Nestled in the rolling hills of northwestern South Carolina, about 14 miles southeast of Greenville, Simpsonville is a picturesque suburb often cited as one of the best places to live in the state. Simpsonville offers residents an array of housing options in established neighborhoods and brand-new communities, from upscale apartments to historic houses and everything in between.
Simpsonville further balances the modern and the historic with its diverse commercial centers, including national retailers at Fairview Station and unique boutiques in the charming downtown area. Speaking of the downtown area, Main Street is vibrant with rows of historic buildings, alluring storefronts, locally owned restaurants, and an old-fashioned clock tower.
One of Simpsonville’s major attractions is the Heritage Park Amphitheatre, which hosts some of the nation’s most popular musicians, in addition to its many scenic parks like Simpsonville City Park.

Property Ratings at Garden District
My husband and I lived here for a little over 1 1/2 years and absolutely LOVED it. We had the pleasure of having an amazing office lady, Kathy as our neighbor. We also experienced EXCELLENT service from the other staff members including maintenance and the other wonderful office lady Lori! We will miss our time there, as family has caused us to move. There’s no better place than Garden District to call your home in the upstate!

Thank you so much for your glowing review! We're delighted to learn that you and your husband had an amazing experience at Garden District. Kathy, Lori, and the entire team are dedicated to providing excellent service, and it warms our hearts to know they made your stay special. We're sad to see you go but wish you all the best with your family's new journey. Should you ever return to the upstate, you'll always be welcome here. Take care!
As others pointed out, bugs infestations and lack of parking are the big problems. But another glaring issue is the management. My unit's pipes froze and burst on Christmas Eve, and they knew it'd happen and didnt plan for it. They ended up having to vacuum my entire building's rooms AND the water damage ruined my mattress, and other people's belongings. NONE of this was paid for by them and they never even attempted to make reparations DONT live here. Save your money, choose somewhere nicer like Greenville
Excellent Executive Apartment and community to reside. Quiet and safe property, excellent management and maintenance staff. Ms. Thurston and Ms. Rose were always responsive and very helpful. They made my transition to South Carolina a pleasurable experience.
The Staff at this property were so helpful during our transition to South Carolina. They worked with us when we needed to go a few extra days over a holiday weekend.
Your deposit is never coming back, even if you keep and leave your apartment clean. They’ll charge for even a little paint. The administration staff is extremely rude. The apartments are fine but the parking is a huge problem. Petty thefts are common occurrence. You’ll keep listening to the car alarms. Their cameras don’t work, had our bike stolen. Otherwise, all well ;)
I lived there for a year and management was great! Very attentive to the needs of the residents. It was also very close to major highways and the supermarkets were fairly close but still peaceful and quiet. My only complaint was that if I came home late at night I had to walk far to my apartment and the occasional loud neighbor but other than that, I loved my my time living there.
Don’t recommend this property for anyone, there are bugs. The whole place is full of bees, hornets, and snakes when you pay for pest control. There is nowhere to park at your home. People enter your home without permission. The air conditioner units are always going out. I could go in and on.

Their service is getting terrible day by day. Parking is a huge issue. If you come home after 6PM, chances are you will be parking at least 200-300 ft away. The maintenance is not prompt, had my A/C gone out multiple times and they would not be able to fix in time. Your service requests will be ignored.

I moved here 3 years ago from out of state. Not being familiar with the area and no local contacts, I went on an apartment search. I spent 2 weeks looking at apartments in Greenville and Mauldin and was so disappointed that I was ready to give up until my father told me to try Simpsonville. I looked at several communities in Simpsonville. The last community I looked at was Garden District. I wish I had come here first, it would have saved me alot of time and frustration!!! The minute I walked in to the lobby, I knew this was the right place for me!!! Everyone was very nice, answered all my questions and took the time to show me several different apartment styles. The application process was quick and easy. I've lived here for 3 years and loved every minute!! Even my father has chosen Garden District as his retirement home. The apartments are very clean and spacious, with plenty of closet space and modern amenities. The pool is a definite bonus and it's always clean and inviting on a hot summer day! If you're looking for an apartment in the Simpsonville area, look at Garden District first. You won't be disappointed!!
When I first toured this apartment complex, I was so excited to live here. However as soon as I got the keys and opened MY apartment I was so disappointed. The place was dirty, there was shoe prints in the garden tub, the grout in the bathroom was dirty, the kitchen cupboards had food splatter and dirt on them, and the "painters" painted over dirt and hair in the drawers. I complained, and they sent the cleaners back not once but TWICE!!! And still it was dirty, dirt and hair in the corners in the bathroom, and a tile was missing in the bathroom. They called the painters back, but the paint on the cupboards and baseboards are not much better, they're chipped, scraped, and scuffed: I was so excited to live here but I feel ripped off honestly. I called a cleaning service in myself because of how gross it was. Everything they had done to try to improve on it was a half done job at best. I am very disappointed, and will do improvements myself on my place.
My visit at garden view was awesome. My family live there and I plan on moving down here after my first semester at NorthCountry Community College. And My girlfriend and I plan on moving into garden District. I love the clean area, garbage removal, pool and gated entrance. I like the small gated community. It's a central place to live and convenient to an imax theater right next door.
I can't say enough good things about this place. The front office staff are great, very accommodating and helpful. The maintenance crew is top notch! These guys have really gone above and beyond to make our stay here enjoyable, even helping me with some car trouble I was having. The grounds themselves are beautiful, nicely maintained. From my apartment I hear no noise from the highway or the surface streets nearby. The apartment itself is great, everything was bright and clean and in tip top shape upon our move in. I LOVE the fact that it is a gated community and my kids can safely walk on the sidewalks to go play with their friends. I have only had pleasant interactions with my neighbors and other residents of the complex. Safe to say The Garden District will have my business for a long time to come.
