Sugar House is one of Salt Lake City’s oldest yet hippest neighborhoods. This trendy locale was home to a sugar beet farm over 10 years ago. Today, Sugar House has grown into one of the city’s most vibrant enclaves known for its lively food, nightlife, and culture scenes. With top-notch public transportation, including the Sugar House Streetcar, the area has a reputation that just keeps growing and it’s not hard to see why. Packed with eclectic eateries, chic brewpubs, specialty shops, art galleries, golf courses, and sprawling urban green spaces, Sugar House has something for every renter, all within walking distance. With stellar mountain views, Sugar House Park is a local favorite for jogging and bike riding while Fairmont Park is home to the Sugar House Farmers Market. Despite being one of the city’s most popular neighborhoods, Sugar House has surprisingly affordable houses and apartments available for rent along with plenty of upscale options.

Property Ratings at Foothill Place
We love it here. We plan on staying here for the next several years. The swimming pools in the summer are fun, it’s a walking distance to Walmart and it’s a locked facility
It’s a great place to live, friendly people and staff and close proximity to everything. People of all ages live here and it’s very close to the freeway and university but neither interfere with living here. It’s super quite as well
it's been good so far. I like the accessibility to the highway and nearby shops. happy that the hot tub is fixed, and enjoying the apartment gym.
Love it here. Such a great environment to live. The staff are very nice and sweet. The rooms are huge. The pools are amazing, the dog park is fun. The gym is nice.
Our resident experience has been absolutely amazing so far. We have really been able to settle in and make this place our home. We absolutely love hot tubs so we’re looking forward to that being fixed soon!!
It's a friendly community with friendly staff. It feels peaceful and safe with lots of fun opportunities. Our place is spacious and feels like home. The grounds are really pretty and well kept too.
It’s been a great experience here. I’ve lived here for two years and I have no complaints. Great location to both the freeway and to the university of Utah. There is a wide range of ages living here. Overall, it’s a great place to live!
I had a great time at Foothill Place. The staff and maintenance were prompt and helpful. The complex was clean and pleasant, with lots of updates made in my time there. Friendly neighbors as well
Staff is always super helpful and kind. The location has been perfect. Neighbors are great too. The dog park and dog bath have been huge perks. The pool is awesome as well.
Really enjoyable place to settle down for the short term. Dog friendly with a park and bathing station. Quiet location but right off the freeway. Very well priced
My daughter and dog love it here. It's been amazing and surprisingly quiet. The office has been awesome and even helped out my daughter when she misplaced her key
The leasing office staff have been great! There was a move in special going on when I was moving in and they made sure that I got the most out of the special. If I ever have any questions regarding leasing or the apartment they always answer!
We've loved living here! The location could not be more perfect sitting right next to the free way entrance, but we still feel pretty safe and secluded. We've taken full advantage of the amenities as well, including the pool in the summer, hot tub in the winter, and all the fun little resident competitions and engagements such as the Halloween door decorating contest! :) The parking isn't the best if you live with 2 people because they only offer 1 covered parking spot at $35 a month, with no option to purchase extra. This can be challenging during the winter, but not bad at all in the summer. Even with that in mind, still a five star apartment considering the cost, location, amenities, and overall comfort and vibe. Thank you guys!
We love it here!!! This place is close to family and work. We love the ability to walk around and get to know people. I love the locked doors and it’s nice in the winter to not have to walk to much outside to get to our car.
The apartment complex is nice. It’s a good clean staff neighborhood. The office staff are rude. The amenities are always broken. The rent is overpriced.
The community here is amazing and friendly. You never really know that others are living right next to you. It’s close to the U of U campus and the apartments are nice and spacious
Good place to live, close to the university, park city and other ski destinations. Some apartments are older but reasonable, after the. Renovations they get a bit pricey
We love it here! There is so much to do and a great community. Super dog friendly and right next to a ton of beautiful trails. The staff is super helpful and our apartment is very quiet.
So far my experience has been great. Everything is super easy. Everyone is friendly and helpful. I feel very safe in the complex and in my apartment, and the apartment itself is super nice (I don't have the refurbished one).
I love living here. It’s at the perfect location we’re surrounded by lovely neighbors and it’s so great for the dogs! If you have a social dog, I can’t think of a better place to call home
I have been here almost 5 yrs and I have had nothing but good experience with staff, maintenance, and management alike. They have great amenities and our own private dog park and so the pups all get to know one another and so they get to have regular friends. If anything is wrong or breaks in apt the office and maintenance get right on it and it's done asap and done right ! The office staff is always bright and friendly and always helpful and willing to go above and beyond for any tenant.
I’ve loved living here so far! Staff are great, the area is lovely, and neighbors are so friendly! Absolutely love it! The price is great especially for all the amazing amenities. For students and university staff, it’s great to be on foothill and get to campus easily. Lots of great things around too!
Pros: Quiet In unit washer/dryer Nearby parking It took over a month to get my washer/dryer replaced. I received zero phone calls, text messages, or emails. It took 3 maintenance tickets, multiple emails, and an angry voicemail to the office to get this resolved. My parking space has been unavailable now for 2 months after they knocked down the old covered parking. We were told it would take 6 weeks. There has been no communication since they were torn down to update us on the status. They recently did "asphalt repair" by having someone put down tar patches but in reality the entire parking lot needs to be repaved as it is crumbling and falling apart in quiet a few places. A little tar is not going to fix that. Also during the winter you can expect to be told that waiting 10 minutes for hot water is normal. I didn't want to leave this review but you kept emailing me asking me to. This is my honest review. I would love to rate this place higher but they don't deserve it.
Normally would be a 5-star. Only reason for a slight, slight demerit - is that the hot-tub was closed for an inordinate amount of time due to chemical imbalance. Personally I snowboard most of the winter (3-4x per week) and I'd like to soak after.
The interior is renovated and clean. Ths rent cost is reasonable, and neighbors are quiet. However, the hallway is always dirty, mail room system is always down so it takes forever to find my package, and there’s constant A/C outdoor fan noise from the roof. Other than these, I like this apartment so far.
Everyone here has been super friendly. I love it here so far. There's lots of dogs to play with my puppy. The dog park and bath has been super nice.
Great place to live and the pool party the other night was great the staff is amazing here, the prizes and games also all the food and drinks were cool. I'd recommend this place to anyone.
It’s an amazing community that is close to the U and has people of all ages. Even near a busy road you can barely ever here the traffic. Great everything and would recommend to all

This is the best area and apartments around here. We move here for 2 years and we decided to more, now we had been leaving here for seis years.

Good place to live. Lots of amenities although one pool is currently open out of 2. Nice dog park and close to 80 and the the U. Good place for grad students

Good experience here. Comfortable apartment, quick responses to maintenance request. Lots of updates being done to property. Nice neighbors as well
I enjoy the amenities. We use the pool and hot tub nearly daily, although the second pool has been having issues recently. The gym is small and nice in a pinch, but anyone who has been training for any length of time will find the weights too light. The dog park is a dog park. The pet grooming station exists, without supplies. The clubhouse is there as well, though expensive ($$$) if you want to have a private party.
We love it here! It’s been a fantastic few months being here! I love the locked doors, it makes me feel safer. I love that it’s pet friendly, I feel like it’s a great place to raise a family.
Privacy, quiet, with fun opportunities to work out or play outside at the volley ball court and pool. Very nice landscaping with shade trees and community grills for BBQ!

Thank you for leaving a 5-star review! We appreciate you!
The apartments is old (1975) and remodeling quality is really poor. I guess the management hired low quality professional to fix the apartments. It’s spacious that’s the only positive. The management is horrible! They won’t even talk to you properly if you take any complaints. Their email replies rude. I would not suggest this place to anyone!
If you are social and love animals, this place is perfect. It's not just a place to live, it really is a community. I also never feel like I am in danger while on the property. I live on the first floor and don't hesitate to open my windows
I love these apartments so much! The office workers are the best. Always respond quickly to inquiries. Very functional and spacious apartments
The Good Great area. Good response time to fix leaky sink. The Bad This is owned by a company who’s only goal is to make money for the board of directors and rent safety is not a thing nor is fixing the pool which hasn’t been working for over a year. So as long as you have enough money to deal with rent increase anywhere from 250 dollars per month and understand the company is out of state and loyalty or paying your rent on time means nothing to the corporation
Beautiful property. Prompt response to repair requests. Friendly staff. Secure buildings. It feels like a community not an appointment complex.
Really great apartments!! Rent is affordable!!! I love the 24 hour gym!!!! And the pool is very nice in the summer!!!!!!! Lots of cute dogs too!!!
I've been a resident here at foothill place for almost 4 years and I've had nothing but great encounters with staff and maintenance. It's been am amazing experience! Always clean, and eell kept. Great tenants. The private pup park is me and the pups favorite place to go hang out and it's always well kept. Anything needed to be fixed is always done so in a very timely manner. I highly recommend this property.
This has been a great experience living at the Foothill place apartments. I 100% recommend especially if you have dogs and I need for an active lifestyle as there is a gym one sit and a dog park. There is plenty of parking
Is very nice live here, all the area are on good condition and the people are so friendly , always when you have any problem or something that you need to fix at the apartment you just need to call and theys fix it
It’s been amazing living here. The staff is amazing and very helpful and the people living here are great. It doesn’t even feel like you live right next to other people
Had some problems in the beginning but once we were settled in everything has been great!! Amenities are sweet, especially the pool and the location is super nice being so close to the freeway and sugar house!!
Location is great. Love having the Walmart right next door, and as close as can be to the freeway. Amenities are pretty decent, better than most apartments I've been in. The gym is a bit smaller than it looks and you can't really get a full workout in unless you are completely alone, but otherwise had some solid options. There are some weird power and gas charges tacked on every month even though they required to pay for these things on your own through Rocky Mountain, so that was confusing. If you live on your own the parking situation is pretty good, you get an assigned covered spot, but if there is two of you it can be challenging trying to find open/street parking. What Foothill outperforms in is maintenance requests. We had a few standard household issues such as a broken dishwasher, and when I put in a maintenance request they had it fixed the next day which was truly amazing and made me feel very well taken care of.
The other tenants are great neighbors to get to know and are very quiet. (Not overly noisy). I try to be the same for them. The leasing office staff are always friendly and will to resolve any issues that may arise (hot water, ceiling lights, or broken switch replacement by maintenance, who are prompt to respond to any requests. They are very nice and go about their business in a timely and efficient manner in resolving whatever issue I may have. They are in and out of my apartment in practically no time. No complaints here!
Had a decent experience living here, decided not to re-new because the rent kept going up, to stay in an un-renovated apartment with no opportunity to negotiate or change units. Amenities were okay, nothing spectacular. Definitely acceptable. Maintenance was usually pretty prompt and able to fix things. Lots of dogs, and dog droppings all over. I would stay, but again, the rent is just too high to stay in the same un-renovated apartment. Worth a 3.5 star rating, at the least.

Thank you for your continued interest in our community. While we’re sorry to see you did not enjoy your stay here, naturally a lot has changed since your time with us and we invite you to come by the office if you’d like to learn more about all the improvements we’ve made. Thank you for your feedback.
Foothill Place is a decent start for anyone looking to move to the SLC area. It's very safe and easy to get too and from the apartments as it has one of the best locations. It has a stunning view of the city and at the same time a gorgeous view of the mountains. Some of the apartments are a bit older, but despite that have been kept in relatively good condition. If something does need fixed, Maintenance is usually there to fix it within a few days.
