Across the Neponset River from Downtown Boston lies the Quincy neighborhood of Montclair. Commuters drive eight miles north on Interstate 93 to reach downtown, while residents without a car enjoy easy access using several bus lines or the Red Line's North Quincy subway station. This quiet residential community of apartments and bungalow-style houses provides a small-town atmosphere within a larger urban environment.
There’s a diverse mix of cuisine that belies Montclair’s relatively small size. Most of Montclair's businesses are found along Hancock Street near North Quincy station. Residents gather at Assembly Bar on Sundays for comfort food while watching the New England Patriots.

Property Ratings at Gamma North Quincy
Living in Gamma North had a profound impact on me. I dealt with persistent issues like mice infestations and an awful, lingering smell. Additionally, I was constantly fearful of people trying to break into my apartment or steal my car from the parking lot. Eventually, I decided that no amount of money was worth enduring such a situation. I ended up paying a two-month rent termination fee and moved out early.

Pros: The location is convenient, within walking distance to the subway station and grocery stores. Additionally, the apartments are quiet; either my neighbors were considerate, or the sound insulation is effective. And for these, they get the one star. Cons: Where do I begin? The building itself is old and rundown. It appears that some units may be in worse condition than others in terms of appliances, but overall, maintenance seems lacking. One issue is the high level of lead in the water, making it unsafe for use. Mold is also a serious problem, particularly for those with allergies. Additionally, residents should be prepared to deal with various bugs and rodents, especially on lower floors. While I live on the upper floors and haven't encountered mice inside my apartment, I've spotted them in communal areas like the recycle room and entrance. I've even found dead mice in the laundry room and in front of the entrance. So I guess this is a serious issue for people on the lower floors but also shows how non-hygienic the whole building is. The trash isn't being handled properly, and the ventilation is inadequate, leading to a persistent odor throughout the entire building some of which gets to your own apartment. The laundry room isn't cleaned frequently enough. While tenants may share some responsibility, the limited number of working machines for the numerous units makes it extremely challenging to find an available one for laundry. There are homeless people INSIDE the apartment building asking for changes all the time The worst of all, is this constant awful smell circulating around all the floors and in the whole building. Akelius doesn't conduct inspections or thorough cleanings before new tenants move in. You might find yourself moving into an apartment on the exact same day the previous tenant moves out, with any necessary maintenance left for you to handle and at your expense. For example, if the bathroom needs painting, they'll do it after you've moved in, forcing you to vacate due to the smell of chemicals while paying the rent. This lack of consideration reflects their greediness. There are certainly more negatives to mention, but I'll stop here. Overall, I wouldn't recommend moving here. It's too expensive for what little they offer.

I never do reviews. But I was looking for a place and saw the rating here as 4.8 and I was like, are you freaking joking?! Yes, it is close to the train station. But you know what else is close to the train station? Station itself! If you are looking for a decent apartment worth living, being respected by the landlord and not fighting all the time with mice and swage smell just go somewhere else. I have lived in 4 stated and rented 10 apartments by myself and this by far is the worst place I have ever lived in!

First of all, the management company's leasing and marketing team, Jazmary, Tylor, Ali, are extremely rude and disrespectful. The building is old with a serious lead problem. Tenants were officially notified by the mayor's office. Mice are everywhere. Trash are everywhere. Forget about any maintenance request being done at all, let alone in time. Packages are stolen all the time. And when you move out, they do not return your deposit. If you can, try to avoid this place.

Do yourself a favor. If you dislike living in a dirty, full of trash, full of mice apartment complex, do yourself a favor and look for other places. Akelius only answers you until you get the apartment, after that they disappear and you have to live in a condition that you definitely do not deserve.
