Hi there - 100% satisfaction is our goal! Great to see Garey Building gave you such a great experience.
The Garey building has been a breathe of fresh air. I moved here from living in a high rise on spring street and the cleanliness alone has been amazing. Area is quiet at night and still feels generally safe. The property is well maintained and staff is very friendly and responsive.

Hi there! Thanks so much for letting us know about your experience with Garey Building.
The building is extremely well maintained and the amenities are very luxurious. The overnight security and the maintenance of access points makes the building feel secure.

Great experience overall! Knocked it down a star since animal waste and smell tends to be an ongoing issue. They try to keep up with the cleaning but pet owners still continue to be irresponsible

Hello there, we appreciate you taking the time to leave us this feedback.
Great location near many great restaurants and breweries. The building has great amenities making it a comfortable living for residents. Only discomfort is the amount of dog barking noise for residents near the dog drop off business that is on the street level of the building. In the morning it’s a never ending amount of barking.
Property Manager at Garey Building, Responded To This Review
Hello, we're happy to hear you had such a positive experience with our team! We thank you for your honest feedback on the dog barking and are doing all we can to help ease the noise level. Have a great day!
I have lived at the Garey building for three years, I love the neighborhood convenience, the amenities and I appreciate the staff working with the tenants to make the apartment safe and an enjoyable experience.

We're glad to hear we delivered such a great experience. If there's anything further we can do for you, we are happy to help!
THIS BUILDING IS NOT SAFE! UNCOMPASSIONATE MANAGER. The catalytic converter of one of my cars was stolen from inside the gated parking structure. The car was parked on the lobby level, close to the main door to access the building. One would assume that my parking location would be the safest location to park, but that's not the case. Break-ins keep happening most likely because thieves have figured out how to best access the building and have seen that there isn't any added security. A case was presented to the property manager via email that there should be security designated just for the garage, but the request falls on deaf ears. The Property Manager is dismissive and fails to address the rise in theft inside the garage. As another reviewer mentioned, most of your complaints/requests will be ignored. When I notified the office of the incident, I was thanked for filing a police report so that the police can patrol our area better! I guess I should consider myself lucky for only getting my catalytic converter stolen (over $3k to replace, btw) as our neighbor had his WHOLE CAR stolen from the garage. While this place is beautiful, it's not worth the nightmare and the paranoia that comes from having your personal property stolen while you sleep. This place is not cheap as you pay a monthly fee for water heating, pest control, sewer, trash, and even a service fee for the program they use to charge your rent (ha!) on top of the rent, utilities, parking fee, and pet fee. While we are clearly notified that the building is not responsible for any damage to personal property, there is an expectation that a building as expensive as this one will treat its tenants with respect and compassion, and that at least SOME action will be taken against the rise in theft. I also want to point out that the rest of the team at the Garey is really kind. My complain is against the Property Manager alone.

Hi, we regret to hear that you had a negative experience with us, but would appreciate the chance to turn your experience around. We have heard you and apologize this has happened to your vehicle. The Garey Bldg. has increased security in the garage, as we have seen a major uptick in vehicle vandalism in the Arts District neighborhood and are committed to offsetting by added security efforts. Thank you for leaving feedback. Please reach out to us at (213) 292-7068 so we may identify ways to improve your experience.
This building has a serious, borderline health hazard structural design flaw that amplifies the impact noise from the unit above you. There is ZERO attempt to isolate sound between floors in this poorly constructed building. Every single step the tenants above me take will rattle the dishes in the cabinet, make my windows pop/creek, and gives off an ear piercing low frequency boom accompanying the vibration of my ceiling. The walls are not much better - I can clearly hear my next door neighbor's baby screaming throughout the day. I've lived in five apartments around LA, all cheaper than this one, and none have come close to replicating how awful the noise is here. The management team does not care - All they're willing to do is send pointless emails to the tenants above you reminding them to be mindful of their noise; This does nothing to address the structural issue. Living here has been hell. I've developed insomnia, anxiety, migraines from poor sleep, and chronic ear ringing/pain from the constant low frequency noise emitted by the tenants above me as they move around non-stop from 7AM to 3AM. Mild relief has come from using noise cancelling headphones and sleeping with a loud white noise machine. On top of the noise I've also personally experienced: Nine maintenance requests over three months to fix inoperable appliances, my car being broken in to while parked inside the gated resident garage, and things in the apartment being completely broken during the move in inspection (photos attached). Do not live at The Garey - any alternative option in this area is better for your wallet, sanity, and health.

The Garey Building is a great location for people who enjoy spending time in the Arts District and Little Tokyo. The area is very walkable, and the Garey Building is just far enough away from the popular spots that it is still quiet when at home.

They’re using an app for payment. The app doesn’t show a ‘pay’ button. It works so random. You should think additional $100 - $162 on the lease price. The app will make a late fee.

I’m thoroughly impressed by the professionalism of the staff at The Garey. Andrew was such a huge help throughout the leasing process and set us up with the perfect unit for our wants and needs. The amenities here are top notch and the design of every element creates an inviting space both for residents and their friends. Plus the location is incredible as the closest bars and restaurants are minutes away by walk! That’s rare form for living in LA. Would definitely recommend checking this place out.

Hello, we strive for 100% satisfaction, and it is great to see you had such a positive experience at Garey Building.
The Garey Building is in the heart of the growing community of the Arts District. It’s like living downtown without being in the core of the loud and congested city. The building itself is very open and airy where you don’t feel like you are trapped in a concrete box. The apartments themselves are clean, tastefully designed with touches of modern throughout. The bedrooms and porches are larger than average when compared to similarly sized apartments in the downtown area. I would recommend this community to anyone that wants to live in an actual community.
