Property Ratings at Gardens at Cherry Creek
I've been fortunate enough to live all over the U.S., and Gardens at Cherry Creek is the *worst* apartment I have stayed at. They get away with charging an arm and a leg due to their location, which is also surrounded by truly luxury apartments -- but it's nowhere near appropriate for this complex to ride the coattails of other developments. The buildings are old, the floors are very cheap vinyl, and the walls are desperate for new paint. During my year-long lease, the pool wasn't usable, and the gym had 80% of it's equipment broken for nearly 5 months. To my surprise my unit wasn't cleaned before I moved in, and the blinds were broken from day 1, which I also documented in my move-in paperwork. They never offered to remedy the situation or reimburse me to hire someone to clean. I submitted several maintenance requests over the course of my lease asking to fix the blinds so I didn't have to keep using a rubber band to keep them up or down every day. They force you to enter into their bulk account during lease signing, which states that you will receive a "tech package"; package insinuates more than one, but they will only give you internet. You still have to purchase cable separately. If you were Joe-blow walking into the cable store right now, you would be paying ~$130 TOTAL for a cable/internet bundle, depending on the cable tier. I had moved from out of state, and I was in a rush to get settled. You will find that this is a common story of residents living here; this complex is actively looking for people who are rushing and that will gloss over details that are *really* important -- like noise from units upstairs and beside you, bursting pipes, stolen mail and belongings from the garage, broken and unusable amenities, etc. Even after all of that, and I left the unit better than I got it.....they refused to return my security deposit. Learn from my mistake: don't rush your next move, and don't view an apartment at Gardens at Cherry Creek remotely. Be on site and ask to see the exact floor plan that you will have to avoid surprises.
I moved into this apartment 6 months ago and since I moved in half of the gym equipment has been broken with no promises of repair, the pool and hot tub are broken half the time, the bike locker has been broken into and I had $250 worth of parts stolen off my bike, the garage has been left wide open for months with no sign of additional security, and our storage unit in the garage has been broken into. I would not recommend leasing here.
We’ve lived here for 2 years and it was great until a few months ago. They took 3 months to fix our broken heat. Made us wait until someone from their company flew in from out of town at their convenience instead of bringing in a local vendor. Never acknowledged their mistake. Escalation to regional management means nothing. Major security issues and lots of theft that they don’t tell residents about. Won’t make security improvements despite multiple issues and theft events. Property is dirty and unkept. Will spend rent money on improvements that enhance their LEED certification but not what actually improves the safety of residents. I would highly advise not living at any Connor Group buildings in the Denver area.
Brandi, Santos, Dave and the rest of the team at the Gardens are AWESOME! If you want a turn-key renting experience then come live here. The neighbors are friendly, lots of pet lovers to accommodate your furry companions, and very responsive staff that make living here so great.
TLDR: Beware: trapped in lease with no lease break option, poor maintenance (leaking ceiling, 8 attempts to repair without resolution), extremely poor management, excessive noise with no resolution, ill-treating to their front-line worker tenants, multiple ineffective repair visits in the middle of a pandemic, COVID-19 positive repairman; pool shooting last summer, broken garage door repeatedly (cars at risk), no security, dirty fur covered halls and stairwells I have lived here for over a year and would not recommend this apartment complex to anyone. I am a doctor working long hours in the context of COVID-19. In May, new tenants moved in above me with a puppy who runs back and forth, scratches the floor, and rubs toys against the ground. It sounds like bricks dropping and is incredibly disruptive for hours each day, impacting my sleep, and has caused me terrible migraines. Since the weekend of their move-in, I have been reporting my concerns to management, both Shantell (on-site management) and Jessica (regional). They both told me they would speak with the tenants, provide warnings, inflict fines for repeat offenses. 3 months later and there has been no improvement. Shantell and Jessica do not care and have made it clear that I cannot end my lease. There IS NO LEASE BREAK OPTION, only the option to sublet. Good luck subletting for a full 12 month lease with excessive noise during a pandemic. To be clear, I had signed a lease renewal before the new tenants moved in; my first 12 month lease had not yet ended and I was still within 60 days of the end of my lease when I reported these issues. I asked for them to kindly allow me to end the final ~80 days of my current lease and withdraw my renewal. They refused. I am now TRAPPED here until next July because I cannot sublet with excessive noise in the middle of a pandemic. They are completely devoid of compassion and ill-treating to their front-line workers. My bathroom ceiling has been leaking for the past month. I have reported persistent leaking about 8 times now over that period. Each time, one of 3 repairmen enter my home, in the middle of a pandemic, to attempt to fix the leak. One of the repairmen apologized for how many attempts it was taking, stating that the usual leak guy was out as he was COVID-19 POSITIVE. Tomorrow, a group of 3 men will be trying again.
Love the prime Denver location with easy access to shopping and dining. I really like the sleek and modern look and layout of the apartments not to mention all the amenities!
I recently relocated to Denver and toured dozens of apartments before finding The Gardens at Cherry Creek. I love the unit, very stylish and modern, and the location is amazing. Parking underneath the building and a washer/dryer in unit are such great features!
Our move to The Gardens at Cherry Creek was a smooth transition from Houston. The staff are super friendly and they were very accommodating. Whatever we needed they were on top of it and they made sure to help make our move an easy one.
I just moved in and have nothing but great things to say about the Gardens! The staff is super nice, the amenities are top notch, and the location is prime!
We love living at the Gardens. We moved in a few weeks back and have had a fantastic experience to date. Our move coincided with the sale of our home and Joe was incredibly helpful and flexible working with us on timing. Overall the property is well managed and the management team is super nice and helpful. The building has fantastic amenities...it feels like living in a luxury Kimpton hotel--cool styling, pool, hot tub, fire pits, espresso machine, great gym, yet very kid friendly with a playroom to boot. Love the high walkability of this area.
The Gardens at Cherry Creek has been great! Its in a safe and nice location, and easy to find parking. The front desk staff are so friendly and helpful. They really helped make our move in simple and efficient. My only feedback would be that it needs a bit more cleaning in the elevators and common areas. Otherwise - the building and units overall are great!
Perfect location if you enjoy walking to grab coffee in the morning, grocery’s, a massive mall!, amazing restaurants, and perfect parks to walk your dog! Problems are addressed fast and fixed instantly (if any come up) we have enjoyed our time here at Gardens at Cherry Creek thanks to the amazing staff!
Our family moved here in May 2018. There was a couple of issues with our unit when we first arrived but the management was quick to respond and they addressed the issues right away. The current team - Mason, Joe and Mike are awesome! Very friendly, efficient and helpful. The previous team (Quiana and Brooke) was wonderful too. Keep up the good work!
Moving from out of state was made much easier by the help of Joe and his staff at The Gardens. Cool neighborhood close to everything and a great value. 5 Stars for sure!
I have been living here for less than a year and could say that everything has been great. Mike and his team, who do the maintenance make sure that you get what you need fixed on the same day. The management is very professional and friendly. They almost spoil you. This place is in a safe neighborhood, pet-friendly, has nice amenities, well maintained, and close to everything!
I've lived here for almost 4 years! I love that you are around the corner from King Soopers and Target ... and walking distance to Cherry Creek North - Whole Foods, The Mall, the shops and dining, and of course the trail. The community is kind, the amenities are awesome, and the property is maintained well. The neighborhood is quiet, the views are fabulous, and these apartments make you feel right at HOME.
I love the unique layouts that Gardens has to offer. All of the appliances and amenities are great and the location is perfect. The staff is friendly and Ryan always greets me when I come in!
I would highly recommend the Gardens at Cherry Creek. It’s a great location, has wonderful amenities, and is clean and quiet. Mason and Joe have been a pleasure to work with and they have made the moving in process as easy as possible.
Extremely clean and safe environment walking distance from all multiple grocery stores, Walgreens, Super Target, PetSmart, Wells Fargo, Cherry Creek Mall and more! The building is relatively new (2014), well built, and in great quality. Their amenities are amazing. Multiple places to hold get togethers, awesome gym, rooftop and outdoor hang outs with a doggy playpen in the garage. Highly recommended spot! I have lived here for 2 years and just signed on for a 3rd year. The management is very friendly and always takes care of me. I can rely on them to handle any concerns in a timely fashion. I feel very lucky to live here. It is a very safe neighborhood, which is high priority for me. The building is secure as well. In addition, maintenance staff does a great job. I can't say enough about how great this spot is!
I just moved here a week ago. The building is beautiful and clean, never crowded, very pleasant. Great location. It has many different amenities and spaces to enjoy. Mason at the leasing office was extremely helpful and friendly. He and Joe made the moving process very smooth.
We moved in this past June and I have no plans of moving out! I truly love it here- it’s a smaller community so it’s QUIET and super pet friendly. Our 2 bed 2 bath is really freaking spacious also...and the layouts are really fun and functional. The pool could be better as far as year round use- only thing I’d say bothers either of us. Big new highlight: staff! The staff recently changed and while there is one particular face I miss, Joe and Mason are doing so great. I must say, Mason is incredible- he’s been nothing but helpful, super kind and has helped me almost daily- (helped me figure out I was using the keypad wrong, let in my dog walkers approximately...3 times, helped me figure out my fobs when they got mixed up) seriously, this guy better never leave, he’s my favorite!! Definitely recommend living here, it’s been very relaxed and comfortable.
Prior to my relocation to Denver, I managed apartment communities in Austin and Houston for the previous 15 years. It has hard to impress me, but the Gardens at Cherry Creek did just that. The most important thing to me is the level of customer service a community's team provides. The team at Gardens provides a great experience. They are always friendly and treat the residents like family, not like clients. In addition to the great service I received, the community has recently gone through a renovation and the exterior / interior of the community are looking sharp. Also, it definitely helps that it is one of the nicest neighborhoods in Denver, close to shopping, restaurants and the Cherry Creek mall. Lastly, it's really nice to have such cool views of the Rocky Mountains. During my relocation from Austin to Denver I looked at around 15 communities in this area, and because of the great team, I chose Gardens at Cherry Creek. I'm really glad I did!
I love this beautiful and extremely pet friendly community. They even just put in a dog park. We enjoy taking our dogs on a walk and seeing all the other dogs. There are a lot of trails and recreational activities nearby. I think there have been a lot of improvements with the new management including adding new flooring in the halls. Brooke, Jessica, and Mike make a great team. They're all very helpful and responsive. This is a wonderful, family friendly place to live. The units are very spacious and comfortably laid out. I would recommend the property to families, singles, younger, and older renters.
Nice facilities, definitely improved in the last couple of months with the new ownership. They are taking the time to improve the complex. Brooke was very helpful when it came time to renew our lease, we were on the fence but she helped us out in finding the right unit. Very pet friendly and close to everything.
We have lived here for a year now, and just signed another one-year lease. We really enjoy all of the awesome amenties, especially the gym, coffee bar and game room. The location is excellent. It's a quick bus or uber ride downtown. The new management group is definitely an upgrade. Brooke has been amazing to work with and very responsive. They have undertaken several projects to improve the grounds like landscaping, new flooring in all the hallways, and painting the buildings. We are really excited to stay for another year.
GREAT location, phenomenal amenities, extremely accommodating staff. We have a three year old daughter who LOVES the year round pool and spa area. The common areas downstairs are always impeccably clean and pristine. There is a gourmet coffee machine available 24/7. The gym, also available 24/7 is always clean & is great for a variety of fitness needs including but not limited to, weight lifting, treadmills, rowing machines, yoga room, ropes & a ballet bar. We cannot say enough about the staff! Brooke in the leasing office is extremely friendly, welcoming and helpful in anyway she can be. Mike is extremely responsive and punctual when it comes to maintenance needs throughout the building. We love living here and the community that has formed among the residents thanks to the new management is so warm and loving, anyone would be lucky to join us!
We really like the new management. They are very attentive and kind. Living temporarily for over a year with 2 small children in the Gardens at Cherry Creek has been very convenient and safe. We enjoy the space they apartments offer and the grounds with pool and play area. The community is very welcoming and neighborhood is quiet and close to the park and shopping.
We love living here!! We’ve been here for over a year and have had an overall great experience. Parking is safe and underground and storage space is offered on site as well in the underground parking area so you don’t need to store items off site. The pool is open year round and always heated, the community rooms are gorgeous, the lobby also feature a small kids corner which is great to get out of the house and escape to on cold days (with kids). There is an amazing espresso machine in he lobby available 24/7! I could go on!! On top of the amenities, the leasing office and maintenance staff are professional, prompt and personable. Brooke (at the front desk) is amazing, she is so sweet and knowledgeable. We can always count on her getting back to us regarding an issue or question almost immediately.
Recently there have been burglaries here. Don't allow them to minimize it. It's not all their fault but their lack of response to the community has been a joke. No effort to correct the issues and doors are still left open at night. Other apartments would take care of it within two days. You don't pay Cherry Creek rent to live in an unsecured place. They also refuse to hire a house keeper(s) to mop and clean and think they can maintain it themselves. Very disappointed to say the least. Groundskeeping also lacks, big time. Walk around the outside of the apartments and look how they allow some of the residents to maintain their outside areas, many are dirty and disgusting.Keep your EYES open on tours as to the cleanliness both inside and outside. COMMUNICATION is horrible! Apparently, they have not caught on that communicating through email is valued by the residents that live here. Pet waste areas still overflow with poop bags at least once a week. Dogs take a leak all over the exterior of the apartments and again no one power washes it, ever. Sending emails to residents and offering a rent discount for a "review" is not unheard of, but its very tacky. Be wary of 5 star reviews! SMOKING! This is a non-smoking complex and more and more people are smoking right outside their apartments and on balconies. Nothing like walking in from a long day at work through a cloud of smoke, both cigarette and pot smoke. Recently, I've seen staff smoking on the grounds as well. And still, the valet trash fee of $50 a month to pay someone to dump trashcans is a joke. Even better, I was downstairs the other day and walked by the front desk and a new resident was upset as they live right across the hall from the trash chute and still have to pay $50. Its a gimmick to make money. Take that money and hire a full time cleaning person. All staff are probably under 30 years old and the lack of effort and action comes through loud and clear. Don't get sweet talked! Bottom line........they refuse to hire enough staff to run this place. It's not personal, it's just an HONEST review. Denver rental prices are outrageous, do yourself right but finding a place that values who you are as a resident. The Gardens at Cherry Creek VALUE your MONEY but DO NOT VALUE your living EXPERIENCE. I've never written a 1 star review on any website, this is my first and deservedly so!
My daughter and I have lived here for over two years, and we love it. Our two bedroom has a flex space that can easily be used for an office or play area, and the apartment feels plenty large for us. We love having such great amenities - the common areas, pool, hot tub, rooftop garden, and workout room are an added bonus, too! The location is also wonderful - walking distance from the mall, parks, and restaurants! The staff are wonderful and extremely courteous, responsive, and kind!
My wife and I are current residents in a 1-bedroom floor plan, which has a flex area used as a study - This 1-bedroom has more than enough space for both of us to do our own thing. The property has a great location - Within a relaxing 15 minute walk of the Cherry Creek mall and the beautiful 3rd Avenue shopping district, one could not live closer to the buzz, but yet far enough to experience the zen feeling of family and safety in a residential area. Great facilities which includes a year round pool and a fantastic heated spa tub to unwind after a long day; or if you don't want to get wet, there is a zen garden on the roof overlooking the mountains. The leasing office has a very nice coffee machine which is open to residents free of charge; which makes delicious lattes; there is also a range of teas available. The gym is very well equipped, but the complex is also right across the street from a 24 hour fitness, should you need more space to exercise. BBQ area is very neat. The staff is always friendly and willing to help. I'll highly recommend this property to anyone!
We moved to Gardens at Cherry Creek in August, during a change in management - Still the application, move-in and paper work went smoothly. We are very pleased with this apartment building and all it has to offer. My husband and I live in a one bedroom with a flex space. Honestly, this does not feel like a one bedroom, because of the spacious and modern architecture. The finishes are of very good quality, equipped with marble-like counter tops and modern sliding doors, to preserve space. The building offers a very nice swimming pool with a hot tub and well looked after outdoor furniture. The barbecue area is equipped with good quality grill and nice furniture, always very neat and clean. The gym is spacious, has new equipment and is always clean. It's always pleasant to go grab a great coffee in the lobby and being greeted by the friendly, helpful staff. The area is perfect for anyone, it offers great restaurants and fantastic hiking trails- I would recommend this apartment complex for anyone.
Great Location!!! Everything else is a plugs...Amazing Staff- Jessica, Mike, and Brooke are wonderful and accommodate in any way they can! Beautiful facility and amenities...
