Property Ratings at Gateway Apartments II
As previous posts mention, the apartments are overpriced. Rent continued to rise significantly with no added benefits (i.e. no pool, gym, community center, etc.). Units are constructed with cheap material that damages easily, then they will charge you for the damage. Location was a positive and maintenance was friendly. Management is subpar.
Firstly Bill the maintenance manager is extremely friendly and if ever there was an issue (which was rare) he did everything he could to ensure my family was safe and taken care of as quickly as possible. Me and my wife are very friendly people so we get along great with our neighbors. The apartment is very pleasant, clean, and the area is peaceful. Having a new baby it’s important that it be quite especially at night and we have had no issues with noise being a problem. As for the rent it’s very reasonable especially in today’s market. Not to mention that my commute to and from work is extremely easy. All in all over the last 3+ years living here I believe it is and has been the perfect place for me and my family and we are very pleased with our experience here. Of course reviews are subjective it only takes one small thing to become a big issue, but speaking for my family if I had to start over renting here again? I definitely would, which would probably explain why I’ve just renewed my lease and we are still here. :)
Lived in the Gateway Apartments on Genesee St and had nothing but issues for the entire time living there (1 year) could not be happier to have left! Upon moving in, they raised the rent higher than what was advertised. This apartment is completely equipped with cheap materials, fake hard wood floors, cheap wood cabinetry, cheap appliances and cheap counter tops. It is not worth the amount they charge in rent. The neighbors above my unit were very loud with children and you constantly could hear them running around even in the middle of the night. Several times throughout the year, their were issues with the furnace and water tank and we were left in the middle of the winter with no heat or hot water for days! When contacting maintenance, we were told that it would need to wait until the weekend was over because they had no one on call to handle the issue and if we wanted we could call someone to look at it but we would have to cover the costs and suggested we go out to buy space heaters which we would be stuck covering the cost of as well. Also when you try contacting the property manager, Aaron, he never gets back to you. If you are considering renting here, don’t!!
This apartment complex has so many advantages. Aside from its convienent location (near the 33 and 90 on ramps, and airport) they are well constructed and visually appealing. They have spacious apartments with 2 bedroom 2 bathroom options. All utilities are energy efficient offering lower than average rates in the buffalo area. At most apartment complexes you would assume noise would be an issue. Its not. The walls are very well insulates cutting out the majority of all noise especially in the bedrooms. It is located on the best side of genesee st so that the airport does not cause noise outside. The apartment is dog friendly 25lbs and under. There is plenty of space for small dogs to walk around on a leash. Como park which is also dog friendly is only a 10 minute drive away. Not to mention a few veterinarians and obedience clinics only a 5 minute drive away. Grocery stores are also redily available. Only a 5 minute drive away. Transit rd which is just down the road offers tons of great places to eat, drink, or shop. After apartment searching for a while we found these prices were a little on the higher side, but you truly get what you pay for. All modernized kitchen and appliances. Gas stove and energy efficient electric and gas. We've found that what we paid in rent we've saved on electric and gas. I give this place 5 stars without question. Bang for your buck you cannot beat this modern roomy living arrangement. They work through bella vista group. This again is gateway apartment 2 not to be confused with gateway apartments located on transit rd.
