Situated about 19 miles west of Gulfport, Waveland is a quaint small town on the Mississippi Gulf Coast. Waveland is home to the sprawling Buccaneer State Park, which boasts 400 acres of recreational opportunities on the beach. Speaking of the beach, Waveland is the only city on the Mississippi Gulf Coast that prohibits commercial buildings on its beachfront.
Waveland is the proud home of a close-knit community, which is commemorated in the Waveland Ground Zero Hurricane Museum. Waveland continues to foster a strong sense of community with an array of vibrant festivities, including the annual Wave Fest, Saint Patrick’s Day Parade, and Mardi Gras Parade (which actually starts in Bay Saint Louis and ends in Waveland). Convenience to U.S. 90 makes getting around from Waveland a breeze.

Property Ratings at Gates at Coralbay
I called today to see if they had any vacant apartments. Due to me working from home. I had to hang up to take a work call. When I attempted to call back I wasn't getting an answer. I then told my roommate to call from her phone and guess what? They answered. She got all the information needed. I then called back from my phone and didn't get an answer. It's so unprofessional for management to sit there watching someone call and not answer. I waited until this evening to call and I got an answer. Only because someone else was on shift. Needless to say the information that was given to my roommate wasn't the same information given to me. I really considered moving here because they look nice and are reasonable. However, I think I'm going to change my mind cause I can already see how this will turn out. Thanks but no thanks.
Sure, it looks nice. There is maintenance that cuts the grass, but leaves the pond in the back floating with plastic and styrofoam, it is disgusting and a shame to see such disregard for the environment. The walls, the floors..all of it is paper thin, so you can hear EVERYTHING. Also, you want to hang something up? HA!! Good luck finding a stud, whoever built it must have thrown out the 'up to code construction' manual. And they clearly don't clean it very well before a new tenant enters. They just wax over the floor, leaving previous dirt and HAIRS (EWW!) trapped under the wax so your apartment will never look clean. Don't move here.... burn, it. down.
These apartments are wonderful. They are gated, and secure. They have a pool, and a business office with free internet access. The units are spacious and clean. It is a less than 10 minute drive to the interstate, as well as restaurants, entertainment, and the beach. The managers live on site, and they are very nice and attentive. The maintenance is very timely with repairs and such. I love living here.
I have lived here for over four years, I have a two bedroom two bath unit of over 1100 sf. I love that the living room, entry hall, dining room, as well as the kitchen and baths have very nice sturdy tile floors that are so easy to keep clean. The maintenence staff lives on property so they are handy for any emergency and the office staff is very responsive to all of the tenant needs. Pets are welcome . All the units are so fresh and clean when you move in it is like a little slice of heaven is waiting for you. Neighbors watch out for each other and there is a real sense of community here. A playground for the children and a very nice pool to enjoy are wonderful amenities. shopping is just a short ride away. All of this and very reasonable rent.
I just moved out of the Gates because they have all new management that will not interact with the tenants. They now demand that tenants must do exactly what the mgmt. says, but do not respond to problems. The gates were broken most of the time, the b "business" office for tenants was closed and locked and tenants were not allowed to use it. The garbage piled up every weekend because no one tended to the compactor. And even though I paid my rent promptly with a check that never bounced for two years, they now say that tenants must buy money orders. Pay to pay a bill. No complaints allowed. If you have a problem, put it in writing, sign it and just leave it at the office, but they won't deal with the problem. The landscaping has gone to ruin, and they won't spend a penny to fix it. Many problems and they ignore the tenants. Poor management makes things very bad for them, so I left
I was considering moving here. The staff was very nice. The 3 bedroom was huge with storage closets everywhere. The place is very clean. It's a short drive from the interstate and beach. The pool though is smaller than it looks in pictures and isn't very private.
Property Manager at Gates at Coralbay, Responded To This Review
This place is a nightmare, manager is rude and has a nasty attitude when talking to you. They walk into your apartment, even if you're not there. The gates are never in working order,no security. The garbage compactor is always full, especially on weekends, garbage protruding out of dumpster. Now they are wanting to stop the writing of personal checks to pay rent and Yes, you have to pay for the water. You have to pay to pay your rent and water bill. That's a bummer.
