Property Ratings at Foxchase Brandywine
Those ladies in that office will lie & give misinformation that you’ll have to pay for later. Will tell you one thing in person one day but another thing the next. GET EVERYTHING FROM THEM IN WRITING OR THEY WILL MAKE YOU PAY, literally.

Literally everything from the time I moved in has been awful. So glad to have gotten out! Promised hardwood floors because we have a dog and didnt want to pay for carpet damage, well we moved in and had carpet everywhere. When we asked if we could get a different house they told us to deal with it. A few maintenance issues still havent been addressed since I placed the issue months ago. The people in the office are rude and blame everything on eachother and never take responsibility for their actions. 100% dont waste your time

Hello, while we welcome all feedback, we are disappointed by this characterization of our community. Please be assured that we strive to provide professional and courteous service at all times. We apologize for any inconvenience you may have experienced. Best wishes to you in your new home!
Moved in Jan. 2017 into a one bedroom on the first floor. Rent was around $750 and seemed fair how small and dated the apartment was. Had many problems with the central air unit during both winter and summer months and the turn around time to fix the problems took around a couple days. The apartment above us leaked water multiple times onto our ceiling in the bathroom, kitchen, hallway, and dining area. The floor above us was horrible! The floor creeked so loudly and we heard every step the people above us made. What made it worst was they had big pets on top of being up all times of the night. The walls were thin and could hear people conversation on both sides of us. The parking lot was a joke. Lines were faded so residents parked inconsiderate to one another. Visitors never used the visitors parking space across the street which made the people who lived there park on a different street all together. The lack of residential awareness was sad. Saw at less 2 different families living in a one bedroom apartment (know the rental office didn't allow that) for about 2 months. Since it was pet friendly, it was dog poop everywhere. We never had a pet but somehow, we got fleas in our apartment and had to get them to call someone the treat our apartment. The cost of living goes up every year but towards the end, what they was asking for in rent wasnt reasonable with the quality of life we was having. The office staff were all awesome and the maintenance crew too, however, paying so much in rent to still have to deal with the dated essentials of living wasn't cutting it.

I moved here because of the awesome rent specials they had - $300 off second month and first month free of charge, who could beat that price?! The apartments are extremely old so every step you take makes a heck of a lot of noise, so if you live on the first floor then you have to deal with hearing constant walking in the apartment upstairs, it creaks badly! The front door was crooked to the point that I had to slam my door to be able to close it correctly so that I could lock it, if not then it would stay open. There were roaches in my kitchen when I moved in and even though I told the office staff to please send pest control, they sent someone who "checked" my apartment (for about only 5 minutes) and they decided that my apartment didn't need to be fumigated because they didn't see any roaches in those 5 minutes they were there. I had to take care of the pest problem myself. When I first moved in, the area seemed nice and quiet. However, after a few months I was receiving letters from the office (3 in total) about cars being broken into. I thought that it wasn't going to happen to me since I never leave anything in my car, well I was wrong! My car was vandalized with a BB Gun!! I had to replace my windshield and the passenger side window because it was completely shattered. They also shot at my tires and dented my car a few times. They chose my car even though it was parked between other cars and parked right in front of my apartment. I am a female leaving alone and I did not feel safe being zeroed in like that. I didn't even last 8 full months there. I had to pay (a lot of money!) to terminate my lease and leave. Just save yourself the trouble and look somewhere else.

Yanelis, Our team is disappointed to hear about your experience at our community. We strive for our residents to feel comfortable in their homes, so we apologize for any inconveniences you encountered. We appreciate your feedback and encourage you to drop by our office to further discuss any concerns or questions you may have.
For the location the price can't be beat. The apartments are old and creaky but it's nothing you can't get used to and certainly doesn't reflect on the management. I have only had positive interactions with management. Efficient and usually pretty quick to get back to me. Maintenance has not been an issue either. There have been a couple of times where they have had to come back a couple of times to fix an issue but really not a big deal. The only complaint I have is that some of the community members are not courteous when it comes to picking up their dog's poop and some of the members will throw eaten chicken wing bones on the ground (which is a danger to my dog), but again that is not a reflection on the property itself or the management. Overall I would recommend moving here if you work out in the west end and are looking for an affordable and decent complex. It is also very safe! In my particular area all of my neighbors are very nice and we all kind of look out for each other and make sure there's nothing going on (which in the 4 months I've been living there there hasn't been anything "going on"). There are some mild lighting issues with some of the security lights meant to light up behind and beside the buildings, but the street lights are almost always in working order. In my particular area there aren't a whole lot of kids but there are kids in surrounding areas. It's a pretty family friendly and diverse population.
When I first moved in they failed to tell me that the key wouldn’t be available at a particular time so I had ppl and moving trucks waiting until the key was ready. Then I found out the stove wasn’t plugged into the outlet and it took about a week for maintenance to come plug it in (the stove had to be moved otherwise I would’ve done it myself). My lease was coming to an end and they called me a few times about renewal. I spoken with a girl and told her I wasn’t interested in renewing she told me ok and that was that. Months later I get a renewal letter with rent that increased over $200 than the previous lease and I can’t get out of it bc the staff failed to let me know a written statement was required. And don’t bother confronting anyone about their mistakes they’ll put the blame on any and everything else. The word “they” shouldn’t be used in customer service. When you’re hired to work for a company it becomes “we”. They have no accountability. Also walls are thin af. I hear my neighbor snoring every single night. Maintence takes forever and a day and they will lose your key so you inconveniently have to be home if they are “fixing” something. They fix things with paint btw. The bathroom tiles are horrid but nothing a fresh coat of paint can’t fix. (Sarcasm). I can say the deposit is low!
I fist moved into this community about 6 years ago, I was in the hunters ridge apartments and then moved to a townhouse in foxchase. Whenever I have a maintenance issue it is promptly resolved and the grounds are kept very well. The pool is pristine and well maintained. Dzenita one of the staff members is always polite and often asks about my daughter. Kudos to G.S.C for maintaining such a fine community and proffesional staff.
After reading through some of the comments, I chuckled to myself. Yes, you can hear the neighbor on occasions, but its not a constant as one reader stated. Yes, the kids do run around the property but they're kids and truly veryone encroach on everyone's backyard area. However, people forget that this isn't abnormal...we live in a apartment complex. I too had to find an apartment quickly as I took a job in the Richmond area. This was again a new experience as I haven't lived in an apartment for over 24yrs. Sold my house and lived here for almost 2yrs. The location is fantastic and Foxchase is a great place. However, whatever needs or concerns I addressed to the staff, they were prompt to react and find resolution. Whether it be a severe issue such as replacing my HVAC in my apartment or simple courtesy of assigning parking passes. Jennifer and Dzenita have never waivered in thier professional demeanor. I applaud their Phenomenal customer service as I know daily interactions with different personalities can be stressful. To the new staff member Lesley, you have the best mentors and I know you'll be just as good.
Rude office staff and horrible maintenance. Apartments need a total remodel and bug infestation is a huge problem. Don't fall for their sales pitch because it is great location. They have no idea of customer service and only want full occupancy. They suck you in with low low price and after one year they raise your rent. Horrible complex
Great place to stay. Great management and staff. The location is near to Short pump and Interstate.
Its a cool and friendly place.Quiet and serene. Great Staff and maintantence.
Don't live here. Period. I live in a one bedroom townhouse. There is someone above me and one person on each side of me. I can hear the people perfectly up and diagonal from me. I thought I wouldn't have to deal with kids since I am living in a row of units that are one bedroom... NOPE. Screaming toddlers! They also do not plow the parking lots nor the sidewalks. When I moved in, the were two giant rips in the carpet, no hot water, the dryer didn't work, & the dishwasher didn't work. The fitness center is a joke. Four machines and one of them is broke. And good luck getting a key for the fitness center. Took me three weeks and two different keys!! My apartment is newly renovated...ish. The water has two settings freezing cold or surface of the sun hot. The HVAC is the same way. Oh, and good luck cooking in the kitchen with your gas range and HVAC unit on the same time; It is insanely hot. Well, I have to go put in a ticket for the toilet that stopped working at 1AM and for the front door where you can see daylight coming through the top!
Nestled in an amazing spot that is close to the mall as well as sheltered enough to offer a little privacy, Foxchase is a nice blend. With apartments dating back to the 70s that are renovated and new appliances to go in each I'm satisfied so far with where I'm living. The community is nice and friendly, and on a whole welcoming. The few qualms I have are more aesthetic than anything. The floors aren't exactly spotless due to paint stains and wear and tear, and the buildings themselves are a bit drafty due to their age. Also, the walls are pretty thin so keeping noise down later at night is an absolute must. I've been here for about four months now and I enjoy it a lot, and so does my dog!
My family and I moved here ONLY because we needed to find some where to live quickly. I was disappointed upon entering the apartment before we moved in: old, outdated kitchen and bathrooms, SQUEAKY floors, paper thin walls, dirty tiles and old, drafty windows! Before bringing our furniture in we fogged and sprayed for bugs and returned to find LOTS of bugs including roaches and spiders scattered across the apartment. Our neighbors are disgusting and noisy along with all of the children in this neighborhood who obviously have not been taught to have respect for other peoples' property! My only advice is to consider your options, these apartments/townhomes are not worth $880+/month, you could find way better in this area!
Cheap construction, paper thin walls, rude office staff leaky windows and doors, and careless maintenance people is all I can say about Fox Chase. The only good thing about this complex is its location. If you want to be able to hear your neighbors going to the bathroom, this is the place for you. Save yourself a lot of agony-do NOT rent one of these apartments.
