Quite quiet, beautifully decorated place. The presence of an artificial lake adds beauty and color to this place. The layout of the house is very good - there are no neighbors behind "every wall". The apartment is well lit during the day. And all this for a very reasonable price.

I've been living at Forest Cove for over 5 years and I love this place. It's been a retreat and a safe haven while getting up on my feet. When issues arise, management has always been prompt to address. My only wish would be that they had 3-bedroom apartments we could continue to grow into.

'll start by saying the natural ambiance, waterscapes, wooden bridges, and being PET FRIENDLY including a dog park were the main reasons why I chose this place and having to work from home sometimes I love to have such exterior view, so this place and its price worked great for me. Management (Liz) and team (Jennifer and Mar) are all great, they're considerate, respectful and professional, they continue to be very supportive to the community, love the new monthly newsletters where we get updated on news, love the events they continue to do (food buffets and giveaways), nice job! I like the resident portal which is very helpful to submit maintenance requests online where I describe the issue and provide photos to help explain without having to visit the office, one of which was for an AC replacement which they did on the same day, I was very happy with that, maintenance continue to do a good job with the place. Improvements continue to develop over time, one of the biggest improvements/decisions made this year was making this place Eco-friendly with No Smoking policy, that was a major concern when I first moved in last year, smoke and marijuana coming in from the bathroom vents and corridor which impacted me being and my dog especially that her nose is 100,000 times more sensitive than mine, this brings me to talk about the neighbors and community in general. I agree with some reviews that we do have "inconsiderate neighbors" who don't comply with contract, office rules and guidelines, bikes not in right place, smoking continues!, speeding while we're told max speed is 20, balconies with furniture while we’re advised not to have due to fire hazards, people not cleaning after their dogs while bags were made available for free!, given that office notified us through emails and noticeboards on all these concerns, and recently the towing notice delivered in advance, I believe office is being "patient as possible" with the neighbors, I hope community would be more mindful and respectful to notices and other neighbors, better to read and understand the contract and clauses to avoid issues with office.
Forest Cove is a beautiful community to reside in. The units are slacious and modern, the complex area is great for walking in and around and is conveniently located near businesses, shopping and dining locations.

I fell in love with the place from first sight visit, loved the natural ambience, the pool, the ducks and birds, I'm a nature person so all works for me, and the community is pretty friendly and peaceful, most importantly office management and the wonderful personnel, everything works great to my criteria. I lived here from August 2020 to July 2021. Almost always quiet and it almost feels like you are not even in a major metro area-surrounded by trees and there is a pond on the property-yet close to everything you need. The 1BRs are quite spacious, especially the bedroom, and the updates are a good touch, I especially liked the cherry cabinets in the kitchen and the bathroom. Plenty of closet space for the bedroom. Perhaps the only complaint I have is my upstairs neighbor always seemed to be stomping on the floor to the point where the ceiling vibrated, it was irritating at times. I filed a complaint once but that did not seem to change much. The only reason I did not renew my lease was they increased the price $250/month.
You can hear the pipes heating up and the walls make noise plus they look cracked on corners

The walk on the lodge is very beautiful/ peaceful as well as the nature and the feel of the forest out here very peaceful

I love how peaceful and serene it is around my apartment. The view from my patio is very nice to say the least. My guests are very impressed by the scenery. And the location for me is awesome!
I have enjoyed my time with Forest Cove. The atmosphere is breathtaking. The staff is always friendly and able to reply to emails and answer questions. Maintenance comes when he is available and is super kind/helpful Its been a great experience so far!

I started living here out of necessity, but when the time came to choose a place to live, this was still my place. I love the lodge feel, the apartments are decent and I love that we have everything so accessible I don't have the need for a car. I've also had excellent experience with management.
In my overall experience here at Forest Cove I feel valued due to the fast response I received when my air conditioning went out, they were here then next morning with a new one. Ive called regarding the washer not working and they fixed it within 24 hrs. My neighbors are very friendly and a pleasure to have near me.
My little slice of heaven on earth. Couldn't be happier happier with the place as a whole. I will be here for years to come!

Its a wonderful community, and the amenities are excellent, but the communication and lack of responses from the management offices is beyond sub-par.

A little slice of heaven right off of 83/Busse! The staff, beauty of the place and overall peaceful vibe is bar none! I think my parents want to come live here after they sell their house!
It's like a little slice of paradise hidden on 83/Busse. I felt like I opened a magic door to another plane when I walked to the leasing office. Everything is so beautiful and well managed. Betty is phenomenal and my entire experience so far has been nothing but pure joy!
I want to share a positive experience that I had with these apartments. First of all - the apartments look wonderful! You have to visit that place in order to realize what I am talking about. And, the environment around the building- I have no words! Paradise! One more thing- I have to mention Peggy, the leasing manager. SHE IS THE MOST KIND PERSON EVER! Not only she is helpful, but also is very patient and careful! In contrast to all other leasings managers, she provided all the necessary information, including the smallest details. She wrote down even the smallest costs in order to help us to figure out what the full amount of our bills will be. Positive attitude, willingness to help and kindness are her features that pushed me to write this review. Thanks Peggy!
I went to just inquire about the apartment, I was greeted by a very nice staff person name, Peggy, she was so kind and answered all of my questions, showed me how the one bedroom would look like, which is extremely nice.. I really loved how the it looked.. I told her I would come back to fill out the application, when I returned I met, Chris.. the (property Manager), she was SUPER nice, needless to say, I moved in and I am soooo happy with my place, Chris and Peggy called me just to see was everything ok with the place... I love the staff.. If you are looking for a great place.. I HIGHLY recommend the Forest Cove Apartments..??
This is a pretty community with apartments very nice and the landscaping done so pretty. The balcony's are nice and spacious but you can't really sit out on them because of all the smoking. The people under me smoke I believe every hour outside. The people next door to me smoke and I can smell smoke in the halls on the war to my apartment. I have my window open for some fresh air at night and I'm woken up to cigarette smoke at 3am. When I wake up at 5am, I wake up to cigarette smoke again. I go for a walk and every where you look there are people smoking. Too bad they can't designate some building non smoking. I can just imagine how the pool area will be this summer. It looks very pretty but again I believe it will be a Smokers's Paradise and you won't be able to sit out there comfortably without smelling cigarette's all around you.
Renovations are a little cheap for the price. I can hardly ever open my back patio door without using full body weight and the walls are very thin. Gas charges are based on what the building controls...not your own apartment and in the summer it can get up to 40 dollars a month? Not sure why.... For the price I just wish I looked around and did more research. The staff is pretty nice, though, and the pool is pretty awesome if you don't go during child prime times.
I have lived at Forest Cove for 3 years. I recently just transferred into a renovated unit. The finishes are very nice and the new staff is wonderful to work with. I am happy to be in a newer renovated apartment.
DO NOT RENT FROM HERE!!! They are highly dishonest. The pet rent is per pet not just per month, they act as if they care but don't, they will be nice to you at first but once you sign the lease that goes away, they want money and only money. They tack on charges and have no excuse for them. Heat during the winter is one not controlled by you it is controlled by them and can get very expensive, well over $100 at times. You can pay online but it will be a different amount then what is billed to you because they have not put on the gas yet. We are so glad to be done with this place and hope that others head our warnings. There has been two fires in this complex just since June, both caused by tenants putting food on the stove to cook and leaving. One took a shower and the other went to the store. Theft of property from inside the secured building and tires taken off cars while parked in the lot. Both times the office could have cared less.
Property Manager at Forest Cove Apartments, Responded To This Review
I am writing in response to this reviewers comments. My name is Jack Seary and I have been the Community Manager at Forest Cove since my company purchased the property, just over a year ago on 12/4/2014. The reviewer is correct about the pet fee being charged per month/per pet. We include this policy on all of our marketing as well as our pet addendum. Upon move-in, which was prior to our purchase, they had 1 cat. Shortly thereafter they brought another cat into the apartment. When it was discovered that they were housing a second pet the additional monthly fee was added to their charges. When confronted with this, I agreed that it was fair to abide by the previous owner's policy in this matter and the additional charge was promptly removed. The heat is allocated by square footage and each apartment has a digital thermostat for individual control. It is not uncommon for heating bills to go up in the winter, especially when we experience record low temperatures as we did last winter. Gas charges did go as high as $80 per month in some apartments, but they dropped to as low as $5 for the spring and summer months. The discrepancy with the online amounts is very easy to explain. Most of the charges for each month are available to view online before the 1st of the month. Unfortunately, there is a delay in the posting of gas charges which is beyond my control. The gas charges aren't added to the accounts until the 1st of each month. I have explained this to other residents and they pay regularly online without incident. Apparently I didn't explain it clearly when speaking to this resident. I offer my apologies for that shortcoming. There actually was a fire in June of 2015. It was a tragic day at Forest Cove, but thankfully all of our residents were vacated safely. The fire was deemed accidental by the Mt Prospect Fire Department. Eighteen families were displaced on that day but everyone was safe. Those resident's without renter's insurance were offered temporary housing by our management company. I am proud to say that we are the type of company to go above and beyond in a situation like this. If we were "by the book" in this matter the uninsured residents would have been without a roof over their head indefinitely. I have never been notified by this resident of a theft at their apartment. Had I known I would have personally called the Mt Prospect Police Department. We have a very good relationship with the department and the Village of Mt Prospect. I have made a commitment to quality apartment living which includes our unique setting, state of the art amenities and stunning apartment renovations. I respect this reviewer's right to express his opinion but I respectfully disagree. I would like to invite those that are reading this comment to stop by. Come and see what we have done.
