Property Ratings at Gables CityWalk
I love my apt it’s super cozy and I don’t have to worry about any issues with leaks or bug infestations which is super nice My cat loves the apt too
Great area! It is a quiet neighborhood and walkable. The property needs some updates/better maintenance. The units also need work and upgrades.
These apartments are in the best location. There aren’t many walkable neighborhoods in Houston but this is one of them. It’s close to so many restaurants and bars on westheimer and just a quick drive to Washington, Memorial Park, the Heights, etc.
I’ve had a great experience living at Gables CityWalk. The apartments are well maintained, if a bit out dated. The property is kept up really well and the maintenance staff is great. The people in the leasing office, specifically the property manager Alexandria, are friendly and respond to issues promptly.
6 months living here so far, peaceful and pleasant. Pools are tended to and property is kept clean. Our two bedroom is spacious and maintained.
I have been living here for 5 years and love it! The property is well maintained and the staff is fantastic. The community is very friendly and respectful of each other. If there are ever any maintenance issues they are taken care of in a timely manner. For the location the rent price is very good.
I've been a resident for 7 years and love living here. Great community, very clean, very few issues. Lighting throughout the complex could be better and trash areas could be kept up a bit more but besides this all is good.
Although we have just moved in, I can say we are really impressed, so far. Our neighbors have been more than friendly and we are conveniently located to our workplaces. The interiors are well maintained and I am super excited that we made this move. We are very happy with the loft style apartment and the attentiveness of the staff at the office
I have loved living here the past four years- first with a roommate and now in my own place. The rents are reasonable and the value is unmatched. Great location, great neighborhood, access to transit, groceries, and dining… As a single woman, I feel very safe here, which isn’t a given everywhere. The staff is awesome and actually care about the residents. The floor plans give a lot of storage and space, plus it feels really home-like and unique rather than cookie cutter or hotel like. Highly recommend!
Office staff and maintenance are great. The buildings and units can use upgrades. There needs to be more maintenance done to keep the grounds clean.
I really love the location and feel of this community. The support from the staff is really nice and the maintenance happens really fast after putting in a request. The area is really safe and within walking distance to Trader Joes, CVS, a bar, and some other stuff too which is really nice. The staff really seems to care about the residents which is great. Only complaint I have is that the maintenance crew can just let themselves in whether I am home or not, and without any notice. I wish they would just let me know ahead of time so I don't feel scared that someone unknown was in my home.
Overall I have really enjoyed my time here. It’s quiet, peaceful, and there is always something to do nearby. The office staff are prompt and kind!
We love the area of town Gables is located in, it’s so close to multiple restaurants, coffee shops and most importantly Trader Joe’s. Would recommend this for anyone working in the medical center or downtown
We love the gables community! The apartments and community spaces are cozy and comfortable. The only thing I currently would love to see improvement in is some updates for the gym amenities and in the apartments.
Living at Gables has been a fantastic experience so far. It feels safe to walk around at nighttime, the staff is very helpful and people seems welcoming as well.
I've really enjoyed living here the past 3 months. We've had little to no issues. Complex is quiet and taken care of. Office staff is prompt and kind.
This is nice, quiet neighborhood. The new manager, Ms. Alexandria, is good. She is really paying attention, like, fixed the issues with Fetch, installed camera, organizing small events etc. I removed one point, because the maintenance folks are understaffed. Hence, delay in maintenance work.
Great location! Trader Joe's and Whole Foods are within walking distance. Excellent maintenance staff. Nice head office staff. Decent grounds.
The moving experience has been great and the staff are really nice! The rooms are descent and I like the services that they provide for their residents!
We moved in on July 1st and it has been great so far! O love the atmosphere here! ?? The staff here is amazing! The unit itself is phenomenal.
This place has gone way downhill, and I think previous tenants feel the same, given how much activity there is (people moving out or in) plus the empty apartments. It's not terrible, but this place is charging the same rent as other places that are more updated (eg don't have popcorn ceilings and white cabinets), and have way more amenities (like an Amazon locker or a gym that isn't a closet.)
The community and location are nice, floorplans are basic but are perfectly fine that way. My apartment has had water damage, new washer and dryers installed, none of the vents were clean when I moved in, and even though a security system is installed it doesn't work. That being said the maintenance team here is fantastic and super nice which makes up for a lot of the issues I've run into. This place also has a severe lack of parking and the only visitor spots are on the opposite end of the property from the main office. The "gym" is so small it's hard to call it a gym in the first place, but it does have just enough to get a light workout in. As far as I can tell the gym is open 24 hours a day which I really like. I don't think this place is worth the amount I pay each month, but I also don't feel like I'm being ripped off as hard as I could be by other places. It's a very mid-tier location in my opinion, but that's what I was looking for when I moved here.
The apartment complex is nice. Overall the units are small for the price. Gate is down often so cars are broken into and office staff does nothing about it
We’ve lived here for almost 5 years and it’s great. Maintenance is very responsive, our neighbors are quiet and nice, and we are close to everything.
So far, it’s a great place to live. Quiet, friendly and very responsive to requests. Happy so far. The only criticism is that there isn’t a focus on recycling. But that’s a minor criticism.
We love the quiet neighborhood of Gables, it is in a great part of town with lots to do! We have been here in 3 years and never had any problems.
Such a cozy community! Reasonably priced and the best location in Houston. Walkable distance to grocery stores, coffee shops, and restaurants.
Thus far we have enjoyed the apartment and its offerings! Love the views and proximity to stores and shops. Complex is quiet and peaceful and pleasant to look at.
Convenient location, safe and no issues faced. Good for people looking to stay in the middle of the city. Good value for money. Maintenance is responsive and have had my maintenance requests handled promptly.
Decent apartments the best part is how close it is to local bars and restaurants and grocery stores other than that nothing to special about the apartment it self
Not a bad place to live, maintenance is good. Things could be updated a bit on the kitchens but overall, it’s a nice place to live. Would recommend
Great neighborhood with groceries and pharmacy in a walking distance. The apartments are reasonably good. The gym could be improved. Its too small for the entire community. Response to maintenance have been mixed. Sometimes prompt, sometimes not. Bicycle theft is common if you leave your bicycle outside your apartment. The management is very indifferent regarding theft(s). They charge a compulsory fee for valet trash and fetch delivery services. I personally despise both and find them useless. I treat them as a part of my rent for the peace of my mind but for someone who would find this useful, its a good deal.
Great Location, Fair Rent, Good Apartments, Awesome People! I have lived here for four years and absolutely love it. The staff are responsive and really care about the residents. Respectful and friendly neighbors, too, for the most part—some have become good friends. My favorite part of living here is that the apartments feel like homes or condos rather than a hotel, so you really feel at home and within greenery but are still in the city. The paths are nice, too, and it’s great having walkable amenities within the gates. Outside the gates, Upper Kirby is a great neighborhood—lots of great grocery stores, dining, and shops within walking distance. Levy Park is less than a mile away. We are super close to several bus lines, too. I highly recommend this community and cannot say enough good things about this place. If you’re lucky enough to get an opening, catch it before it’s gone!
Gables Citywalk is the best apartment community I've ever lived in - I've been here 14 years! Despite being along W. Alabama and Shepherd it is very quiet. I definitely get a good night's sleep here. I have recently had my appliances updated and they're very good quality. The location is so convenient. The apartments themselves are basic but they have everything I need at a reasonable rent. I recommend visiting Gables Citywalk if you are ready to move.
It's nice quiet neighborhood. Management is OK, not as good as it used to be 5 years back. Maintenance staff are good, but seems they are understaffed.
Leasing staff and maintenance crew are top-notch professionals, but Gables as a corporation has not been very nice to Waterford Square Apartments in Houston over the last decade as they continue to deteriorate. The landscaping is just dreadful and Gables does nothing about it except charge more for rent.
I love my apartment and you can't beat the location, however the parking lot next door is used as valet parking for the bars across the street and it can get really noisy and the apartments definitely aren't soundproof.
I really enjoy living at The Gables Citywalk. I have been here for a year and a half and it’s a pretty relaxing place to live. The pool is refreshing and the neighbors are friendly.
I've lived here since 2019. I WON'T renew my lease. The good ~great location ~pretty grounds w/ lots of greenery ~no vermin, roaches, etc. ~quiet: Not to be Karen-y, but all the other residents seem "decent" (gainfully employed, grad students, young families, etc) The bad ~theft: My bike was stolen, as was my boyfriend's Christmas gift for me; he had stored it in the "secure" garage we pay extra for. The front office won't accept packages; you're supposed to use Fetch, which the lifestyle fee pays for, and you can't opt out. You have to pay for a middleman or risk porch pirates. ~The gym: a tiny room w/ a couple treadmills, a bike, and some hand weights ~ Despite "green" certification, there's nothing to benefit the resident (ex- double-paned windows, energy-efficient appliances, good insulation.) My utilities are about $150 for a 1br apartment.
Great Neighborhood. Feels safe and everything is kept very clean. Maintenance team is quick. The office staff is friendly. Theres always plenty of parking.
Real nice complex. Well maintained complex with an amazing maintenance crew. Super inclusive staff! We’ve felt like family from the very beginning.
This is a great place to live! Rent is too high for us to stay but we've loved our time here. We've never had any issue with management or neighbors.
There is a lack of upgrades inside of the apartments. Front gate rarely works. Very rusted staircases that feel loose when you step on them. The landscape is horrible- there is no flowers or any actual nice green area. There should be a dog run. And the gym is very antiquated.
Although old apartments like ours have several disadvantages from oldness, these properties have got mature atmosphere. I like three story buildings on a big land with plentiful plants to enjoy.
Nice place to live. Maintenance is fast. Walkable distance to stores and public transport. Pool and gym are not maintained too often but during summer they keep up with them
The neighborhood is nice and quiet. That staff is amazing. Everything is so well maintained around the grounds from the landscaping to the pools.
The area is very nice, neighbors seem friendly, the staff are helpful it’s got a nice area to walk around very close to stores from this area which is a plus.
Move in was seamless! They answered all my questions and all my maintenance requests were taken care of the next day! Complex is quiet and clean! Gym is small but gets the job done!
Moving in was a breeze. The community is nice, clean, spacious, and I feel at home. My apartment was spotless and well maintained whenever I moved in and I was stunned by the space that we have available!
Pretty good overall, jsut a lot of small annoyances. but nothing big to complain about. try not to live on the first floor, but the location is really spectacular
