Platteville maintains a small-town atmosphere despite being one of the largest and fastest growing cities in southwestern Wisconsin. Platteville exudes an old-world charm throughout its historic downtown district, brimming with eclectic shops and restaurants in rows of quaint, brick buildings. Platteville celebrates its agricultural roots with special events like the Dairy Days Festival, the Fall Harvest Dinner, and A Day on the Farm, which also foster a strong sense of community.
Located in the Driftless Region, Platteville is untouched by glaciers and distinctive for its limestone bluffs, valleys, and rolling hills. Fifteen city parks and more than 200 acres of open space provide abundant options for a variety of outdoor activities, including hiking, biking, fishing, and more.
Platteville is also home to the University of Wisconsin Platteville, the fastest growing school in the UW system.

Property Ratings at FOX RIDGE ESTATES
I totally enjoyed my stay at Fox Ridge Estates in Platteville. Only one mile to downtown. Even closer for UW-Platteville students and to hiking paths. Apartment layout was awesome. Full-sized washer and dryer, large bedroom and bathroom and perfectly arranged kitchen. I will truly miss it. Apartment managers were very attentive to any problems that came up. Very nice people!
I lived right in viewing distance to my landlords and the man landlord was literally always outside on his porch watching. I had an ESA animal and the landlords would always have something to say about my dog. They even had the gull to give me a warning for not picking up dog poop that wasn't even anywhere near my building. I always picked up my dogs poop every single time we went outside. I was even informed that I wasn't allowed to let my dog out on my deck because he barked at a couple of people as they were walking by. You know how he knew that? Because he was watching, he was literally always watching. I am a very clean person and take my shoes off and vacuum at least 1-2 times a week, so the carpet was spotless. Upon move out they had the gull to charge me 200 for carpet cleaning. I'm not even exaggerating when I say the place was SPOTLESS! The apartments themselves are VERY nice and I really miss is, but I do not miss the constant worrying of having to deal with the landlords every time I walk outside.
Property Manager at FOX RIDGE ESTATES, Responded To This Review
Thank you for taking the time to review your apartment. Indeed, Fox Ridge is a beautiful property, and the location is quite ideal; we are happy you made a home with us. To your point regarding your property manager, yes, he enjoys sitting out on his deck - his home sits atop the hill, and with a pleasant view like that, many of us would enjoy spending time relaxing on our porch - the private porches and balconies are a great amenity of Fox Ridge. Please understand that our property managers must work very hard at a pet-friendly property to please each resident: for every resident whose pet they want to feel welcome, they also have residents who want to ensure that their neighbors' pets don't encroach on their living experience. Consequently, property managers have to take the lease policies of dogs on leashes and clean-up of dogs' waste very seriously - they do this to ensure the best quality of life for all of the residents within the community. Had you tried reaching out to your managers while you lived there? They are always eager to listen to their residents and assist them in any way they can. Thank you for having made a home with Fox Ridge, and we welcome you to call the onsite managers if you are ever interested in returning.
Not kid friendly. Property managers view sidewalk chalk as graffiti and will yell at kids before talking with parents.
We had no problems the entire time we rented (except they never fixed the hole in the bedroom door caused by the previous tenant, the ceiling fan lights that did not work in the kitchen, or anything else that we requested) and we lived there for two years. When we moved out, I was moving because of a job relocation. We gave them 3 months advanced notice because we still had 3 months on our lease after we moved out, figured we would give them plenty of time to find a new tenant. We also advertised the apartment ourselves and lined up 4 different people to sign a lease. They were all turned away by our property manager because she said she already lined up a tenant. I asked her multiple times over the last month and she said everything was good and we would be free and clear of our lease. Upon check out, our apartment was spotless and we were to receive our full security deposit refund. After a month in our new place, we still never got the check. Upon following up, they told me they never lined up a renter and we had to pay rent on the place for the month of June and that they would take it from our security deposit. After taking the money directly from our deposit, they charged a $50 late fee on top of it! So even though we did everything right, gave them plenty of notice, lined up multiple tenants to take our apartment, they took $840 from us. I tried to reason with them because it was their fault and they straight up lied to us multiple times. They simply used the clause in the lease that allows them to give the next tenant incentives that come out of the previous tenants pocket. Do not rent here! They are thieves!!!!!
My husband and I had moved here a week after we got married. As we moved in our family loved seeing our new place. They were jealous of our spacious ceilings and our little deck. It is one of the best passengers here in Platteville, because it's up to date and cleaner than other apartments. I don't see this as our apartment but our home. I love to decorate it and make it homey especially when you can have up to two cats makes it even better. I would deffitently recommend it to anybody.
1. The location is alright, but there really is no place her for kids to play, or the college students who have to resort to playing football in the parking lot right next to many residents parked cars. 2. I suppose for the rent is comparable to any place else. 3.office staff??? Hmmmm.... 4.maintance.... There has been a plie of dead box elder bugs at the door for weeks! The building could really use a pressure wash. 5. I guess the amenities would be the VERY LOUD washer and dryer (NOT HE) and the small garage that's inconveinantly located nowhere near my front door--- actually around the back of the building.... 6. AND THE NOISE!! Absolutely the worst thing about this place! I can hear every word of my neighbors conversations, the infant downstairs screaming, neighbors washers running (again they're loud) hair dryers--- you name it! What ever noise someone law makes, you'll hear it here!! It's like there are curtains, not walls, between apartments.
Very nice place and have decided to rent from Fox Ridge.
I moved in when the apartment was brand new and I loved it but they were cheaply built. The building are still in great condition, but the cheap craftsmanship and cheap quality of the building materials is staring to show. For at least another few years, these apartments should be nice, but I wouldn't count on them lasting much longer than that. The paint is starting to chip off everywhere, and the ceiling is starting to crack. All the plumbing in the showers had to be replaced the first winter. And this past winter it took them over a month to fix my heat after it broke. They ended up replacing the whole system piece by piece to get it to work. The staff are really nice though.
These apartments definitely gave us the best bang for our buck in the Platteville area. We had viewed other area apartments and were not as impressed with what they had to offer. Bedrooms/Baths are spacious as well as the private garage. We also love the convenience of having on-site managers available whenever we need them. Right from our first contact, Carl and Becca were very professional and welcoming and made this place feel more like a home rather than an apartment unit.
