Property Ratings at Fort Totten Square
Been here since 2019. Love my unit and the location. Complex is easily accessible to many transit options and offers activities to show appreciation to the tenants. My property manager is great! The office and front desk staff as well as the maintenance crew are available to answer questions or address concerns by phone, tenant portal and in person. Running into them in the halls is the same as running into fellow neighbors.

Thank you for sharing your 5-star feedback as a loyal resident! It means a lot to know you have been well served by our friendly team, and we hope you'll continue to enjoy our great location and service for a long time to come.
Truly one of the toughest living experiences but the manicured features make it better. The apartment sits on top of Walmart in a newly gentrified area. The shipment trunks often triggered the alarms in the wee hours of the nights. I lived here 3 years and in my last year I just had to get used to an alarm waking up the entire building between 3-4am which would last AT LEAST an hour. It happened probably every other week. Also, because of the area and lack of security we went through a season of frequent car break ins right in front of the building in broad daylight. And the entrance by the Walmart is not manned by security so homeless people and teens would sneak in. They’d shower, sleep and smoke weed in the clubhouse area. I’m a young woman who lived alone and I even had a situation. Some young men would hang out right at the back entrance. And one evening I walked out and I was shocked by so many so close. I did not greet them and one threatened to physically harm me. I got a security guard to escort me back to my apartment through another door—and that guard tried to hit on me. It took me a very long time to go out and get groceries so close to night time. But their front desk staff is always great. It’s not their fault management is too cheap to hire real security.
Great staff, great maintenance, wonderful amenities with a dishwasher, microwave and washer/dryer in every unit.
Despite constant claims to the contrary, Fort Totten Square is the loudest building I have ever been in. There is absolutely nothing blocking you from the movie/music someone next door or upstairs is playing. The garbage disposal and washing machines of units above you can be heard as if they were your own going off. Aside from this, when the office is highly disorganized and unable to cope with the slightest thing gone wrong for a resident. The one good thing I can say about this place is the price...then again, you get what you pay for.

Hello, I am sorry to hear that your personal experience within our community has been anything short of stellar. I would greatly appreciate the opportunity to speak with you directly in regards to the procedures set in place for resident and our management personnel to effectively address concerns, if they were to arise within the community. If you would like to speak in more detail, I am available at 202-832-0705 or between 9am-6pm daily within the leasing office. I look forward to speaking with you and being provided the opportunity to improve your experience here at Fort Totten Square. Sincerely ~ Dionte Dupree, Property Manager
Very Modern building, quiet, great amenities, good location, your close the mix but not in mix, no issues with car break-ins or a lot of random people walking the streets. The apartments are alot larger than most one bed rooms in dc. I would recommend this apartment to anyone moving to the city.
The office staff are very helpful in meeting your needs and making the transition to the community as easy as possible. The building is very nice with many modern amenities. The neighborhood is in the process of changing, therefore if you are willing to live in luxury in a gentrifying area, this is a great place to call home. The only downfall is the $135 fee for parking which is not reasonable in my opinion.
