This includes added security (that is actually there at night), additional cameras, updates to the gym, and fun community events! Maintenance even came back and checked in with me the next day. Great place to live, great community, and great location! Recently, the management company changed so we’re seeing how this will work out. Aside from the unexpected towing a that happened a couple months ago in the parking garage, they have increased security which is pretty big compared to the prior management team. Walls are a little thin, smaller pool than most complexes (but a pool nonetheless), and new management, but the pros far outweigh the cons with nice apartments, nice amenities, and perfect location if you want to be downtown but not quite downtown. Fairly priced in my opinion too.

I absolutely LOVE living at the Gallerie! It is so close to crown center, I am walking distance away from work (it’s such a blessing considering I don’t drive and it makes for a very relaxing commute home.) and the amenities are amazing! I am an artist in multiple facets, and the makers space in one of my happiest havens to to let my creative soul soar!! I also enjoy the fun events that are planned by the Gallerie that give me a good excuse (and opportunity) to meet new people and have some fun while staying at home! I couldn’t ask for a better apartment to help me live my happiest life!!

The apartment community is getting better now but my experience with actually getting my lease and getting everything set up was extremely difficult - it may have been due to management changes however the responsiveness was very poor. Very difficult to contact the front desk both via email and phone, eventually was able to get in though and it worked out.

Overall, I enjoy living here. I can always find parking in the garage, the apartment is beautiful, and I love the amazon lockers. There have been a few problems, though. When I moved in, the patio door was broken and did not open, every towel/toilet paper holder fell off the wall, the showers did not drain well, and the bathroom vents were disgusting and covered in dust. Maintenance fixed these problems pretty fast but it was frustrating to have so many things needing fixed. Several people have reported packages being stolen from the parcel room. A couple safety concerns- some exterior doors do not shut all the way without pulling/pushing hard on them, which prevents them from locking. Several gates also do not lock. We have had an elevator broken for about 2 weeks. The elevators are down for a few hours somewhat frequently. The door to my apartment has also been very difficult to unlock. It just seems like things are breaking often for how much we are paying to live here.

I have lived here for about 5-6 years now and this apartment has been everything I needed to live a comfortable life in downtown thus far and with its location, I have never dealt with traffic leaving for work outside of the city in the morning or afternoon.

The previous apartment management group was easily the worst apartment group I’ve ever dealt with in my life. Completely unresponsive and did not care about the lack of security. The new management group seems to be better in responsiveness and attempting to make this complex more secure. They also seem more open for a suggestions on how to make things better whereas the past management group did not care. That’s another reason why we had so many break-ins in the garage area. I’m hopeful for this new management group.

There are some nice amenities here. I love the makers room, it’s basically an unfinished room with big garage doors that open. It’s intended for people who need a large space to make art, build something, etc. it’s a room where it’s okay to make a big mess.

So far, so good. There has been a couple of mishaps such as breaking into several cars few months ago as the garage door was broken for months and the issue of not so smooth transition to a new management but seeing how they handle things now at the reception, I do have high hopes. Hopefully, the management rewards people who have referred new residents. I had 2! Neighborhood is not too bad. It is very close to everything we need. Security has people patrolling in front of the garage entrance hopefully to deter possible breaking ins again. There are few access box which are broken and doors are always propped open. Noise is manageable. My upstairs neighbor running around and steps are audible. Amenities are acceptable. The gym could be better with adding more equipment. An indoor pool could have been more enjoyable. Several packages have been lost right after the transition to new management. Be more diligent in sorting the packages into the Amazon hub as soon as they arrive.

I lived here for 2 years in a 1 bedroom+den and initally really loved it because the building was brand new with nice amenities. However, the longer I stayed, the apartment quickly went downhill. There were SO many car breakins in the car garage-almost daily where multiple car windows were being smashed and it was STRESSFUL guessing if my car was going to be next every morning when I was heading to work. The management didn't do anything about it except send out emails to lock the doors. The hallways were littered with dog poop, and the residents are NOT considerate of their neighbors and the people living above me had a dog that was barking and constantly running around 24/7 and management wouldn't do anything about it. There are many other nice apartment around KC within this price point and similar amenities that are safer, with better management and I wouldn't recommend living here.
Just a month ago I was leaving a review and here I am again! Within less then 2 months of me living here, my catalytic converter has been stolen twice (and that’s with my car being in the shop for a month from when it was stolen the first time) so truly within 3 weeks it was stolen twice! I was told that installing cameras in all the floors will not lower crime. It’s becoming expensive to live here now that I’m having to pay $1,000 every time my catalytic converter gets stolen and they are doing absolutely nothing about it! If this happened twice in three weeks can you imagine how many times it will happen during my 18 month lease?! Will they be paying for my catalytic converter? At this point I would be okay with them just letting me move out so I don’t have to be dealing with this on a monthly basis. Unless you have an extra $1,000 a month to be repairing your vehicle, find somewhere else!
The door key fob locks have been broken for the last 6 months. You have to walk around to get into your building or jump the fence. They finally replaced the lights in the stairwells, but that took 6 months as well. Very unsafe. Hallway carpets are never cleaned. The apartments are fine but dealing with the amenities has been such a pain. This place clearly doesn’t value safety, no matter how many maintenance requests you submit.
I have lived here for the past 8mo and honestly regret moving here. The apartment complex feels like a college dorm. The walls and ceiling are not insulated so you can hear every little footstep from your upstairs neighbors, which sucks when you work night shift and attempt to sleep during the day. If you want any guest you have to walk outside to let them in, there is no call box… super inconvenient. Safety is a huge concern. I don’t feel safe walking in at night. Anyone and everyone has access to the stair well. There have been many occasions the homeless have made themselves at home in the stairwells. The parking garage is a joke. I pay an extra $75 per month and don’t even have a guaranteed parking spot. There have been numerous occasions that there hasn’t been a single spot open in the garage. Long story short… you can find a much nicer complex in a better part of town for the same cost and better amenities.
I have lived in The Gallerie apartments for a few months now. Multiple cars get broken into and keyed WEEKLY. The complex has not done anything to protect their residents property and still charges $75 monthly to use the garage. Anyone can access the garage leaving everything in there vulnerable. The Gallerie has a "security officer" who I have yet to even see. The management team will not give you their contact information if you need something after office hours. Homeless have slept on the property. The key fabs within the property are hit and miss for working, so hope you aren't walking alone at night. I would be nervous to be a young woman living alone here. Safety is not a concern. If you email management, you will get a generic response without your concerns answered
There have been dozens of cars broken into over the past few months. The office is unwilling to take any additional steps in order to make residents feel safe and secure here. I do not recommend living here until these issues are solved. Pretty murals are not a compromise for safety.
Currently living here for 8 months now and Not a fan of this apartment complex. Here are the top reasons why I would NOT recommend living here. 1. No call box for residents to allow guests into the building, and one of the doors to building 1 is unlocked 24/7 which is a security risk. 2. No loading dock for residents moving in. There is no direct path/loading dock in ANY of the 4 buildings which make the move in/move out process extremely complicated and difficult for residents. 3. Non-optional technology package with very low quality internet. You are required to opt-in to a $70+ per month internet service that is constantly experiencing issues and is very slow. 4. Several residents have had their bikes stolen out of the “secure” bike storage located INSIDE the building and management has done nothing to help the situation. 5. Price per square foot of apartments is abysmal, and units have little to no Storage space which often results in the tenant to pay an additional $50 a month for a storage unit. 6. The parking garage is the worst parking garage I’ve ever been in. The parking spaces are not spaced properly and the design is extremely flawed. And the most ridiculous part of the whole thing, RESIDENTS ARENT EVEN TECHNICALLY ALLOWED TO USE IT! On top of that, there are literally 3 empty vacant lots surrounding the building (huge eyesore) that the complex ALSO doesn’t allow residents to use. So unless residents pay $50 a month for the garage, we can choose from about 14 street parking spots for a complex that consists of 5 buildings…… 7. The “security” they keep talking about is non-existent. They keep promising there will be a 24/7 security guard. There’s nothing of the sort. If anything; the setup of the building offers less security as it does inconveniences. 8. The property is NOT within walking distance of ANYTHING. You are a full mile from crown center, 1.4 miles from the streetcars first stop, and even further from everything else. 9. The hallways are always gross. They all need a serious deep carpet clean. It’s not that this property is a SUCH horrible place, it’s that for the insane amount of money they charge you to live here you should get your money’s worth. Oh that reminds me of another “fun” little thing they do here: they quote you a price for your unit but fail to inform you that if you do not respond within 24 hours they reserve the right to hike up that quote by $300+ a month.
