Fitchburg is a fairly small city in north central Massachusetts on the banks of the Nashua River. At its eastside campus, Fitchburg State University enrolls around 7,000 students and employs hundreds of locals as faculty and staff, and serves as a major cultural and intellectual hub for the community. The city is surrounded by lush nature preserves, with the forests and mountains providing endless opportunities for outdoor recreation— cool off at the Great Lodge New England water park in the summer, and hit the slopes at Wachusett Mountain Ski Area in the winter. Boston is only about fifty miles to the east, with MBTA rail service allowing you to make the trip in less than ninety minutes.

Property Ratings at Forest Ridge Apartments
Love my unit new floors new cabinets all property is maintained well landscape and trash is always cleaned up any time there's a maintenence issue they are on top of it right there to help 24hrs a day there's a pool open in summer which I also love on hot days nice a private and cleaned weekly they try hard to keep the place up
Learn your rights as a tenant before signing your lease with these people and read up.on their responsibilities. I've never lived in an apartment that I needed to use a hair dryer to.open my windows because because they have so much ice frozen on the inside of the window frame I'm physically unable to open them. My 6ft tall 230lb husband could not open it either. It wasn't just one window,it was several. It wasn't just me, it was many tenants. I've heard horror stories from other residents. There are vermin and carpenter ants and even roaches that maintenance claims are wood roaches, not German roaches!! But they were there most likely because one of our neighbors left their trash outside their door to rit and stink. People have huge dogs. I have a tiny dog and I've seen three pitbulls just this summer. The guy across from us, has people coming in and out all day and night, at least ten people per day. It's really scary. There is mold everywhere in our apartment and we discovered it while moving our things in. Management is terrible. The woman is so hateful, even when someone stole my child's bike, from inside our building and broke the lock. She told us to move out if we felt so unsafe. No one takes care of the pool in the summer. Residents take their dogs to swim in it but I wouldn't even let my dog swim in it because it is never cleaned. Trash covers the grass, cigarette butts and empty nip bottles everywhere. They claim to have secured entry, they do not. They do not have intercom systems and from what I was told, they haven't for almost four years. The lock on our outside door has been broken since I moved in. The entire time we have lived here i have been sick and so has my son. There are also windows in the shower so in the winter months, you will absolutely freeze to death.
Management moved to New Hampshire, so you have to call a third party service to reach them. I had a noise issue at night and was told to "Call the Cops" because no one was in the office at that time. My message was not even relayed to management. Constant noise thanks to the new hardwood floors on every floor and paper thin walls. All appliances are old and falling apart, but painted to look "new". The call boxes out front are for show, they don't work and haven't in 9 years. You have to handle emergencies and grievances by yourself - Fire Alarms are not sent to the Fire dept, so you have to call and if you have an issue with neighbors (noise, took your parking, etc) you have to handle it yourself, because once again the management is in another state and leaves the office at 5pm. Stay away unless you're in desperate need of a place to live.

my kitchen floods when it rains, they forgot to mention there are roaches, all my neighbors are grouchy and find every little thing to complain about, I'm on my own, my electricity bill is always sky high and they won't let me have my dog because she's 5 lbs overweight but let a 35 lb overweight dog in the building next to me. Not okay. I need to leave ASAP
We have just moved in and so far it has been well. We were promised an apartment and recieved a recent remodeled apartment, with redone floors and what appears to be recently replaced kitchen cabinets. The general area is quiet and family friendly which is great for a student who is dedicated to schoolwork. we are overall generally happy with our apartment choice.
