This is a lovely apartment building, the short time I have lived here has been quite nice. The neighbors are friendly, it's a nice location since I can walk around the Seaport area or walk 9 minutes to the silver line stop, the common areas are really clean and spotless, management is friendly, helpful and swift. Would recommend Flats on D to a friend who has the budget.

The old management that we had when we first signed the lease was very nice. They were understanding of the hectic and often unpredictable nature of living in the city. However, the new management is Greystar, a large corporation that doesn’t care about the renters and just cares about the bottom line. The human connection that we had with the previous management is no longer there with Greystar, who view the renters as just another commodity to trade. For example, on Marathon Monday, a friend dropped by to visit and thus parked in the visitor parking space. The signage and the emails from Greystar made it seem like that “visitors” were those just dropping by. My friend stayed for less than an hour and was towed, which caused unnecessary stress and $170 in exact cash to get their car back. This level of stringent policy enforcement just proves that this apartment is not worth your time anymore. We are contemplating not renewing our lease as a result.

I would have rated 5 stars last year, but it has been a NIGHTMARE living here since new management took over in 2024. For example, on one nightmarish night, my visitor parked in a spot “for future residents and visitors ONLY” (management’s exact words). She was here for 30 minutes, and then poof, her car was gone. We thought it might have been stolen. There was no note, and no signage indicating that unauthorized cars would be towed. We called the Boston police, and to our dismay, learned that the car had been towed. We also learned that we would need $170 in exact cash to get it back. We felt bad enough about what had happened, but management’s response the next day made us feel worse. They said we told you in several emails (which I never received) that cars parked there would be towed, and that they would not reimburse us and take no further action to prevent this from happening to current and future residents. They clearly don’t care about their residents and their visitors. Unless you want to deal with them, I suggest you find another place to live.

Beautiful place in a perfect location. The only issue is some of the tenants are very unfriendly and rude. But if you keep to yourself it’s amazing!

It’s been great so far. Only a few maintenance requests I’m still waiting on. Other than that, love the building and the amenities. Spacious and easy to keep clean
Will raise the rent aggressively every year. The garage door and doors to the outside are often broken. When you email management to ask them it takes 4-5 emails before you get a response. It's a fact and they know it - I have so many emails saying "hey, following up, can you respond please?"
Great apartment amenities, but noise from neighbors and the street can be an issue. Central air, in unit washer and dryer, dishwasher, delivery lockers, roof deck, gym, and bike racks are all included. On-site parking is available for an additional fee.

easy to get in, but hard to stay long. It takes 6 month back and forth to fix a dish-washer issue (detergent left). Even non-negotiable renewal rent when it is much higher than the market price.

I enjoyed living here for many years. Great location, short walk to many restaurants, places of interest, transit, or your office if you work downtown. - 9' ceilings are fantastic - amenities are well maintained - maintenance is responsive and very professional - frequent community events - parcel system while at times gets full, i never had any issues with it - engaged management, frequent updates to community spaces and the buildings as part of their annual planning - buildings are fairly quiet - staff is very responsive / available --- - fire alarm tends to go off in the buildings 1-2 times a year. although its bound to happen - garages tend to have a long waitlist to get a spot - hefty rent increases can be expected if you're renewing in spring/summer/fall - occasional nuisance neighbor smoking or letting their dog pee in common areas and not cleaning up after them

As of 11/1/23 I’ve been a resident at Flats On D for 8 years and although the amenity areas and common spaces have continued to be kept nice and clean, not as much can be said for the trash rooms, hallways, elevators and the pavement in front of the building on D St. The location of the building and it’s proximity to Lawn On D, downtown Boston and the newly renovated Seaport District are all still a plus but the constant turnover of employees in the leasing of coming and going is a detriment.

I have lived in a number of different apartments over the past handful of years and Flats on D is by far the best!!! The buildings are so well maintained, and everyone that works here has been incredible. Not to mention the location is perfect, a quick walk to both Southie and Seaport. This place truly feels like home and I never want to move out! Highly would recommend to anyone looking in the area :)

Couldn’t get a parking space assigned to the building where I live. Management team was not professional enough and made many mistakes handling our move in. The service team is very nice. The guys came in and gave us lots of help.

Flats on D continues to have the friendliest staff I've seen in an apartment building. Their willingness to help residents out and put on fun programs is great to see. Personally, I find that aspect of living here helps make up for some of the annoyances of living in this area like all the noise from the road outside, which I know they can't really do anything about.

Gym equipment needs to be upgraded. Many machines don’t work. Also the pipes are quite noisy which interferes with sleep in studios. Apart from that, the staff is great, community has great common areas, the building is clean and the neighborhood/location is awesome (southie and seaport are 2 of my fav Boston neighborhoods).

Building is great, well managed, staff is very responsible and responsive. I moved for a new job and needed a place to live, very quickly. The staff were very helpful and I secured a fantastic apartment within weeks. The automation (web site, payments, maintenance requests, app for front door, app for packages) is very simple and easy to manage.

Given the proximity to the Seaport, airport, Interstate-93 and T station this apartment is fun and convenient. The summertime has been particularly enjoyable with frequent events, live music and an easily accessible hangout right across the street at the new pop-up Lawns on D. This area of Boston has been becoming so popular and continues to grow with young professionals that our apartment has been situated in an ideal location to truly enjoy Boston city living. Some of the perks of the apartment have been the private gym which is always clean, available and provides free, filtered water. Additionally, we've maximized the use of the outdoor grilling, bocce ball and firepit most summer nights, sipping wine and watching the planes land in the distance. Definitely check out Flats on D if looking to live in the Seaport District of Boston.
The Flats on D is a great apartment complex located directly across from the Lawn on D. The apartment complex staff is extremely helpful and responsive. There have only been a few times that I have needed something addressed in my apartment and it was fixed the next day. The gym and outdoor spaces are great along with the dog friendly atmosphere. The building also routinely holds events within the building which is a great opportunity to meet your neighbors while having some free food and drinks. The staff is definitely there to please!
