Foster City is home to several large corporate offices, but its central location in the Bay Area puts it just minutes away from San Francisco, Oakland, and Silicon Valley, making it a great rental option for commuters—positioned right at the foot of the San Mateo Bridge, even getting to the other side of the bay is easy.
Recreation on the water is quite popular among the locals, with extensive waterways making life easy for boaters and the frequently-windy conditions on San Francisco Bay drawing windsurfers and kite surfers (those who enjoy nice views of the bay but prefer to stay dry can take advantage of the Bay Trail for walking, running, or biking). Public services in Foster City are top notch-- the crime rate here is exceptionally low, and the schools earn excellent marks across the board.

Property Ratings at Fosters Landing
Eboni was nice maintence was great The bad Office is always closed even during office hours the door is locked and all the windows are blocked. You ever need anything good luck they are impossible to reach. They raise the rent as much as they can when they can. They also have ridiculous service fees. I was paying 188 dollars a month for sewage?? That doesn't include water, hot water, trash, pg&e, renters insurance etc. You will pay altogether another 400-500 on top of your quoted rent. Amenities are way outdated. The pool near me was always under construction and never functional. Their gyms are tiny and pathetic. It's like two treadmills and a bunch of small weights. I had 3 leaks in my apartment too. One day I'm Just hanging out in my living room and the whole ceiling just starts pouring water all over the place from the washer above me. I had a leak in the kitchen sink that ruined the whole kitchen island, which they charged me for after move out! Finally there was a crack in the front of the building which was leaking through my window in to my living room.

Hello, We regret that you had a negative experience at Foster’s Landing. While we understand that rent and utility expenses can be very high in the Peninsula, our rental rates dictated by market conditions and utility charges are set by the providers. We completed an exhaustive review of your move-out charges, and although we determined that they appear to be correct, we did make an adjustment to the flooring charges as a gesture of courtesy. We appreciate the feedback and thank you for choosing to call Foster’s Landing your home.- Dean Z., Community Relations Manager

We recently signed the lease and started renting this place about two weeks ago. It seems to be a very quiet and safe neighborhood, and the apartment itself looks nice. However, I have already started to feel very uncomfortable. During the initial move-in inspection, the room was not completely cleaned. The walls were not painted, there were spider webs, and the kitchen counter had some sticky residue. We informed the leasing office about the matter. They quickly arranged for maintenance to take care of it. However, the kitchen counter was still not cleaned. We are still in the intermediate process of moving and haven't lived there yet, nor have we used the kitchen. Despite this, the leasing office is now claiming that since we have 'lived there long enough,' any cleaning was our responsibility, not the previous tenant’s. I have asked them to inspect the apartment to see for themselves that we have never used it, but they have stopped replying to me. I am very concerned because the leasing office is not being helpful and is blaming us for something we haven't done without proper inspection.

Hello, We sincerely regret the delay that occurred in responding to you, and addressing this issue. Rest assured, we understand that the condition of the countertop surfaces in your new home were not to Essex's standard and we're committed to rectifying the problem. We hope that we were able to address your concerns, and thank you for your patience on this matter. - Dean Z., Community Relations Manager
My boyfriend and I just signed our lease to move in to Foster's landing. What a beautiful facility and nice staff. Angie the staff person who showed me around was pretty nice and explained everything to me patiently. I fell in love with the apartment right away. It was spacious, clean and upgraded. Exactly the way I want it. I had to do the whole leasing process by my self as my boyfriend was at work this day. And Blinda and Abgie were really good help to get all the paperwork done and the lease signed in one day. I think if you want to be in a place where you feel cared about and get stuff done in a very effeciant time. Give Foster's landing a try.
