Three small, upper-middle-class neighborhoods, Middletown, Woodland Hills and Douglass Hills, and Anchorage, an upper-class community, make up the Outer East End of Louisville. Each community features a mixture of newer, more elaborate homes that mingle nicely with some of the historic architecture in the area. However, the homes in Anchorage remain the most elaborate in the area. Wide-open, undeveloped areas provide residents with beautiful scenic views, and nearby access to U.S. Route 60 and interstates 64 and 265 make the 18-mile commute into downtown Louisville simple.

Property Ratings at Garden Gate
I have nothing but nice things to say about Garden Gate! My husband and I lived here for two years. It is very spacious and well kept. Any maintenance issue that we had was fixed within a day or two. I highly recommend Garden Gate!
I have lived in six different apartment complexes and always have had a mixed bag of good and bad to each experience. Garden Gate has been by far the best place I’ve lived and I’ve had no issues living here. The apartments themselves are clean, comfortable, and spacious with amenities you’d have to pay tons more for anywhere else in Louisville. Notably, in-unit washer and dryer hookups (or rentals if you decide to do that) and dishwashers in the kitchens are two things you won’t find in affordable apartments in Louisville. Additionally, the complex has friendly neighbors, a tennis court, a community pool, and a nearby beautiful neighborhood you can comfortably walk through in a variety of loops. Additionally, the apartments are located in a great place in town right across from Southeast Christian Church, within walking distance of a Heine Brothers coffee shop and a couple restaurants, and a short drive (<10 minutes) to pretty much anything Shelbyville road. I’d be remiss if I didn’t mention that the property manager, Donna, and the head maintenance man, Elmis, are extremely kind and friendly people to interact with if you ever need anything. It’s very comforting to know you’ve got such great people to reach out to with any issues. Also, something very cool they do is drawings every month for discounted rent to those that pay their rent on time and early. I would highly recommend these apartments to anyone looking to live in Louisville. If you’re thinking about it, definitely reach out sooner rather than later, you never know, you might get lucky and get an apartment that looks out into some beautiful forest that backs up to the apartments on one side of the property! One of my favorite things about my unit.

My mother moved here two years ago from AZ and found Garden Gate to be a very friendly and welcoming community. The Staff has been extremely helpful and the proximity to shopping and restaurants easy to get to. The manager went out of her way to make sure we felt comfortable having my mother live there. If you are looking for an affordable well maintained location to live give Garden Gate a look.
Me and my wife lived here 2+ years after we got married. Had a baby next door and couldn’t even hear it so the walls must be pretty soundproof. Unusually quite and calm for an apartment. Great location and good facilities, but it was the upstanding property manager and maintenance manager that made living there so smooth and easy. Eventually we bought our first house but if we were looking for an apartment to move into right now we’d go right back to Garden Gate.
I have spent the past year at Garden Gate Apartments and appreciate the security and comfort of living in a well maintained facility. It is a convenient location within an established neighborhood. Property manager, Donna H, is always responsive and shows care and concern for the tenants. Made the right decision. Steve W
I absolutely love Garden Gate Apartments! I feel at home here. The community has lots to offer & I feel very safe living here. The apartments are spacious, quiet & my neighbors are so friendly! The management holds special events that are s lot of fun! They do a wonderful job making you comfortable. If there’s ever anything that needs attention, they’re on it right away! I would recommend this community to anyone!!!
Lots of storage space and large bedrooms and ice maker,disposal and dishwasher. Large utility closet and walk-in closet in spare bedroom. Spacious patio with storage closet and well lit breezeway. Nice neutral carpet and linoleum in bathrooms.kitchen and entrance way. Nice amount of cabinets and pantry in kitchen with large refrigerator and self-cleaning oven.
