Property Ratings at Gates of Oakwood
The apartments are infested with a mold. We have a mushrooms growing in our bathroom. Maintenance did not do anything in regards to this. All they did was paint over the mold spores.
They have roaches and see through lizards everywhere. The place is infested with roaches, little baby roaches all in your place, no matter how clean you keep it. Termite damage and creeky floors! Also, there is no controlled Gates, just walk in cages that require a key. Walls are paper thin!
Needed to move in ASAP somewhere. Submitted application fee (which was over $100). 5 days later still had not heard anything back. Emailed and got confirmation from leasing person that my application was cancelled. A week later they charged a deposit anyway and now they are trying to say "deposits aren't refundable"
They have roaches, one maintenance person for the entire property, the carpet is filthy they will get it cleaned for the viewing the moment you move in the stains will start showing through. Everybody hates management back here. Parking is also a issue your car will have dents and scratches!!!! The gates are locked so good luck getting your Amazon or ups deliveries on time!!! Worst decision I ever made!!!!!!!
I live here currently. this place is a joke I am currently waiting until my lease is up to move. The office staff doesn't care about the property at all. the walls are EXTREMELY THIN u can hear everything your neighbors are doing, the pools are ALWAYS DIRTY,wires are hanging from buildings, there are holes in the buildings, the trash is always overflowing, the wash room doesn't have hot water, the buildings are very dirty and needs to be pressure washed. there is always trash on the grounds, don't let the area by the office fool you, and they only have one maintenance man so will wait weeks before anything is fixed.
What can I say, this is a horrible apartment complex. Please do not let the internet pics fool you. The mailboxes caught a fire and I had to drive to the Gretna main office to get my mail, whenever I order something online I never get my package, my next door neighbor tried to come into my apartment one night because he "thought it was his" & I had to call the police, I had roaches in my refrigerator, the hot water always ran cold when you tried to take a bath instead of a shower, the nobs in the tub were always breaking, they never fixed anything when you called, they came into my apartment without my consent and left a hole in my wall for over a week (nothing covering it),when they finally did come to fix the hole they were entering my apartment again without my consent while I was in the shower, I had ants, they always have trash outside on the grounds, the police were called often, somebody was always getting arrested, the laundry room is filthy, the pool is never clean, the water smells horrible, the roaches & nats are horrible, you wouldn't feel safe in the fitness center--trust me!!!!!! I advice you to continue looking elsewhere because you will be disappointed!!!!!!!
I recently moved her about 7 months ago and I have no problems. I was skeptical because of other reviews but I like to experience and see things for myself and the community is nothing like what the reviews are saying. I have lived in several apartments and every apartment community have issues but I can say whenever I call to report an issue it is taken care of in a timely manner. Staff is friendly and the new courtesy officer is great. I do wish the gym was open 24 hours instead of closing at 8pm. Overall very nice community.
I have been staying in these apartments for three years and it has went downhill. Management has NEVER been great except for the one gentleman that was a leasing agent, who quit because of the manager CS. CS does not know how to deal with tenants in a professional manner, she speaks in the most derogatory manner and expects respect because of her title. The office sends out monthly news letters claiming tenants should contact them with any maintenance issues,they require you give them 24 hours - 3 days to address the issue. Well I have been waiting for 3 weeks someone finally came to my apartment to see what the problem was, yet the problem was never fixed and noone ever followed up. When you question why nothing has been done it's one excuse after the other. Maintenance is a joke, lets just say I am never okay with them coming into my apartment when I am not home. The last young man they had was stealing out of the tenants apartments. The supposed to be security gates are always broken, the apartments looks more like a project than a nice apartment community they want you to believe they are. But the main problem is the new younger tenants, they are not doing background checks on these individuals. Gang writings on the walls, just outside of my window I have seen drug activity going on. You never feel safe walking through the apartments, there was a cop that would walk the premises and scare the riff raffs, we no longer see him. I do not feel safe anymore and can't wait for my lease to be up. DO YOURSELF A FAVOR AND KEEP LOOKING THIS IS A SLUM APARTMENT COMPLEX.
I've been staying back here for a year and I must say, they take forever to fix things. The hot water is always running out. They have bad plumbing problems,tub is always running. Everytime I call they just tell me they will put a ticket in but never come to fix problem untils weeks later. Mailroom caught fire and wasn't able to get mail for months. Look like they should've knocked off some rent if you ask me. I work to hard for my money to say they don't like fixing anything. Fitness center always open office hours which is terrible because I work same hours. When I get off from work at times I want to get a good workout but I can't because of hours. I also have alot of SPIDERS in my apartment,so unsafe.Plus once you make a year they go up on rent. When you ask when will they stop going up on rent, they just act as if they don't know. Washroom always dirty,trash all over, water everywhere. The list goes on and on.......
This was my first apartment, and my worst. I moved here thinking that it was a great place & the day I moved in, there were roaches in my fridge. And I had roaches the entire time I lived there. My roof leaked onto my bed, and ruined my bed set. They claimed they would fix it, but everytime it would rain, my roof would leak. The pools were always dirty, and so was the property. People would just throw their trash anywhere they please. The mail room was even set on fire and we weren't able to get our mail. The only reason why this property is receiving one star is because it was quiet, other than that, this is dump. They need to shut this place down.
