You can find Greeley just 49 miles from Denver, placing it an ideal range for those seeking a quick commute to the big city and a small-town environment. This former farming town is now on the rise and home to many large corporations and small businesses.
Greeley houses two colleges within its boundaries. The University of Northern Colorado and Aims Community College are two major community achievements. The downtown area is an exciting part of town where locals and students enjoy grabbing a bite before attending a concert at the Union Colony Civic Center.
In addition to academia, the city touts gourmet restaurants, affordable apartments, as well as five craft breweries, including Crabtree and Broken Plow. Poudre River Trail is a 21-mile paved pathway suited for walking, biking, and even rollerblading if you’re into it. Residents appreciate the shopping opportunities at Greeley Mall, plus the city-wide festivals such as Greeley Stampede with its rodeos, carnival games, and food.

Property Ratings at Gateway Place
Moved in in July. It is now a few days until December and my dryer is still broken. Have had maintenance requests in on other things going on two months now. Office people just keep telling me maintenance is busy. I'm an adult student who can't afford to move around, but I couldn't be bribed to renew a lease here. The walls are so thin I can hear my neighbors music all hours of the night, I can hear it when they fight. I can hear it when people are outside talking. Or when my neighbor let's their kid set of the car alarm just for fun :) When I moved in I found the previous tenants leasing paperwork in the cabinets, his socks under the bathroom cabinet, and the place was not what I would call 'move in ready'. Seriously. From a completely sane and down to earth human being...I'd advise looking elsewhere.

My daughters car got stolen from the apartment complex. I have tried on several occasions to get someone to call me back so that we can get video footage for the police. No one in this company has the decency to even return a phone call. Unbelievable

Philip, we sincerely apologize for these unfortunate circumstances your daughter has encountered in our community. We do not have camera footage of the exact location of where her car was parked, however, we did provide her a flash drive with footage of the front entrance to the community for the hours she requested. Please contact our office at 970-330-5704 or via email at GatewayPlace@AssetLiving.com at your earliest convenience so we can further discuss your concerns. Sincerely, Gateway Place Apartments
If you are looking at this because you are thinking about moving here, do yourself a huge favor and look somewhere else. TL;DR everything is broken and no one cares. a We chose this place because we liked the location and the apartments looked nice, however it has all gone downhill almost from the moment we moved in. First, they can and will lie to you to get you to sign, we specifically asked about keeping bikes on our patio before we signed anything. We were told that we could do so, however a notice came around a couple months later saying that keeping bikes on patios was against the rules. The entire sink fell into the cabinet below the first day we moved in. The fuses are constantly going out and we have to wait for a professional to come and replace the fuse, because the fuses are “under warranty”. This is a pattern that will repeat for almost any problem in the house. The rent is functionally $25 more than is stated because you must have and pay for the trash valet service whether you want the service or not. The service picks up the trash every day except for Fridays and Saturdays, however when neighbors put trash out past 8 on Thursday or anytime before 6 on Sunday the trash just stays sitting in the hallway for days and smells horrible. No one at the office is checking or even cares about the trashy hallways. The is a light/fan in the living room that comes with a remote to control it, however other apartments remotes control each other’s. The light and/or fan is constantly being controlled by other people and turning on or off when it is not wanted. Finally, I have been without AC for a month and a half. We told them right away, however it was deemed to be “under warranty” so no one could fix it. We were told that the part was ordered but when it came they explained that another apartment had been without for longer than us so they were getting the apparently single part that was ordered, that was over a month ago. They later, after we complained again, ordered another new part about 2 weeks ago and now we are waiting again. They told us that they would send an email to whomever is really in charge about getting us a cut on the rent for all this hassle, however they later said that they won’t be doing anything about this situation. I have only lived here for a few months, but I am now counting the days until my lease is up.
I’ve lived at Gateway for a year now. I cannot say how much I appreciate the kindness and responsiveness of the faculty and staff here. Granted I’ve been a regular in the amenities, still each employee has known my name. As far as I have explored, this residence provides one of the biggest bangs for your buck in Greeley. The facilities are well kept, the amenities are solid, and maintenance requests are timely. I’d recommend those looking for a quiet complex closer to shopping, groceries, and a few schools to check out Gateway. I look forward to the expansion and renovations as they near completion.
I had never spent much time in Greeley before moving here, so I didn't really know where to start. So I did what most do these days and searched online for a dozen or so acceptable places. They all looked good on my computer, but once I saw them all in person I knew this was the place to be. It wasn't even close. The staff is friendly, the location is convenient to everything, and I am very happy in my apartment. I use the awesome workout facility most days (free weights, elliptical and sauna), and my grandkids love cooking s'mores in my wood-burning fireplace. If you are looking for an apartment in Greeley check out Gateway Place Apartments.
This is the worst living experience I have had in my entire life. Shortly after my wife and I moved into the third floor apartment we noticed our apartment smelled like smoke. When we complained we were told that no one was smoking and that they are very strict on this policy. Shortly after the lady on the FIRST floor moved and they had to completely gut her apartment and remove everything as it was all yellow and stained with smoke. A month later we had new neighbors move in to the second floor apartment. After a short time our entire apartment once again reeked of cigarette smoke and weed. This time it became too much to handle as along with the smoke, that my wife and I are both allergic to, our neighbor yelled at his wife and kids day and night. When we went to address this with the apartment complex they tried to blow us off again but after insisting it was a serious problem they wrote a note on his door asking him to stop. This did nothing and despite all of our pleas to Gateway Management it only got worse as his kids began asking us for money and leaving food out where our dog could eat it on the lawn (don’t ask how they pulled that off). Finally, I went to management and told them we only had a month left on our lease and we were moving out. We had one member of the team understand and say she would take care of it for us. She assured us we would owe no extra rent for the month we were leaving early and could move ASAP. We moved out and then a year later we were sent to collections without ever receiving a prior call or letter from them. What’s worse, is when I went to reach back out to the collections company, they added on a bunch of extra charges from our deposit like “smoke damage.” Do yourself a favor and pay a little more upfront, because living at Gateway will only cost you money and heartache on the back end.

We are terribly sorry for the issues that you had while living here. We do our very best to handle situations such as these. Unfortunately we also must follow some pretty strict guidelines on how to handle things. We have not charged anyone for "smoke damage" for quite a few years, we have however charged people for not cleaning out their fireplaces when they move out. We also must always follow the terms of the lease that each resident signs. The office staff cannot deviate from the terms of the lease, if you did in fact leave your lease early then there are penalties for that. We always try our very best to accommodate every resident and assist when there are issues, we apologize if our efforts fell short in your situation. We hope you have been successful at finding new, suitable living accommodations.
Stays very dirty due to no carpet Bad parking-a lot of oil trucks, left with a lot of scratches and dings in my car Very noisy-complained multiple times and they told us to call the cops, not them Extremely overpriced with new renovations No lights in walkways between apartments Very dark and dingy in the garden level apartments We had flooding on three separate occasions that started in the bedroom and seaped into our living room. All they did was add sandbags outside. Did not offer to help with damage costs or take it out of our rent central location and close to UNC Nice staff
The office personal was very helpful and always friendly. The 2 bedroom was cozy and quiet. I loved that there was no carpet in the apt. The complex is very pet friendly. The complex is well located and close to a lot ammenities.

Thank you so much for the feedback Laurie. I am pleased to hear that you enjoyed your stay with us.
I was suckered into thinking this was a nice place because of the high rent prices and I was moving from out of town. This place is absolute trash and you can find a much nicer apartment anywhere in Greeley at this rent price. Please avoid.

The apartments are good, but the management can use a bit of work. The quality of service as well as maintenance has really gone down in the last 2 years since I moved in.

Again, thank you for taking the time to leave us a review, I hope you may find the opportunity to reach out to us again. ~ Gateway Place Apartments Management
As I am writing this review I have been living here at Gateway Place for about a year and a half. Overall my experience has been pretty good. The grounds are fairly well kept, the residents are friendly, maintenance is quick to get any problems fixed, and the staff is for the most part been easy to deal with. The apartments include a wood burning fireplace, gas heat and central air, a spacious balcony and storage room, and washer/dryer included (very convenient in my opinion), and an accent wall on which you have several colors to choose from. However, there are a few downsides I would like to mention. Though it is slightly better then it was when I first moved in, the parking here is terrible. The parking lot is very poorly laid out, and most of the spaces stay full. In the particular apartment that I am in (which is on the south side of the building), the closest parking lot that has any spaces open is a good 150-200ft walk from my apartment. Needless to say, moving in and getting groceries up to my place is a pain. Second, the layout of the living room in particular (2 bedroom 1 bath) is awkward. The wall that has the cable and satellite hookups in on the same wall with the diagonal fireplace, making it a tight fit for my TV stand and speakers. The kitchen is also a bit small. Speaking of the kitchen, while this may just be what happened with me, the appliances appear original to the apartment. They are getting pretty dated and don't work all that well, and when I moved in I was under the impression that the appliances would be the same as the apartment they showed me (which were considerably newer). Just something to keep in mind. Finally, while some of this is just because of being in Northern Colorado, the rent here is pretty expensive. The 2 bedroom 1 bath apartment that I am in runs $900 (which was locked in when I signed a 2yr lease in November 2013), and they have gone up considerably since then. While Gateway does have a number of upsides, in all honesty I do not think they are worth what they are charging for rent now, and even at only $900 a month I believe I overpay for the place I am in. Overall, if one can get past the expensive rent and the other downsides I mentioned, if Gateway appeals to you, go for it. Not a bad place at all.

Thank you so much for taking the time to leave us a review, we appreciate hearing from our residents as it allows us to improve. Parking is always an issue in apartment communities, there never seems to be enough available. We are looking into solutions to help alleviate some of this and hope to implement them soon. As for the appliances, we do switch out appliances as they age, I apologize if you had some that were not in proper working order. Had we been informed we would have gladly changed them out for you. Since this review is anonymous we can not look up your information to see which apartment you were in to verify. We always strive to supply the best experience possible for all of our residents. Again, thank you for taking the time to reach out to us and leave a review. ~ Gateway Place Apartments Management
