Property Ratings at Gaithersburg Station
These apartments look nice until you live here. There are homeless people living in the hallways and common areas because the doors and gates are always broken. We pay extra money to park cars in the garage only to have them broken into or stolen. The package room is a complete disaster and packages get stolen. The apartments are woefully insulated and the energy bills are enormous. There is minimal to no storage space inside the apartments and there is no balcony storage either. And yet with all of this, management is raising the rent 14% this year.
BIGGEST NOTE: They raised my rent about $600 out of nowhere with no notice or explanation. This complex is way too expensive for what you get. Doors to the building are frequently broken. Weed smell is everywhere. The package room gets robbed. Most of the gym equipment was broken (and things were also stolen from here as well). There is nothing to do in the area so be prepared to drive a decent amount for anything good. I fell for the glitz they presented and hated my time there. Only upside was that the neighborhood was relatively quiet. However, my understanding from other reviews on the resident portal was that I was one of the lucky ones in that regard. P.S. They will absolutely charge you to hell with fees after you move out, even if things are in decent condition.
I’ve been here for many years and while i like something’s about the building. I have serious concerns about the doors and gates that are in disrepair and have been for many years. Many doors do not shut properly and some gates won’t let you out …anyone can easily get into this building, there are numerous fire and building code violations here. I’ve documented and taking many videos and photos . I haven’t been happy or satisfied with the response from management.
I would not recommend this complex if you work from home or need a quiet place of residence. I had an ongoing noise issue for over a month that went unresolved until I finally gave up and opted to move out. If blasting music, cursing, and yelling are bothersome to you I would avoid this complex. Additionally- security at the building is horrible. For the last month of living there the garage door was removed but I still paid for parking. The key fob entrances are broken 9 times out of 10 so anyone can get into the building. Package theft is also a major issue. They have an open package room where anyone can enter and take whatever packages they please. Twice I had expensive textbooks stolen from the room. Overall, you could do way better for a similar price point in the area.
If I could give this apartment zero stars I would. I honestly think the management must be deleting reviews because there is no way I’m the only one who had this experience. I (thankfully) lived here for six months, and every minute was met with a new problem. To start the walls are so thin I could hear word for word conversations my neighbors were having at a normal level. This place constantly smells of weed, cigarettes, and trash. Animal pee and poop in the halls and elevator, and ZERO security in the parking garage or even the hallways. Management does absolutely nothing to correct the problems, and more often than not the office is closed. I could truly go on for days, but I’ll just cap it off by saying - two weeks after I moved out I was charged an “early termination fee” because I moved out of my apartment and gave back my key TWELVE HOURS BEFORE THE END OF MY LEASE. Please save yourself the headache and run.
I have been living here for a few weeks and so far so good. The staff is great. They are so friendly and helpful. My only complaint is the person above me walks extremely heavy. My light fixture in my kitchen and dining area shakes all the time. I keep thinking eventually the fixtures might fall off. I do realize this is something management has no control over. The plus is I don't hear my neighbors at all. The train sound is mild.
GS apartments are a nice place to live in Gaithersburg, with a lot of fantastic amenities. I enjoyed the gym the most, really good set-up, modern, spacious, free weights, and well maintained so you don't really need to join a gym. The WiFi always worked and even around the pool in the summer. There is a park across the street on Teachers way, also one across the train tracks on Diamond Ave, where I would take my daughter to the playground. The Train museum is a nice place to visit and they opened up a water fountain play area for the kids right on the corner of Summit and Diamond. The storage units offered in the building are really convenient, have good sizes and worth the price if you need to put away extra stuff. Service requests were always handled promptly, in my experience, the facilities staff are always professional as well as the leasing office staff. The staff also puts on some very nice community events during the year, which are a great way to meet your neighbors and feel like part of the community. The negatives are the noise from the train, although it never kept me up or kept me from sleeping at night. The walls are thin, but to be fair, almost all places built after the 80's seem to have the same thin walls that let you hear your neighbors phone conversations. The fees really add up living there, especially if you have a pet or have two cars. Equity Residential is really good at charging its tenants for everything, parking is not free if you park in the large 4 level parking garage, which always has ample parking (another positive though). Also, Equity will give you a nice 7% minimum rent increase once your lease is up, but again so will anyone else these days. Lived there for 2 years and would recommend it if you plan to live in the area.
Jasmine was really helpful even though sometimes I felt I was asking a lot she always willing to help and go above and beyond. Unfortunately I had to cancel my move in plans due to a new job opportunity. The place was amazing, nice, clean. The amenities were amazing. Really sad that I didn't get to move but the fact that they were able to accommodate my changes was really amazing. Would recommend 100%
My cars rims got STOLEN last night on the third level of the "secure" parking structure. My car was left on bricks. So basically I paid to park in an unsafe place to get my rims stolen. No cameras at entrance. Just terrible. I have lived here 3 weeks maybe. Please message me for pictures if you want as it won't upload on this post. This place does not feel safe and I don't feel comfortable having to park here anymore. Gaithersburg station apartments made an incident report but no one has even reached out yet. Absolutely terrible. Once again this place is not as safe as they try to tell you.
I'm a New York native that somehow found himself in Gaithersburg, MD. When looking for a place to live nothing could compare to the amenities and location of Gaithersburg Station. Beautiful modern feel with upgraded finishes. Dollar for dollar best rates in town per sqft.
I love where I live! It is clean, new, and beautiful! I am proud to bring guests over and to call my apartment home.
Great staff, very friendly and willing to assist with anything. Nice area with many convinces. Awesome upgrades! Luxury at an affordable price!
This is the best place to live in Gaithersburg. I am going into my 3rd year living in this luxury community. If you want to feel like you have traveled to a tropical 5 star resort, then you are spending time at our resort style pool. My friends always want me to have gatherings at my place, as they say " It is so beautiful here." The facilities are top notch, from the theater room, click cafe, quite rooms, outdoor grill area, gym, and flower garden Gaithersburg Station is a great place to live. Then to top it off the community staff are professional, friendly and helpful. Oh I almost forgot, just steps away from the city hall that offers a ton of Free activities from concerts in the park, zumba and yoga. Plus a corner brewer and the corner pub for great drinks and food. I love it here! Make an appointment to visit and sign a lease.
I'm currently renting a 1 bedroom 1 bathroom 815 sq. foot apartment that overlooks the swimming pool and cabana. The kitchen has stainless appliances, granite counter-tops, a microwave and is very spacious. The dining space and living room have triple crowning around all the edges and a door out to the balcony that can fit 4 to 5 people comfortably. The bedroom is kind of small due to the fact that it is a corner apartment and more space was given to the living room then the bedroom. However, all my furniture fit, which is amazing because I have a full bedroom set, and a walking closet that can hold most if not all my things. Overall, my apartment is very nice and I don't have any issues whatsoever. However, I would like the rent to be cheaper but it is Montgomery County so you better find a roommate if you want cheap rent.
Currently living in Gaithersburg Station for one year. Any issues that I have requested, maintenance has responded within 24 hours. The facility is kept cleaned, if there are any issues its usually because of other renters, not the people that work for Gaithersburg Station. The office has been nothing but pleasant since we started living there. The workout room is nice and a decent size, and the pool area is great. No complaints with this apartment!
