Property Ratings at Gardens at Hidden Creek Apartments
They have shut off water 68 times in 1 year. gunshots going off weekly, neighbor had a bullet thru the window. the noise from the road is L O U D. Bullet shells found on sidewalks, trash all over the grounds and broken glass bottles. the pictures shown are edited and the place looks like its post apocalyptic. Never can get hot water, the temps constantly change. The apartment was not cleaned and a lot was damaged including floors. The property manager refuses to fix all of this. The laundry room also has bed bugs.
i lived here a few years ago and just came across this place while searching and this place is so bad where the office would charge you for their garage electricity and forget to mention your unit is connected to it, there are homeless people digging the trash bins, sketchy residents knocking doors, loud neighbors either inside the homes or blasting their car music, people overdosing on drugs, if you are on thw first level your bathroom gets flooded when rains, molds, inside literally falling apart, snakes, bugs infested there were roaches when i was moving out after 5 months because my last straw was someone backing into my car in the parking lot and nothing was able to be done about it because the parking lot is so tight and small its ridiculous, also never was able to actually use the laundry area do to people breaking in and just being awefully dirty. good luck if you move here and i highly suggest that you dont.
First moved in and thought this apartment would be nice. Was wrong it had water issues before we even moved. The light in the kitchen had water that had been leaking into it for awhile. It smelled and flying ants were coming out the walls as soon areas of the apartment walls dont go have base boards so there is big gasps between the wall and the ground. For a month and a half water was pouring into my kitchen light, cupboards and also in the bathroom. We have damage to the ceilings and walls from the water and they never fixed. They also never fixed the towel rack that came out of the wall the day after we moved in. I'm worried there is mold in these walls from all the water that leaked in them for who knows how long. Now today I have another leak in the bathroom that I will have to fixed come Monday. I hope it doesn't take another month and a half. Also with that first leak they gave me 100 off the rent but should of been the whole rent as it was every other day for a month and a half! All they did was blame other tenants. Then kept saying we cant find the leak u have to get us when its leaking. Well I cant help it u take more than 10 to 15 mins to move ur butts here when u have live in maintenance men. Also rent is too much when its a shoe box u live in. They keep raising it and find more ways to get more money. Such a rip off and cant wait to move when this lease is up.
Stay away from this place at all costs. We've had problems from day one. When we went to use our keys on the front door they didn't work. The maintenance man came and changed the lock to fit the keys. We walked into the apartment (they never show you what you're getting just their office set up as a show room) the garbage disposal had metal in it, the bathroom light and vent didn't work, outlets are loose and plugs fall out, and half of the outlet plate next to the fridge was gone. All on our first day. They tried to say we didn't pay a deposit until I showed them proof. Now ONGOING problems. There's cockroaches. If you report they only spray the first Wednesday of every month so you can live with them for a whole month but are not allowed to spray yourself. They lie about treating the problem and completing other maintenance requests until you tell them you have a camera with proof they never did it. We have constant problems with the shower turning burning hot out of no where. The toilet, sink, and bathtub back up constantly. We've had them "fix" these problems multiple times but it never gets fixed. We had an EMERGENCY water issue with water pouring through our vent, out of the walls, and ceiling but no one would answer the emergency line. This happened 3 times before they actually fixed the shower in the unit above us. The maintenance man told us the second time "it has to happen one more time before I can go in the wall and fix the problem." We still have saggy paint where they didn't repair it after. There's not enough parking for everyone who has a parking pass. They have a community page and if you post anything negative they don't approve it. People are always posting about packages getting stolen, cars being broken into, police always here. Everything about this place is a huge hassle. Save yourself the constant headache and go anywhere else. Also if they want to refute this we have proof of EVERYTHING. Which you need to keep if you live here.
So I just received my invoice of charges taken out of my deposit and it's hilarious. I realize lots of people complain about this so I won't go into detail but wow, it's amazing how cheap crappy apartments make their money from hard-working people who spend a lot of time ensuring the place looks exactly or better than move-in! ALSO- half the laundry facilities have been closed due to flooding but it's been months and no fix. If you like wasting money on lemons, this is the place for you.

We have not "fixed" the second laundry room because we are making that the new fitness room and making the cyber cafe one large room with new furniture and a new TV for all to enjoy. In May we closed the second laundry due to flooding and found that having the one laundry room with 6 washer/dryers has worked out just fine since. Also, to address the deposit refund, pet damages can be very costly and utility bills had to be recovered back to last charge date of 07/08/17. Unfortunately that doesn't leave as much to be refunded. We were not the owners of the property when you moved in so I cant speak on how it looked when you moved in. Your move in sheet that was in your file only indicated one scratch on the wall and a scuff on the tub.
I moved in sight unseen 3 months ago. I didnt like the garden level apartment however Christine has me moving to a 2nd floor with new carpet. She's responsive. I used to be a property manager and I know how difficult it is to run a place this size with only 2 staff in the office. I had a problem with some noise and sent her a message and she promptly posted a notice on them. It has been tolerable ever since. They are not as loud as before. The place is beautiful. The grounds are full of shrubs and flowers. There are cats roaming around and she is trying to get the city to come trap them. It takes time. The apartments are fairly quiet. I feel safe here. Never had a car break in. It is convenient to the highway and not in a congested part of town. The rents are reasonable and the place is pest free! I can handle some spiders and ants. All the other places I looked at had bed bugs and roaches. this place is nice! Christine takes care of the place and her residents. Be respectful and you will get respect back!
This has been absolutely the worst apartment experience my wife and I have ever endured. The current leasing company being the worst. My car was towed on the Fourth of July at 6:38 pm. I have been a resident here for over a year, have my car registered with them, and have completely up to date tags. I was not double parked, and the parking lot was virtually empty. During the day my car was used to drive around my 70 yr old grandmother and 5 year old nephew, both of whom are here on vacation from out of state. I removed my parking tag from my mirror so it wasn't in the way of sight-seeing. When we arrived to the apt at 6:30pm we carried in our groceries which took about 10 minutes. In that amount of time my car was towed, costing us the rest of the evening, my nephew not seeing fireworks, and $300. All because my tag wasn't displayed for 10 minutes. When I went to confront the office this morning I was met with an immediate attitude and blame. Christine raised her voice at me right off the bat, and waved her finger at me continuously throughout the ordeal. She has a complete lack of human empathy and compassion for others, and just kept saying it was all my fault. Which yes, I realize I should've displayed the tag, but there was absolutely no reason for my car to be towed. She was completely disrespectful and does not need to be in a customer service position. Instead of going after me perhaps they should be trying to stop the real problems around here. Crime. Car break ins. Leaking pipes and mold everywhere. Extremely noisy tenants. Staff that is never available. Feral cats are everywhere on property. The security company they hired literally laughed one night when i flagged him down to say someone had just entered my apartment and ran away when i confronted them; his response as he ate his muffin was "you should keep your doors locked at all times". I will go far beyond not recommending this place to potential future residents. DO NOT MOVE HERE!! We only did because we came from out of state and didn't know any better. As I told Christine that this was no way to treat a resident, and that I would be documenting this on social media, she wanted me to make sure that I mentioned my tag was not displayed for those 10 minutes. I feel that I have made that adequately clear. Again, do not live here. There are lots of nice places on the west side of town and up north.
The property manager is incompetent. She was always late in the morning. People have jobs and they are taking time out of it see the manager. Several notes get left on the offices door with no call back. Emergency maintenance? Forget it, it won't happen because she never picks up her phone, she's lazy. Had my car towed when it was registered in my account. I go to the field it's gone. All I got was "I'm sorry and a 1200 dollar towing fee". It was registered in my account. I moved out 4 months ago. 30 phone calls to the office and I'm still waiting on my deposit. Mark my words do not stay here if you are military.

We took over ownership of the property on February 10,2017. The office hours are 9am-5:30pm and you kept showing up at 8:30am telling me I was late. Your BMW did not have a license plate anywhere on the car and it was not registered with the office. In fact it was specifically left on a letter from the previous management company that it needed to be towed but they hadn't got around to doing it. I do recall you coming back into the office to apologize to me for screaming profanity and asking to stay past your lease expiration so you could finish your move details. I worked with you on that but I don't see that in your review of us. Your deposit was mailed out to the address you gave me at move out and this is the first I'm hearing that you did not receive it. You are welcome to email me directly so we can stop pay that one and reissue another for you. christine.abeyta@urbanphenix.com Thank you, Christine Abeyta, Property Manager
