Property Ratings at Garfield Commons
This complex is known in the area for being taken care of so poorly. Maintenance is aggressive when you actually see them (usually months after your service request). All of the buildings are full of wild animals in the attic. Take the disrepair of the exterior at face value. This complex is a fire waiting to happen if the mold doesn’t get you first.
I lived here for 3 years. First year things were ok. Second year, I went the entire summer without AC. Only reason I lived here a third year was because the beginning of 2020 and it was a weird/hard time. Bugs EVERYWHERE. Inside & out. 2 flat tires from potholes. Only the right side of my stove worked. Mold in all the closets. Do nottttttt waste your money or time.
please don’t move here. everyone is so rude and blame you for their issues!
The first day we moved in we seen several roaches running around our living room. After confronting the leasing office we were denied our money back considering we signed the lease 14 hours prior to seeing roaches. We weren’t treated until after 3 MONTHS of constantly calling and complaining. We only received 3 roach treatments and was told “there are no necessary follow up treatments” even though we see roaches daily. The staff is very rude and aggressive. Staff lies about not knowing anything so they don’t have to do any work. Maintenance never comes and fixes anything. There is no being nice or civil with these people it gets you no where. We are hiring an attorney to be able to break our lease and get this place condemned. ALSO THEIR GOOD REVIEWS ARE FAKE. THEY PRETEND TO BE RESIDENTS TO HELP THEIR RATINGS.
Love the garfield commons. I had an issue with the electicity in my unit. They came to try to fix it but could not figure it out. Then they went above and beyond to get a specialist in here to get the issue fixed within 24 hours. Super satisfied with the service.
The upkeep is absolutely terrible! There is actual SINK HOLES all over! There is no getting around them!
Don't move here. Everything about this place sucks !!! The new manager seems like she cares & The Staff In the office Ashley is great !!! Takes maintenance forever to repair something ... the AM told me that me having hot water wasn't a priority !!! I know !!! I couldn't believe it either !! They Really suck Don't waste your time !!! I'm still waiting on screens for my windows since last November !!!
Cheryl has been with me since the very beginning. I came to see the apartment recently and loved it, she was very helpful and I appreciated her going through everything about the apartment with me. She also made me feel very comfortable about asking questions about the apartment and she did it all with a smile on her face. Thanks again Cheryl for everything.!!!!!
Ashlie did a wonderful job showing us the apartment! We found the space to be great and very accommodating! We appreciated her kindness and all of the information she shared with us! Thank you so much!
This place needs some serious work. The manager and office staff talk poorly about residents in front of other residents. They never answer their phone in the office or return phone calls. They are “redoing” the outside of some of the apartment supposedly but have not made any progress on it. They’ve created holes in the building but just left it. Birds are creating holes in the parts where the holes were left. Management needs an attitude adjustment and just the decency to care about their clients. Don’t move here!
If i could give the apartment complex no stars i would! The apt above me had a leak because maintenance didn’t respond on time then it later leaked down into my apartment causing holes in my ceiling that has not been fixed a year later neighbors across from me leave trash cigarettes and raw meat outside mold in the bathrooms they just slap paint on apartments and say they are move in ready maintenance is terrible apartments are very unkept in the back of each building there are cable wires and other wires and cords tangled and falling over Comcast man said this is the worst he’s ever seen had to come out twice to fix the connections because wires are unkept and rigged with other strings and ties also the appliances are moldy they lie and tell you each appliance will be updated and replaced if non functional or molded i moved in with a broken dish washer and didn’t get it fixed until 3 months later this apartment complex is terrible!!!! Please don’t move here the reviews are true if you want a raggedy apartment that has paint over covered holes and old carpet you’ll be disappointed don’t be fooled by the looks also half of my building all has they’re rent in escrow!!!!
The office staff and maintenance are horrible!! They do NOT cover water, trash, and sewage. You pay a percent every month. There is NO playground. The windows are crap and they don't fix anything!!! Horrible place.
This is the worst complex ever. Residents don't matter. You'll be waiting forever for repairs. They don't clean the apartments before they rent them out. Their nasty, save your time and money don't believe the lies.
We’ve Been here almost two full weeks now and Day1 water issue! Has the issue been resolved?? No! Are we getting any real communication?? That’s right, NO! Our children are sleeping in our room with us because their room floor is WET, SMELLY, MILDEWY, and the water is SPREADING!!! You can tell by the trashy office and missing bricks that they don’t take pride in their buildings! #HighlyDissappointed
No such thing as playground or tennis court if you don’t believe me take tour. I’m over all the excuses the office staff and maintenance staff keep giving me, about why things are not getting done within a timely manner. “Well we only have one guy to work on A/C” “I’m not sure why your work orders are not completed “ “I have to get approval for carpet” “We don’t replace appliances unless we have to, even if they are falling apart” I’m sorry, but I’m pretty sure they are not interested in any excuses if I could not pay my rent on time. So, I’m not interested in why they can’t complete a simple repair, maybe this may not be the job for you. Emergency maintenance don’t answer or respond.
My fiancé and I came in to see the apartments and the lady was very nice at first, and she told us there were 3 available and that we would have our option of which one we wanted. We applied and got approved and she told me she would contact us in a few weeks closer to the move in date, and a month goes by and I don’t hear a thing. Calling multiple times and no reply to my emails. Finally we got contact with someone by texting their number for people who want to view apartments which is sad that it was the only way someone would talk to us. The lady said that there was a wait list and so we realized the other lady who helped us tricked us into thinking there were openings so that we would apply and they got our money. We called one more time and the lady who originally helped us answered and lied to us and said she never said there were openings. Now it’s a week from our current move out date and we are going to be homeless. Thanks Garfield commons! Glad it didn’t work out because I wouldn’t never want to live anywhere that was OK with treating people so poorly, I can’t imagine how they treat the residents!
I moved in June of 2017. My lease is 12 months within these last couple of months I have a many of problems. Out of all my problems (the dishwasher was FILTHY, leaky ceilings, broken garbage disposal). The biggest problem that I’m having now is I have black mold in my linen closet and they have YET to come and check on the problem. I have called everyday for a WEEK, left numerous of voicemails with the Manager but no one has came or even called me back. They only have ONE maintenance guy. That’s a huge problem for me.
This place is not worth 800 a month. It is terribly run, maintenance goes through your personal belongings, I had the same leak 3 times and it completely flooded the apt. No one does there job except Ashley, and there is an infestation in summertime, bugs come in through the a.c. unit. Overall it's quite disgusting. If you're thinking about renting from them, ABORT MISSION!!!
I have lived here for almost 2 years and it’s been okay. The maintenance has been slow but seems to be improving. They seem to be redoing the buildings and they are looking nicer. If you’re looking for a quite apartment, do not live on the bottom floor, we can hear everything from the upstairs neighbor. The windows suck, we get a bad draft from all the windows during the winter. It’s says water, sewage, and trash included but they now charge you for a small portion of the bill. I had high hopes for a nice playground when we moved in being I have a child but it’s nothjng but one slide and broken swings. The pool takes forever to open during the summer, and doesn’t seem to be cleaned often. They also are very leanyent on the oool rules, kids time around without supervision. Overall great for a first apartment. But not great for a family home and the amenities suck.
I have to say there has been a total turn around in staffing and management company at Garfield. It was ran very poor before however, now it appears every resident matters. Service needed has a quick turn around and they are doing quite a bit of improvement to the buildings. I would recommend this place 100% now.
Lived here for a couple of years...always paid on time, brought in other residents, all was great until...my neighbor's were scary! Like going psycho in the parking lot nightly scary. Never find a place to park because 12 people lived in one apartment. And the bugs! It was like an Alfred Hitchcock move with the bugs and the office didn't believe me. I had to take a container full of them and video proof of me killing dozens on my walls to get an exterminator out to spray. And the time maintenance decided it would be OK to enter my home at 7am because there was a leak in the apartment below...good thing I sleep with a door guard. No call to let me know either. Great size for the price but they don't care about the residents.
The reason I chose the complex, was the size and amount of bathrooms. I don't know that I would recommend these due to the fact that there has been many maintenance issues, and the repair time is ridiculous. It seems every week there is something that needs to be repaired.
Complex has poor maintenance, but new owners now. I have work orders in since June 2014 that have not been completed. Outside needs much repair, painting and maintenance, roads in complex still has many pot holes. At this point would not recommend this complex to anyone. Rent has been increased a lot and now they charge for washer/dryer on monthly basis.
This place is very affordable and i have no bad comments to make about it! I have been here almost 2 years and I am very happy to be here! Highly recommended.
