Forks is located in the heart of Washington’s Olympic Peninsula between the Olympic Mountains and the Pacific Ocean beaches. This rural community embraces an active lifestyle and most locals spend their time outdoors. The majority of Forks’ main attractions are located in Olympic National Park, which is right next to town. The reservation offers a large variety of things to do including fishing, boating, wildlife viewing, camping, and more. Be sure to venture to the Hoh Rain Forest to view the gorgeous lush canopy of coniferous and deciduous species. Visit Kalaloch Beach and search for starfish and anemones in the tide pools.

Along with majestic natural landmarks filled with opportunities for adventure, Forks also has unique museums. Learn about Forks’ history of logging while standing in an authentic fire lookout tower at the Forks Timber Museum. Visit John’s Beachcombing Museum and view the hundreds of items collected off of local beaches repurposed into art and artifacts.

Forks is a small town but the area is always busy with unique events. Sign up for the annual Salmon Derby, a fishing contest along the Calawah River or celebrate weaving at the Fabric of the Forest Quilt Show. The biggest festival of the year is Forever Twilight in Forks, a three-day event celebrating the popular saga series, “Twilight.” The series is based off of Forks and some of the films were even shot here. The community takes huge pride in their connection to the vampire series and features a plethora of events, vendors, and entertainment including a gallery showing of memorabilia.
