Springfield is rich with American history -- one of the final American Revolution battles, the Battle of Springfield, was fought here in 1780. The town is still home to historical landmarks from the Revolution, including the Cannon Ball House (built in 1741), which is now a museum. After British troops burned the First Presbyterian Church, it was rebuilt -- but much of the original structure remains. Today, Springfield is one of the state's most popular townships -- it was even named one of the "Best Places to Live" by Newsweek Magazine in 2010. Springfield is also home to one of the nation's top-ranking high schools, Dayton High School.
The Baltusrol Golf Club, founded in 1895, has hosted several major golf tournaments, including the 2016 PGA Championship. The private golf course is ranked as one of the best in the country by Golfweek Magazine. Springfield is home to several beautiful parks, including Lenape Park, Hidden Valley Park, and Rahway River Parkway.

Property Ratings at General Greene Village Apartment Homes
Avoid this place! This is a poorly managed apartment block. It is infested with mice and if any of your appliances break, expect it to take at least 3 weeks to fix. We have had mice for weeks, in our apartment. We have had to kill some mice ourselves, and explain to our child why there is a sleeping mouse on the rug in the bathroom. When they failed to improve the situation they subsequently told us we are not doing our part even though there is a mice infestation in all the surrounding apartments and we weren't the first ones to get the mice. The washer has constantly needed repairs throughout the year and they have not reimbursed us for having to use the communal laundry for weeks. The radiators and A/C are so infested with mold that we couldn't use the A/C in the summer and we constantly have a musty moldy smell in our apt. They have attempted to do quick fixes that haven't worked multiple times. There are also nails that stick up under the carpet that go into your feet that they "cannot do anything about". There have been multiple other issues making it uncomfortable. The realtors do a great job of selling the places, but know this is the last time you will be treated well by this crowd.

Thank you, Mr. Donniger for your feedback as we value all feedback and see it as an opportunity to improve. As discussed in our phone conversation this week should you have any further questions or concerns please contact our leasing office at 973-376-1106.
Great price for the area; however not worth the drama. Management is awful. We had a car broke into and they were zero help and rude. There are apparently no cameras back near our parking spots which are not only a hike from our front door, but also poorly lit- even though there’s a decent parking fee. Ventilation is also terrible. Downstairs neighbors smoke and the second floor apartment constantly wreaks. The smell has stained my clothes to the point I’ve gotten comments in public. The appliances barely work, especially the freezer, and the sink constantly backs up. Overall awful experience.

Thank you for your feedback. Please contact the leasing office so we can discuss your overall experience as our goal is for each valued resident to love their home and community.
Where to start... PAPER thin floors, I was constantly hearing my neighbors from downstairs arguing and slamming doors. Carpets are disgusting, appliances barely work (freezer did not work ever) Only good thing is the fact there was a washer/dryer in the unit. Other than that, don't even bother with this property. Take your money elsewhere.

This apartment is in absolute shambles. I wouldn't recommend my worst enemy live here. From mice, to bugs, to water constantly being turned off to fix hot water and pressure issues. Management couldn't care less about any of the residents. The floors are as thin as tissue paper. I can hear every conversation my downstairs neighbor has and I am constantly able to hear their television and feel it vibrating through my floor. I have also had an issue with mice on multiple occasions. The building has an exterminator come in twice a month to deal with mice, so clearly I'm not the only with a constant issue with mice. They don't pay to have the garbage taken out often enough and the dumpsters usually have garbage spilling out onto the walkways because there is no where else for it go. DO NOT LIVE HERE!!

If I could give them minus 45 stars I would the absolute worst.. definitely not worth the little promotion they use as an incentive to move in. Over priced extremely and they nickel and time you for everything and management does the bare minimum to keep the place in order apartment are sabby and dogs poop everywhere so you gotta watch where you walk. So many bugs everywhere you turn you are gonna be killing a bug I found a tick in my bathtub and I am not a pet owner. Daughter(4) got bit by two spiders in under the year I have lived here. Think that's all well here we go you will never ever have hot water the electric in this building goes out every chance it gets and spent 5 days last winter with no heat hot water or electric and certainly no compensation or compassion from the owners. If this is the only review you read please please don't move in here you will be utterly disappointed the worst place I've lived in all of my 29 years.... If you don't be lieve me check the turn over rate no one stays more than a year. Take heed!!
My parents visited me from abroad for 6 months. The property management delivered lease extension document to them. Since they do not speak English, my parents did not give it to me until passed the deadline by a few days. Therefore, the property management automatically extended the lease and fined us 2.5 months rent for breaking the lease. It equals my parents' one year pension. They made no exception even it was Christmas. In addition, the apartment is very old. When one of the neighbor moved, there were bugs came from that unit.

I had been here for a year only apartments are very small not enough space .Maintenance is fine but because of pets its been really dirty on walkways and grass you have to be careful putting your feet anywhere on grass. otherwise also not really clean.views are good community is very safe and quiet . emergency maintenance is good though .staff is nice and location is very very convenient everything is walking distance away let it be gym grocery pharmacy or restaurants even DMV. i would not leave it if apartments would have been spacious you cant stay in 550 sqft box for longer .

Thank you for your review on the property and all of the positive aspects of it- if you are interested in looking into a bigger size unit please let us know.
This is my 1st time renting. I love the area and my neighbors are very friendly and so are their pets. What I did not like was that, during the month of December, I actually had no heat for numerous days and was not mad aware why I didn't have heat. I believe the rent is a little too high because the maintenance around the complex is not well kept. I had a leak in my apartment and no one came back to fix. The dumpsters pile up with so much garbage, it is usually a stench outside my building. Last, many neighbors use my parking space for their guests, which is very annoying. The first few months here were good, but the last few months turned sour.
