback would be the waiting list for maintenance, but that just means don't wait until the last minute to fix things. There is a security office open 24/7 and emergency maintenance workers on duty. Most importantly, rent is affordable.
good apartment, good price, like it..close chops and transportation. ..
