Welcome to historic Foster's Place located in the heart of downtown Dover!!! Formerly the headquarters of the Foster's Daily Democrat newspaper, this Dover landmark has been transformed into modern apartments in the heart of NH's fastest growing city. Situated directly across from the Rotary Arts Pavilion and overlooking Dover’s Lower Square, Henry Law park and the Cocheco River, Foster’s Place offers the premier location for downtown living. In the summer you will enjoy the fresh farmer’s market right outside your front door, Friday night concerts at the Rotary Arts Pavilion, and the beautify landscaped flowers of Henry Law Park. In autumn you will have THE front row seat for Dover’s famous “Apple Harvest Day” festival. In the winter join city residents as Dover lights up the city’s 30’ Christmas tree located just steps from Foster’s Place. As a resident at Foster’s Place you will have Dover’s many fine restaurants, shops, and attractions all within walking distance. Share a pint at the local breweries, grab a cup of coffee and a donut at the bakery, browse the shops for that unique piece, dine at award winning restaurants, or take the little ones for a day of fun at the Children’s Museum of NH, Dover’s Adventure park, and Henry Law Park located right across the street! Traveling to and from Dover? Foster’s Place is located just 1/3 of a mile from the City of Dover Transportation center offering train service from Boston, MA to Portland, ME and bus service to many seacoast locations including the Pease International Tradeport, the Portsmouth Naval Shipyard, Great Bay Community College, the University of New Hampshire and more!!! Travel through New England and chances are you will notice that historic buildings have been demolished and replaced by the same building being constructed over and over again with the same bland, cookie cutter apartments. At Foster’s Place it was our goal to not only save and preserve this historic landmark, but transform it with unique residences and layouts that honor the building’s rich history. Many of our residences combine the original exposed brickwork from the 1900’s with the modern conveniences one comes to expect in brand new apartments. Want some history? In addition to being the home of the Foster’s Daily Democrat newspaper for over 100 years, many United States President from 1936 through 2008 have stepped foot through these halls as part of the newspaper’s coverage of New Hampshire’s first in the nation Presidential Primary.

Property Ratings at Foster's Place
We lived there for four years and moved to be closer to friends. The location is great, our apt. was as well, and the management was top notch. They were always available, attentive, and very helpful.
I just moved from this apartment after a year’s lease. It was a wonderful time in this extremely well maintained recently renovated historic building in the center of town. Highly recommend! Attentive and friendly landlord.
I was a commuting graduate student to UNH & Foster’s Place provided me with the best experience! It was a great, quite place with very kind staff and neighbors and the location in Dover cannot be beat!
My husband and I have lived at Foster's Place for almost two years, and we can both say with certainty that it is the best apartment complex, with the best management, that we have ever had the privilege to rent from. The whole place is clean, well-maintained, and extremely secure. George and the team are always on top of everything, from mail and packages to snow plowing. We've had no issues at all and any maintenance is taken care of before we even have to request it. Neighbors are friendly and we never hear noise from other apartments. Garbage and parking are also easy (and clean!). It is truly a pleasure to live in this charming place that is run by such a kind and attentive landlord. The location is also perfect--walking distance to downtown and right next to a park. The only reason we are moving out is because a change of military orders is taking us to another state. We will miss Foster's Place!
Location is excellent! Our 2 BR with balcony overlooked Henry Law Park right in the heart of downtown. Always something going on, but the bedroom layout makes it very quiet. Easy walk to coffee shops, restaurants, post office, gyms, hardware store, Dover library, the Woodman Museum, and the transportation center. The apartment is modern and beautiful with new appliances, washer-dryer, and granite counters! Windows and slider to the balcony provide plenty of natural light. Assigned parking, fey fob building access, and security cameras provide peace of mind. The landlords are a local family and are outstanding. They are hands on, genuine, hardworking, energetic, and quick to respond to any issues which were few and far between. If you are looking for a great downtown experience look no further. Highly recommend!
Foster’s Place is a wonderful building! The location is a great combination of seacoast NH charm and tranquility, along with the “walkable” lifestyle that you would expect from being in a bigger city. There are many great restaurants, bars, bakeries, coffee shops, plus local attractions like the Children’s Museum, Indoor pool, several public parks, etc. all within a short walk. The units are well built and include modern amenities: electric heating/AC splits in all rooms, stainless steel appliances, washer/dryer in each unit, quality double-pane windows from Anderson, fast internet, etc. Many have nice views of Henry Law Park and the river, and a lot have private balconies although mine didn’t. There aren’t really any shared amenities (roof deck, gym, lounge, game room) but that’s fine for people seeking privacy and a tranquil, quiet environment. Other buildings nearby probably have more of a “dorm” feeling if that’s what you’re looking for. The neighbors are nice and many have dogs - it's a very dog-friendly building. The best part of Foster’s Place is George and the rest of the Kostis family, who are the best landlords I’ve ever had - polite, reasonable, responsive, and thoughtful. They respond to calls and emails the same day, often within minutes, and work hard to resolve any issues. They’re genuinely nice people and you can tell they really care about the property and the community. Available units tend to go quickly, but if you can get one, I don’t think there’s a better place to live downtown. If they had larger units (3 or 4 bedrooms) we would have stayed longer!
I can't say enough how much we enjoy living here. The apartment is very spacious compared to others we looked at downtown. Living on the park is really nice too and you can literally walk to everything, but what really sets this building apartment is the great management team! Very responsive and great communication. Love it here!!!
