The city of Alvin is a suburban community located about thirty miles south of Downtown Houston and thirty miles northwest of Galveston. The unique central location allows residents to easily access to nearby urban amenities as well as the beaches of the Gulf of Mexico, each just a few minutes’ drive away. Alvin holds a distinct place in baseball history as the longtime home of legendary pitcher Nolan Ryan, and a local museum is dedicated to the Hall of Famer.
Primarily a residential suburb, Alvin’s shopping and dining options are spread out across the community, with locally-owned favorites like Caboose BBQ and Alvin Seafood and Grill within walking distance for many. Alvin Community College on the south side serves around 5,000 students, and employs many locals as faculty and staff members.

Property Ratings at French Quarter Apartments
Do NOT stay here. Management is slow at processing maintenance requests. Electrical outlets were not fixed until one month after moving. The entire property management team do not care and place the blame on the number of service issues on the tenant. Finally had to escalate the matter to the “broker” and the guy named Aaron was smug and did not seem to have any interest in the issues being addressed. A gas leak issue was brought up and they did the least to check it. When I told him, he made it out like I was lying about it and was just being a nussaince. Finally had Centerpoint Energy come out and discovered there was in fact a gas leak. I installed a security camera in the apartment and caught the maintenance doing NOTHING to really see to any issue. If you move here, make sure you have everything documented. The broker Aaron straight up told us that we weren’t important and that there were other apartments that needed to be managed. It has been a nightmare. Do yourself a favor and don’t be lured by the price like I was.

The new owners are lowering rent and income requirements to fill the multitude of vacant apartments and it is causing this place to turn into a slum, it's awful, this place is infested with roaches, they cannot keep a maintenance guy, requests for repair do not get fixed, and if they do its months later. This place is terrible, cannot wait until my lease is up to get away from this slum.

I have lived at this apartment complex for almost two years and I love it. The apartment complex is older but that means that the rooms are bigger, since I have a lot of stuff that was important for me. I like the location, easy access to hwy 35 to get where I want to go. The management is friendly , maintenance staff very courteous; very personable people. Any issues I have had, have been handled quickly and to my satisfaction.
