Property Ratings at Forest View Apartments
Just save yourself the headache and find a better place. Some of the reviews here seem biased one way or another, but if there's anything you should read before considering moving here, I'll stick to some facts: - Lived in Forest View Apartments for 12 months personally, and I knew by the 3rd week in I wasn't going to enjoy it like I'd have hoped. - The leasing office is not on site. It's actually about a 15 minute drive one way. - Forest View is run by a single person who answers to every need. - Getting ahold of said person can be next to impossible. She is out of the office frequently, takes about 1 week to respond to emails (if at all), and is typically gone by 4pm. - Maintenance can be spotty, but they are generally kind; sometimes they show, more often than not they don't show. - There's basically no consistency. In trying to adopt a dog, a 2-week debate happened where I was first told "we don't allow dogs", but confronted this by mentioning several of my neighbors had dogs. This led to a response of "ohh, that's right, we do allow dogs, but none over 20lbs". When I told them that my next door neighbor had a Black Lab, they replied with "well, sometimes we do up to 50lbs, but that's the maximum". When I raised the point that both a Great Dane and a Husky lived across from me, I was told "okay, we can look into it" and the person then said they needed to get off the phone. - The AC/Heating unit is comically old, only blows air out of the top in front of a massive window, would blow out 75 degree air on a good day in the summer, and runs up your electric bill like crazy. Mine personally malfunctioned during December and run non-stop, leading to a bill of $190 for a tiny 1-bedroom apartment. - The cheap paint used on the walls/ceiling led to gross yellow stains all over the apartment when the summer humidity kicked in (I'm a non-smoker). I washed the walls on move-out to ensure my deposit back, knowing I didn't want to argue over something I knew I was right about and risk losing money over just for pride's sake. - My patio fence was decaying, old wood that had fallen apart years ago. - The gutter above my door was smashed, so each time it would rain there would be a heavy stream directly in front of the door. - My bathroom had water damage on the trim, floor, ceiling, and even the linen closet - Only a handful of places had dishwashers or new AC units for no extra cost as I found out If you can avoid living here, you'll be doing yourself a huge favor
I loved this apartment!!! I had a one bedroom and it was very spacious for just me. You could live his here as a couple because there is plenty of closet space through out the house and an attic. Nice quiet area my neighbors were nice and quiet as well. If I wouldn't have got a jobin another city I would of stayed there long term. Only one problem I'm not a bug person and because it's surrounded by trees/mini forest lol my door way in the spring, especially summer, and fall was covered with spider webs and all kinds of gross bugs that fly. Maintenance does come around and spray the sides of the apartments but not enough.
