Property Ratings at Foxboro Apartments
When I moved here Christine was nice and helpful after that they changed the managers and the place became very bad. They treated me so bad even though it was their fault all the time. They was supposed to clean the vents for the fireplace and when I come back home after long day of work I see the fireplace all over the living room with ash everywhere. When asking the manager I was treated like it was my fault and got told to wait in line and wait till next day. How can someone stay in place full with ashes everywhere. I had to do it on my cost and lost some items that was permanently damaged and was never compensated or even told sorry for what they did. Ash was running everywhere and trust me pictures doesn’t show it as it was. They didn’t even come to check the next day on the vents. They keep harassing with emails and when asking what is this they will not reply. They will threaten with fines like I am doing a crime if I put a furniture on the balcony. What is the purpose of a balcony if I can’t put anything on it. Never rent here.
If I could give a 0 star rating I would. Stay away from this place! They will lure you in with their listing price on their website, that changes all the time. After your 12 month lease is up, they will charge you $300+ more per a month for your next lease renewal. Is it worth it? No. There’s mold in the apartments, bugs everywhere, and the management is very rude and unhelpful. Stay away, this is your warning to look elsewhere!!!!!!
They charge extra bs charges after you move out, apartments has major apartments with bugs, and they lied about multiple things during the move in process.
The management is mediocre at best. I've had packages stolen out of their "secure" package room and can't seem to get anything done about it. The property is right under the approach path for the airport, so you better like airplane noise. There is no assigned parking, so on the weekends you get to compete with guests for a place to park at the place you pay rent at. There is little to no accountability for tenants that don't follow the rules. The new management is renovating, so expect the rent to go up.
This apartment complex is good only for dogs. Management more respectful for dogs than for humans. Laundry is often broken. Very old kitchen stuff (fridge, stove, cabinets), old and often broken bathroom supplies. Residents do not watch over their dogs. And you will see their dogs right at your windows. Managements of the complex is doing nothing to resolve this issue.
We have been with Foxboro Apartments for 2 years (2017-2018). We had a bad experience with the previous apartment we rented from an owner, so we decided to choose apartments with a managing company. We choose Foxboro. It has a great location: O'Hare, Botanic garden, Northbrook Metra, Wheeling Metra, Palatine Metra, shops and malls all within 15 minutes drive reach. We had some problems during the period of out stay at Foxboro's. The water heater started leaking. We called the office and the whole boiler was replaced the same day. We had a crack in the wall, so when the spring had come, it started leaking, the management handled it very well it was fixed in a couple of days. We had some mold in the corner of the room. It was fixed quickly by Foxboro. The rent price was reasonable with about $35 yearly increment. The winter of 2017 was cold and our electric bills were as high as $150 per month. In the summer it's about $40..50. Lori, Sudi and Judi (from the office) and the maintenance team were helping us along the way. They have always been very polite, reasonable and professional. The people living in the complex are friendly and nice. There are two volleyball nets and often lots of people playing to keep you a company, and a tennis court is a plus. They have just remodeled the swimming pool. So Foxboro is good place to live with a very convenient location, reasonable competitive prices, responsible management and nice people, and it's a safe neighborhood.
Former resident who would NOT recommend this place! I hope this review will help another potential victim to avoid this nasty, unethical management. First, the apartments are right by major road and an airport which is very noisy. Forced AC is very loud, impossible to watch TV while it's running. Heating system in winter took hours to heat my 1 bedroom to 70 degrees and heating bill was sky high. Word of it all is the management, especially the manager named Susan. I'm very clean person, who never cooked in the apartment and left the place is I've received upon moving out. I waited for the management to mail my security deposit confidently but they not only didn't return my deposit, they sent me a BILL! The charged included cleaning, deodorizing (I don't know what), fireplace cleaning and separate charge to "clean" the countertops. When I called office about this, they were very rude, didn't care what I had to say at all and manager Susan was sarcastic. I overheard them laughing in the background while Susan was on the phone with me. After listing all my concerns regarding this bill, all Susan kept saying to me was "I don't think so!" Of course, when you first move in, they pretend to be nice but when moving out, forget about getting any of your money back and be prepare to receive a large bill at your new address. You will receive the same nasty, sarcastic response should you raise any issue with this also. Avoid this place at all possible, there are plenty of comparable apartments near by with decent humans running the place.
Property Manager at Foxboro Apartments, Responded To This Review
Our team is truly concerned by this negative representation of our community as the experience you describe certainly does not meet the level of service we strive to offer. Regarding the move out fees, we try our best to be as transparent as possible. All required cleaning information was in your lease and we have photos on which to base the cleaning fees. However the final costs are based on a evaluation of the work necessary to prepare the apartment for the next resident. If you still feel as though you were unjustly charge, please feel free to give us a call and we will be happy to discuss it in further detail.
Apartments are Iver priced for what you get. Was able to get another apartment in the same area for $200 more with in unit laundry, a 2nd bedroom, and a garage. The charges for when you move are are astronomical and and it's almost impossible to get your security deposit back. They are not accommodating at all.
Good: apartments are good and well maintained for the cost that we pay good parking space Bad: plane sound doors are not well fitted and in winter will face too much cold sublease is not available and lease breakage is time and cost is more. no fed lights to play, only need to depend on sunlight only outdoor games, no space for ping pong and snooker . suggestion: allow people to sublease or decrease lease breakage term.
Ugh! Airplanes fly over day and night. I am in a 1 bedroom UNUPDATED unit that was dirty when I moved in. I had repeated ant problems. My front door has an open gap on the bottom, with old corroded seal that doesn't seem to be effective anymore. My tiling was stained when I moved in and it won't clean off. Of course I have made the office aware of everthing I listed above, and their response was not much, and nothing got done to fix it. You don't get to see the unit until you pick up the keys when the lease starts. Oh, and the built in microwave barely works. The moral of this story is I chose not to continue here, because they would rather invest your money spent on the outside rather than the inside. It's cheap to live here, and that's what you receive back-cheap!
I LOVE my foxboro apartment. I live in a one bedroom with my boyfriend and we absolutely love it. It's about 750 square feet, which sounded small when we moved in, but it's so much more spacious than you would imagine. For example, in the living room, we have a sectional couch, a la-z-boy recliner, a side table and two ottomans and it's still plenty large. And in the bedroom we have a large armoire, 2 side tables and a king sized bed and this all fits comfortably without feeling cramped as well. Another major perk was that the walls are insulted VERY well. Our heat bill in the dead of winter was only like $60 and the a/c in the height of summer was like $65. Plus we NEVER heard our neighbors, the walls are practically sound-proofed. The extra large deck is wonderful and the floor to ceiling windows really bring in some beautiful natural light. We only used the antique fire place a couple times this year, but it's just another bonus, we get tons of compliments. Also, the kitchen is outstanding. The appliances are brand new and beautiful and the extra long breakfast bar is PERFECT for when we are making a ton of food for parties/holidays, etc. I was able to fit SIX bar stools (3 on either side), so it offers a ton of extra seating as well. The grounds are very pretty and with each season they landscaped a little differently (they planted tulips when spring came - it was very cute). The maintenance staff is great, we didn't really have any issues, just some clogged drains and a lock that was a little hard to get into, but both times we called, they came by within 24 hours and fixed it - we were very impressed. And finally, the office staff is wonderful. About once a month, they would wait at the exit of the complex and hand out free breakfast, they're always smiley and very cheery and they hold fun little events with free ice cream/pizza/burgers, etc. Just very involved - it definitely felt family-owned. We will especially miss Lori, she was so so sweet! Long story short, if we weren't moving to Arizona next month, we would most definitely be signing another year here - it's the best apartment we've lived at thus far.
The apartments are well maintain, staff is friendly, they do free coffee and snacks from time to time, and in general the people that live here are OK. The down sides are as fallows: 1. Washer and Dryer are NOT part of the apartment (and can get pricey in quarters). 2. No Free ONLINE payments, that's a big bummer for young professionals. 3. Site could use some work, it does not work well on mobile devices. Overall, great apartments for their prices.
Liked everything about living here. Maintenance staff is great. Office staff will arrange small events time to time to make residents happy, love that concept.
The office staff is great. The complex has a lot of events that they host, like free picnics in the summer also they sometimes offer free breakfast goodies on the way out the complex. They are quick to responed to any complaint and fix the situation.
I have been living here for the last 2.5 years. I am in a 1 BR unit which is 750 SF. I think it's adequate space for 1 or 2 people. The bathroom is pretty big--bigger than the 2BR bathroom. It's a galley kitchen but a bit bigger than normal galleys, so it's adequate for someone who likes to cook. Maintenance issues are taken care of within 48 hours. Staff is always friendly. They have fun activities such as free cookouts provided by staff, ice cream socials, girls' night potluck, etc. Pretty quiet. Occasionally someone will have a party on the weekend and it might be a tad loud, but this is few and far between. Plenty of washers and dryers. When my micro went on the fritz, they installed a new one because the heating element took too long to get. At Christmas time they provide free gift wrapping supplies at the office to do your gift wrapping. A little pricey for a 1BR, but with the spacious parking, friendly staff, pkg retrieval at the office, prompt maintenance, quiet complex, good location and most utilities included it's worth it.
