Property Ratings at Gateway 505
I visited 20+ apartments in my search to find a new place in SLC. Zac was super welcoming, informative, and communicative throughout the whole process, which contributed to my decision to join Gateway 505. Logan was very helpful as well with ironing out the finer details of the lease. Curtis, Jose, and Daniel were quick with resolving any maintenance issues to a high standard. Needless to say, I found my new home!
A resident for 2+ years and love living here. The recent management team is great!! Sigifredo and his team are a great fit. They all have been working tirelessly to improve the property. Communication has improved greatly since they came on board. All their hard work to improve the property is greatly appreciated. Thank you to all the staff for their hard work. Enjoy all the events they have been hosting for us. Keep up the great work!!

Hello, Thank you for the positive review! We are so glad to hear of your positive experience with us so far! - Thank you, Gateway 505 Manager
I love how secure the building is. It’s is very aesthetically pleasing Management interacts with the community very well through their online portal, by providing updates and current events that are going on. They also respond in very timely matter to service requests, or any issues that may arise. I love my one bedroom apartment. It is very spacious and has plenty of storage space. The gym has amazing equipment and is very clean. I have not been to the pool yet, but it’s heated which is a plus. I highly recommend considering moving to 505 Gateway. It is within walking distance to plenty of entertainment and a short walk to Trax.

My dryer hasn't worked since I moved in, for months now. After 5 or so service calls, they claimed they'd just replace it, but it has been like 3 months and they have done nothing. Now, my washer isn't working, and still, no effort to fix anything at all. The paint is cracked and dingy. The repairs around a broken window frame (before I moved in) looks horrid, misshapen, and the repair guy carelessly flung plaster all over the room and stained the hardwood during the repair. The apartment they showed me before I moved in is entirely different from what this place actually looks like. This place is a dump.

Hello, we appreciate you bringing this experience to our attention. If you are willing, please contact us at (385) 258-2154 so we can work towards a resolution. We look forward to hearing from you.
Lived here for a year. Unit wasn't clean moving in (washing machine was absolutely gross with hair and other things still inside) and things like the shower and the toilet were broken. Wood windows on the patio were also not sealed correctly and starting to rot out. Paint was also spilled on the floor in a couple spots as well. No sound mitigation whatsoever between the units. Neighbors would also party into the early hours and the number for security that would just go to voice mail was never answered. Rooftop mechanical equipment above the bedroom would vibrate the ceiling and walls at times, making the bedroom unusable. Fast forward a year later: a month after moving out, being charged unspecified fees for cleaning, "damage," painting, and carpet. Bit of a head scratcher (photos attached before turning in the keys). The only redeeming thing about this complex was the proximity to the light rail and the little grocery store across the street. Unfortunately though, I can not recommend renting an apartment in this building.

Gateway 505 has great quality apartments for rent. With plenty of amenities to enjoy right on site. The pool courtyard is one of my favorite places to hang out with friends. The staff here are professional and kind. Though maintenance has been slow to resolve issues. Even so, I would still recommend living here.

Apartment was in great condition and very clean when I moved in. All the staff have been very friendly and the amenities are very nice.
I love living here. The front desk managers are always coming up with fun things for the residents. Things are taken care of quickly and the maintenance is so awesome!
Since living here, Gateway 505 is my home and a sanctuary. The staff makes everyday a joy and pleasure to live here.
My apartment is very well laid out and full of everything I need even though it is a one bedroom. I feel at home here.
We like the location relative to downtown, nice having the Gateway close with places to eat. Before Covid I'd say there were only little things here and there, the amenities were all open, the staff is nice, and there were apartment events to make up for the shortfalls. However, since then we have become increasingly disappointed. The hallway near the elevator always has poop, throw-up or trash. I have now been without hot water for 5 days while we have my parents visiting from out of town. The garage door hasn't worked for the past month, not to count the countless other times it's messed up. The access control and camera coverage is lacking, doors are always left propped open or the card reader is broken and it's unlocked. They do not have cameras coverage for all entrances and exits with coverage for only the parking garage drives and office areas. I tried to post video of someone trying to open my car onto the apartment community app and they didn't approve it. They just told me to contact SLCPD. I figured if someone got something stolen that day it might help identify who did it. Amenities closed due to Covid had maintenance issues and didn't open all at the same time, why weren't these issues taken care of while it was shutdown for Covid? This past week I got to see 2 residents fist fight over the garage door not opening as it's constantly broken and needing repaired. One resident was trying to get in and another yelled until it escalated to one following the other and fighting in the street. Homeless people come and go from the area as there are shelters, at certain times of the year there isn't many around and others there is a small town's worth. Unless they offer a substantial discount to our current rent we will be leaving. We didn't have much time to look as we moved from out of state. This was the most expensive apartment complex we looked at and figured there would be a certain quality associated with that. However, that is not the case as we are definitely disappointed for the $3-400/month more we are paying compared to other apartments in SLC.
The location, apartment and amenities are perfect
GATEWAY 505 is the best place I have lived in over 60 years. The units are well taken care of and have top notch appliances. The leasing, Cleaning, Maintenance and Management staff are the best in the industry. They provide assistance and are willing to discuss and address any concerns in a timely manner. THe activities they plan are the best I have ever experienced.
Great place overall. Just need to amenities open.
Make sure you don't let your parking pass fall off your mirror or slide too low on your dashboard. They will tow your car even though you were in your own designated parking spot that you pay a $125 a month for. Then when you tell them you have stuff in your trunk for your little brother's funeral that morning they will tell you you better taken Uber.
My partner and I were very impressed with the smooth move-in process as we were coming from out-of-state. Management is friendly and professional, the location is perfect for our commutes, and the amenities are great.
The living experience is wonderful . The vibe is really energetic.
Gateway 505 is a wonderful place to live. The location puts you downtown without the noise of nightlife. The staff work really hard to accommodate the needs of the residents.
Excellent location and amenities. The staff here is caring and very helpful. the apartments the perfect size. I lovevthe safe friendly atmosphere.
I love the building and amenities. This is the perfect Salt Lake City Location. Near to shopping and tourist attractions. The best apartment complex in Salt Lake City.
I would not recommend living here. The lease rates are too high for what's provided and the community is run by a team that does not care about the security of it's residents. Countless break-ins while I've lived here.
Great location with great amenities.
Great location with great amenities. Current management company has really turned the community around. Prices are a little high compared to nearby communities though.
I love living here! The apartments are spacious and quiet, the amenities are LOVELY, and the staff are incredibly helpful and friendly.
I just moved into this apartment complex from out of state and I couldn't be more satisfied with the customer service from team at Greystar. Marjan was helpful with everything from the moment I walked through the doors and made the out-of-state move seamless. She even moved in my mattress that arrived a day earlier than I did. The apartment itself is new, clean, and the property itself is well maintained with three designated areas for my dog to roam around in and immaculate common areas - including a nice and quiet area to do work in.
Do not recommend! They dont honor lease terms, the staff is rude, unprofessional, and not ever helpful. The grounds and pool are nice. Most of the units are empty, this is an air bnb location so that comes with a lot of noisy tourists. Again, do not recommend.

Review shortened for character limit; this place is too expensive for what you are getting, the location isn't that secure due to the access to the buildings or broken locks, ALWAYS loud, front office is apathetic. It all started the day we moved in: after a 10 hour drive into town, exhausted with lease in hand, needing help back to our unit because it was in another part of the building you need a key fob to access, and we didn't have a key fob to open those doors yet, we get screeched at with a loud "WE DON'T DO AIRBNB! WE AREN'T AIRBNB". Yeah, that's great, we don't do Airbnb and aren't Airbnb either, please let us back to our unit, we have a lease, but don't have a key fob, we're moving in and just need to get to our door, thanks. This set the stage for many horrid interactions to the point I tried to completely avoid them unless I had a package. I own a dog, I love dogs. There is an on-leash policy and there is also a rule to pick up after your pets, no one respects either. Dogs off their leash throughout complex and outside, regardless of their dog reactivity behaviour, which is not regulated at all, and can be an awful experience when running into bad dogs with bad owners. On a weekly basis, I was finding poo out in the hallways and stairways, having to pick it up with my own personal poo bags as the outdoor dispensers were often empty. It seems like there are dogs barking a lot, but as soon as your own dog lets out any noise (I have an old dog that literally sleeps 95% of the time), you're getting reported and getting a call from the office. Its a little ironic that the front office is basically completely useless except for if you've been reported for your dog barking, when there are plenty of other noise disturbances - like the guys who go out partying and on their way back yell the whole way down the hall while slamming shut the fire break doors in the middle of the hall. Those are really minor problems compared to the parvo outbreak that killed a few dogs and made many others really sick because most dogs in the complex are puppies and really susceptible to parvovirus. It was a pretty awful few months, more and more dogs got sick, and some of them passed away. I don't think the apartment handled that well at all. They bleached the small dog park once but I don't think they treated any other surfaces or did another bleaching - it was left up to the residents to follow around with a spray bottle of bleach any time their sick dogs had to potty.
DO NOT MOVE HERE! Where do I even begin? Our first day was chaos. When we got there to sign the lease, they didn't have anything ready as they had "forgotten" that we were moving in. (There were hardly any tenants at that point, so it was not a valid excuse). The amount we had in a cashiers check is the amount Ali had told us before our move in day, and when we got there, they made it more for x,y,z reasons that could have been made known to us PRIOR to that day but were not. Then, we got to our apartment and had to clean it before we could even move in! There was paint on the floors, and nothing was cleaned. They did not give us our "welcome packet" for weeks with our parking pass, property info, etc. NOT TO MENTION there is a homeless shelter right around the corner! We knew that going in, but they also assured us there would be security monitoring the building 24/7. THAT WAS A LIE!!! One night we were down in the Billiards room, when we saw a homeless man jump the fence to the pool area. He proceeded to use the grills and wash his hands in the pool! We immediately called the security, and they told us that they manage other properties and it might be A FEW HOURS before they could address the situation. THAT IS THE SECURITY WE WERE PAYING FOR?! Then another thing they told us when we were looking at the property was that this big green building behind our apartment was in the process of being demolished. LIES!!! Over a YEAR later and it is still there!!! And it brings questionable people right outside our windows. As far as the community goes, there are a lot of partiers that are always in the pools and other areas well passed 10pm drinking and making LOTS of noise. You often can smell weed in the hallways and stairs. THIS IS NOT A FAMILY FRIENDLY COMPLEX. We were counting down the months, then days until we moved out. We were so ready to leave. We had made proper arrangements with Corey and Steve who were part of the previous management (who left just a few weeks before our last day) and the new management honored NOTHING. SO TO TOP OFF OUR EXPERIENCE, now we are stuck paying an additional month, parking, trash, fees when we don't even live there. We try to reach out to Amanda, and she does not email back or return calls. Do not move here unless you want to be taken advantage of.
Please don't move here. The management is unreliable and they have not written anything down, meaning "they can't prove that we've had conversations in the past." If you're planning on renting here, please make sure to write down every single conversation or they will find a way to screw you over. Maintenance is really good when they actually get the request. There seems to be a lack of communication between them and the management. Last thing that's most important. If you have a small dog, do not move here. They had a parvo outbreak two months ago. It is a disease that kills ninety percent of dogs that get it. Dogs under two years old are susceptible, especially if they have black or brown fur. The apartment hasn't taken measures to clean it up, so we're all just suffering. Please do not move here. It is not worth the headache.
